they all drop over time. Even hidden love went from a 9.2 to a 9
I think the reason it happens is because people start raving about the drama and rating it high, and this in turn causes people who wouldn't even like it to begin with to think "hey, maybe I would like it because the rating is so high". But they can't appreciate it so watch it or start to watch it, it turns them off for totally predictable reasons, and they rate it low.
Like take hidden love.... there's so many comments in there like "this drama was so gross, she's like a child when they meet, he's basically a groomer omg! I gave it a 1/10, how disgusting!" ........... when it says right in the synopsis that he's her older brother's BFF and it's her childhood crush. It's like, you knew you wouldn't like it, and you watched it anyways.
Or here with SoKP, all the comments like "omg XW is so toxic.... omg the romance doesn't even start till basically the end" and it's like yea, we have been in the comments warning y'all about this exact shit, but did you listen, no you didnt. Since it was rated high, you tried to watch it anyways, and guess what. An 8.8 with a toxic ML.... IS STILL A TOXIC ML.
This is true for just about every drama I know of.
The ML and FL are great, although I really disliked the dubbing, it gave the drama a cheap crappy feel. The story itself is so creative, it could have been made into a full-length drama. Not great, not bad. 7/10
another question. I'm still on ep20 so pls not too much spoiler if possible. It seems YL rap*d her? The writing…
good questions. Hmm... I got the impression she led YanLin on most cruelly for her own ends, which was why she never blamed him for what he did in the first lifetime. I think she's more scared of Xie Wei because when he caused her demise in the first lifetime, she never saw it coming, he blindsided her... and on top of that, he hated her in a way that was really cold and impersonal. She offered herself to him, and he didn't want her, he rejected her. So in her second lifetime, she was convinced that he hated her, and that made him more of a fear than Yan Lin, who she knew very very well, and understood his motivations. She knew with Yan Lin that if she wasn't evil to him, he wouldn't be evil to her. But she has no idea who Xie Wei is, where he's coming from, or why he stares at her so hard its like he's trying to bore a hole straight through her. When he falls in love with her, she cannot believe it for what it is, because in the first lifetime, he never loved her, or showed any interest in her as a woman even when she threw herself at him, and in fact hated her pretty hard. Why would he suddenly act like he cared about her? That probably really bothers her, and as she devlops feelings for him, her OWN feelings scare her. She has an idea of how the second lifetime is supposed to go, and Xie Wei's new behavior towards her doesn't fall into that vision. She has no idea what to make of him, but she expects history to repeat itself and for him to end up causing her death again.
Watched for the smokin hot ML, after first seeing him in My Lethal Man. Yep, he's still hot. The drama itself was average. Hard to pinpoint what exactly makes this drama "average", because all the elements were there for it to be an above average production. It's just lacking in je ne sais quoi. Feels a bit flat and chemistry between ML and FL is mild and not fiery at all.
Not bad, not great. The 2FL is very charismatic, I hope she gets more roles in the future. And the ML of course is HAWT, and I'd love to see him take on bigger roles in the future also. This one was QUITE the noona romance, my goodness that's an age gap. I didn't mind. Some might be turned on or turned off by it though.
Although, one thing I still do not understand, maybe someone can explain without too much spoiler as I'm just…
I heard in this thread a while back, that in the book this is based off of, her parents were sort of horrible to her basically. In the drama they're not, although the mom is not really that kew.
"Please lower your standards. Thank you."Your comments present a false dichotomy between viewers who don't like…
I just looked over your watchlist... we don't exactly have the same taste in shows, however it is clearly apparent that at least you have TASTE . You'd dislike My Demon probably. It has a distinct lack of originality, and there's not a lot of synthesis or cohesion of the ideas and themes it tosses around -- considering you tend to like dramas that have a clear vision and plot progression that moves smartly along it's themes and doesn't get lost in itself or drift. My Demon is a PROFOUNDLY "average" drama. It has a few scenes that transcend it's mediocrity, but those scenes are all bunched up at the beginning of the drama and then it slowly peters out, and flatlines by the midway point. There are also a few moments where they let ML glare at someone very scarily with red demon eyes and it looks really cool. Each of these moments lasts about three seconds. It's honestly only worth the watch if you just want to at least be able to say you watched it. But there's no gold in them hills... just a bunch of pyrite.
They probably changed his brassy yellow hair, because it wasnt hot at all. He looked way better with dark hair.
Are you out of your mind?! When they went back from peroxide blonde to brown, the brown turned GREEN because their hair colorist doesn't know what the hell they're doing! They even fucked up the pH of his hair and it turned all rough and dull... It looked like hay someone scraped up from a clogged farm drainage grate. Dear god.
After watching the first six episodes and visiting the comment section, I was so confused by all the hate comments.…
omg this review cracked me up... a k-drama for kids.
>another copy of another copy
It's like in that old Michael Keaton movie 'Mulitplicity', where he makes a copy of himself, and his copy makes a copy of himself, and then that copy makes a copy of himself, but each copy is dumber and more corrupted than the last so the 4th copy-of-a-copy of himself is a total imbecile. 'My Demon' is like a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy until the final manifestation is so retarded that it barely functions as a drama.
ikr.... I have zero interest in it if Victor's not the ML.
Again, you think he looked goofy, I thought he looked badass. Youre like aloof, arrogant, cocky. I see that in Victor. I wonder if this isn't cultural, because you're not american, and he was raised as a New Yorker and then a west coaster. I'm a west coaster (surprisingly, we have a lot in common with NY'ers, although that's not really obvious to anyone but us). There's only like 6 universal facial expressions, and most of the other ones are culturally influenced. Maybe we would all have some aspect of our attitudes you'd find goofy, if you came to visit cali or NY... who knows.
I think it's just a difference of opinion that has nothing to do with the novel, but has everything to do with one's perception of victor's performance. Which is subjective, and not qualitative. You're not a fan. I was a huge fan. It's all good. Nobody has to be righter, it doesn't matter.

1) I am ONLY interested in kilig/spice/fire/angst/passion in my dramas. That being the case, will I like this one or no?
2) Can someone describe the kind of ML Ling He is playing here? What is the character's personality like?
2 forever loves - I saw them both. I gave them both a 7.5 too! The 2023 one is a short-length drama, the 2020 one is the An Yu one.
