It's early days in this drama. The characters are shaping up nicely, there is suspense, deception and a great look to it. Give it a chance.

This was a total surprise. The male lead was captivating. He came to romance reluctantly but once he was committed he outshone most others I've seen. His hands are beautiful to behold. Who wouldn't want them to caress you? The female lead was smart and pleasant but became totally shell-shocked around the ML for much of the drama.

When? After six episodes she looks shellshocked every time she runs into her 'roommate'.

I'm watching this out of desparation because The Early Spring is just about finished. I'm three episodes in and am not feeling it. I keep forwarding through the backstory because I'm sick of 'student days' in dramas. The rating here is very high so I guess I'll keep going for a while, but I'm really looking for something more sophisticated and intense.

I don't usually watch dramas from this time period but there sure are a slew of well known actors in this. The look is sumptious. The sound keeps fading in and out which sucks.

Explain to me why, when all the individual episodes have a rating 9.4 or over, the rating here is only 8.5?

The End. Peaceful family life for our stalward couple. The Yu villains who survived haven't learned their lesson. Madam still rules the dusty roost. For all his learning and experience at the hand of his parents the Son still hasn't fallen far from the tree and sadly grandon Ji is in for more of the same. Fanyake, the poetess, has left him to a dismal future. The other characters more or less got their just dessert. For me the sadest parting was between his majesty and Huchen.

Yeah, he is RISEN! and shaved his face no less. Zhaoling has gone back to his original incarnation. So much more interesting than the court toady he became.

What I liked about the drama is that they communicated, planned actions together and were willing to give up wealth and power to live a hardscabble life before. They were on the same page and had respect for each other and themselves.

Zhoa Ling is dead to me. I'm only watching for Tingyun's part in the drama. I guess it's not only the evil ones who profit from killing.

Murder most foul. Madam Yu certainly does not shirk deleting her opposition. Tingyun still doesn't know Mr. Yu had her mother killed. Concubine Wu has more skill at self-presevation than Yu Junior. Thought he was going to smash his head into a post for his despicable family's survival. Zhao Ling is losing ground against the forces of evil. There better be something useful in that black book.

I hate facial hair and especially the the whispy bears and thin moustaches and goatees.

I hate facial hair at the best of times. Here it just makes him unlikable when he has just performed a task that needed doing.

I'm being petty here but I really hate when ML decided to grow facial hair at some great turning point in the drama. Is he no longer the man we have learned to love? Is the fact that he is now deceiving his wife, by not telling her something as vital as the reason for her mother's death, unforgiveable? Is the discord an end to a partnership that gave them strength to face hardship? A whole week to wait for the fall-out.

I was actually disappointed. They've always been so formal with each other so I was hoping for some flowing locks on both of them as they descent onto the futon behind the red scrim. Now that they are an 'old married couple' what can we expect?

The starving concubine is not lacking in smarts. Even though she didn't get the flatbread recipe, I'm sure she'll have SML eating out of her hands soon. The main leads wedding night finally came and they could have let their hair down a little after this long wait but instead they kept their headgear on tight. Disappointing. They have more CP when they talk politics.
Episode 27 didn't disappoint in giving us more of the dangerous strategy this couple is willing to employ at court.

I miss the younger version of Sen. Maybe this one will grow on me. Her father is a despicable creep. It was lovely to see her mother and brother being able to 'give the bride away'. The star of the show was the bridegroom who out did himself to make her long-awaited dreams come true. May their productive relationship continue.
