Title Dusk Love
Not engaging for some reason. Maybe everything was just too far fetched and taking itself too seriously to really suspend disbelief and feel immersive. Music is horrible, like knocking back a half a bottle of Ny-Quil PM.

Basically stupid. I gave it a 5, because both the leads were hot and put some effort into their performances, they had great kiss scenes. But there was nothing for them to work with, it's the short-series equivalent of elevator music. (Well.... aside from the bathtub scene, which was fire....)

Not bad atall. I give it a 7.5, which for me is a solid score for a short-length.

Whoever was coordinating the music for this i'm sure was well-meaning. But it was oblivious and tone deaf. The music is sort of lilty and classic, you know... snoozer music. Easy listening for taking a nice nap... pretty light. But. The ML is really darksexy hot, this demon thing he has goin on is really vampy and kumi and he gave a fairly sexy performance. He deserved better background music.

So... this might be one of the c-dramas that fits into the category of "dramas that are five times better with the sound muted and Type O Negative's 'Love You To Death' playing on repeat instead'.

But aside from the uninspired music, this was pretty damn good. It just makes you wish it was longer with a bigger budget and sexier kiss scenes. But everything else was pretty much on point. Their budget constraints were very limited, so it does have a bit of a hokey 'Xena Warrior Princess' feel to it. It's good anyway. If it were me, I would have gone for a darker visual aesthetic, used more blacks and reds. But it was fine. They went with more of like a blue/green/white vibe.

I just got done watching Kang Lan Ye in Playing House. So to see him do a different role as the fox demon with two personalities, he's actually a really good actor, and will just keep getting better with more experience. Wang Zi Ming also had some really excellent scenes in this, he is really funny and also a gifted young actor I hope to see someday with a long successful career. I think he has the talent, and just needs more experience and a chance to shine.

No one's reviewed this yet, so I moved my original comment into a review instead. Basically, it was really freakin good. Not enough kisses, but other than that, kind of hard to find much fault with it. Rewatchable.

I give it an 8.

Pretty damn well made for a short length. I didn't like the lack of kiss scenes, kilig, or actual romantic moments. Angst is high, chemistry is there. But no spice in this at all. I didn't like the ending.

Plot was strong, pacing was good. OST was a bit aggressive. 7.5

Great drama. 9/10. Don't listen to all the bozo crybabies in the comments.

Bad dubbing, no kilig, tired storyline, One or two awkwardly faked kiss scenes, and a tragic ending. IMO this was absolutely awful. 3/10

Great chemistry, great kiss scenes. Some good kilig moments. Plot is simple and really pared down to only its most basic elements, but the story is novel and creative. It could be fleshed out into a good regular length drama.

ML and FL are both kind of goofy-hot which I really like. No annoying characters. I give it a 7 because it's a solid watch, but I'm not rating it higher because it felt like they raced too fast through the story for it to be a truly enjoyable rewatch.... and because the drama is fluttery and sexy but a little teensy bit too tame. All it all, it was 'not bad'.

I've heard this is really good, but I don't really enjoy non-romance dramas. This one is tagged "slight romance".... how slight are we talking here?

SHEN LI ROCKS I think you will have fun with it. Rare for such a good xianxia to have a true HE. So many big names do guest roles and cameos, it's really cool.

Ignore it - had to be done to pass censorship. Or you can interpret it as the modern day them 😬 hope you caught…
their 'official' excuse is that some young impressionable girls have killed themselves to try to reincarnate or something. But just personally, I highly doubt they are censoring huge productions over one or two suicides in a population of like a billion. I bet it's more to do with the politics of religion. CCP is very prickly about religion in their country. But that's just personal speculation on my part.

Me too, and he doesn't get to show it in LoSL, but goddddd he is such a good onscreen kisser wheww baby! He should totally have some more ML roles in the future. He has a really rare kind of sexy/cute.

The casting was so so good. The story was simple but well-paced and engaging. The OST matched the story really well and complimented it. It was of a higher caliber than most short-length c-dramas. It was spicy and sensual, the kiss scenes were not the best but they are very well done.

My biggest issue with this drama is I am very averse to crying, and unexpectedly this drama made me cry quite a bit. It was just so poignant. If you want something sexy, but also that moves you, this is your drama.

Although I didn't enjoy all the crying I did while watching this, and my personal score would probably be a 7 or 7.5.... I just can't in good conscience leave a rating so low for something that I can see objectively is so good. So I gave it an 8. This may be too simplistic to really compare to full length dramas, but for a short-length, it was really of a much higher quality than most.

Why?? WHY that lipstick outside the lip line??? It's so distracting!!
It's awful! But thankfully, it was pretty much the ONLY thing about this drama that was awful.

It's insane how the first 30 episodes are like watching someone try to light a campfire with waterproof matches in the rain, and then by ep 39, it's a full-on out of control raging forest fire, and you're like "well, that escalated quickly".

i did! the actor who played furong is the male lead in that drama, right?! I kept thinking he is so familiar!
yep he is! It was so fun watching him in this after having seen MFB... he had me totally crackin up. I love his sly little side-glances, and that goofy way he runs.... and seeing him in "fisherman's face" was freakin hilarious, that was such a great scene <3
