Just finished ep 6 and really enjoying this epic drama. Battle Royal is assembling and heading for their target. The merchant lady is admirable and just a little smitten. Yi Kang finally finds his way to an honorable cause. Yi Hyun is being loved and persecuted by his betrothed family at the same time. This is sad as he is the most likable character though it looks like later on he will go down into a rabbit hole of hate. It's a long drama but I'm used to that from Cdramas and it's holding my interest.

Getting on the throne does not come without cost and one of them is previously held high ideals. The baduk player becomes a trade-off in the game for power. The King no longer has any fit opponents. Mong-woo is the storm come to drench the betrayer.

Her name has become known now to both brothers. Her father-in-law is the bad guy. The king is unraveling some secret from the past. The episode can be called 'The Sweet Smell of Success' in more ways than one.

Romance and widowhood should be incompatable in that time of Korean history, but here we have two widows who are trying to make a more interesting life for themselves.

Great summation of an enjoyable drama. Too bad it's so short.

I just started watching as I'm enjoying Jo Jung Suk in Captivating the King and episodes are slow in coming. Not a very likable character here and it's really weird that the actor playing his mother is the same age. It's good to see Choi Moo Sung who I really enjoyed watching in My Dearest. 'Rice to the People, Death to the Corrupt Officials' is still a slogan appropriate for modern times.

It's definitely worth the watch and you will quickly get over the age thing. It's long and every minute gives you great characters, story, acting and chemistry.

I was blown away by his intensity and romantic talents in The Rebel Princess. Have been looking for more of him since.

Ah, the tension is palpable. There is such homoeroticism in the air when the object of desire does not know the gender of the young companion. While it's only a temporary device, it surpases the usual hetero CP. No doubt there will be a shocking revelation next?

I enjoyed the drama mostly for the supportiong actors, the divers, her sisters, and all the buddies. While I like both main leads in other work, I found the writer/s' take on their characters has them act too juvenile for too much of the drama. This annoyed me many times and took away from my enjoyment.

She is quite nimble on those rooftops for such an ample woman. Also has been a widow for 15 years so she's no spring chicken. I like her do-gooder impulse under such a harrying mother-in-law. The two main leads have survived murderous hardships in their youth and still good-hearted. They should team up to take on the evil in their midst.

I'm just starting to watch this for Zhou Yun and paying particular attention to the details. The VP of his company looks like she is very skeptical of his account of the events of the evening. He is a master manipulator and is trying to get away with rape.

If that's chemistry, it's a lab experience gone bad.

Season 2? I guess it was inevitable what with Kato's baby, Sung Shim passing her little sea snake onto her daughter and Tae Sang waiting patiently. Bring it on! But, who will be the heavy now that Laldy Maeda is physically challenged? Who's that stitched up Ho-Jae at the end?

Did the evil grandpa get his just desserts in both time zones?

Just finished it and really liked the spunky FL in both Joseons. My one quibble with a lot of these dramas is that we never see enough of their sweet reunion after all the trauma to get there.

Well deserved all participants in My Dearest. Plan to watch it again with my partner who's into Cdramas. I think it lives up to his favorites like Nirvana In Fire and Longest Day in Chang'an.

Just starting to watch this great drama for the second time. I think the last episode with the 'kids' was just thrown in late because they were worried about the idiotic ending they had given us.

Well, they just happen to make up 50 percent of the population (and at least that in viewers of Cdramas).
