After watching the behind-the-scenes clips, I actually really loved the atmosphere on set. Joking between scenes, laughing with the rest of the cast/crew.... I think the relationship between each of the cast and crew members during filming is really healthy and wholesome to watch. You can tell that everyone is extremely comfortable and friendly with each other, but also very professional.
The primary focus of this drama is a war general and a woman crafter working together to bring peace to the nation. Throughout this journey, they slowly begin to understand and care for each other. It is also about each character's own identity and their development throughout the story. Yes, the two leads get married, yes, they end up loving and caring for each other, but romance is not the focus of the plot, and love can exist as more than just physical attraction. A drama that displays this beautifully is Fangs of Fortune, where the two leads display their love and care for each other without passionate kisses or over-the-top acts of affection.
I also urge you to please refrain from throwing words like "pedophile" and "porn"; these are serious crimes with serious consequences, and it is inappropriate to be thrown around carelessly, whether it is to spread hate or with genuine concern. Allegations like this are baseless, often spread by haters who feign concern and have no care for either cast member. There is no evidence of anything of the sort happening. China has extremely strict laws when it comes to basically everything, and the drama will not be released if it does not pass these laws and regulations.
This drama will have no kiss scenes between the two leads. Give it a go and decide for yourself if you want to continue. Watch it for the complex storyline, beautiful cinematography/costume design, exciting fight scenes, powerful osts and amazing acting from the entire cast!!
When I started watching, I was pretty sure he's not going to survive. He seemed to be either dying or going blind…
From what I understand, he was poisoned on the battlefield, and the doctor estimated that he had around 3-5 years to live, or he may die tomorrow; however, Xiao Wuyi will not sit still, and he just got injured again, so I'm guessing the time he has left will begin decreasing even more. I think later on in the story, he loses his vision completely, but he recovers.
I think deep down, all Xiao Wuyi wants is for the nation to be at peace, which is also why he restrained himself from falling deeper for Xie Jiayu because he knew that the chances of him coming out of this alive were very slim.
I'm still not sure who becomes the emperor. I'm pretty sure Li Mao gains significant power later on in the show (possibly becoming emperor or crown prince), but he also becomes an antagonist, so I believe the chances of him staying in that position are small. Xiao Wuyi will do anything to keep the nation at peace, but he is a warrior, and his way of defending the nation is on the battlefield. Besides, the reuters and trailers suggest very little that he will inherit the throne, instead focusing on him on the battlefield.
Currently I'm inclined to think that Xiao Wuyi remains a general and emerges victorious against Prince Ying and returns to Xie Jiayu.
I SMELL A SAD ENDING only because of wu yi always getting sick but I do hope I'm wrong 🧑🦽
I think it's a happy ending. I remember watching some sort of promotional video where Hou Minghao and Ai Mi hinted at a reunion with both characters safe, but it could also be somewhere in the middle of the story.
Welcome 🤗 🧐🤔 if you want romance so you can start with,1,back from the brink if you want friendship so…
There was one "arc" in I am Nobody season 1 where he got quite a lot of the screen time. I definitely recommend watching it; he embodies his character so perfectly, and you really get to see how versatile he is as an actor!!
For the upcoming shtstorm, the template is back! ----------Before HMH gets blamed with any twisting narrative…
Also mention:
As shown in the reuters (and backed up by Chinese netizens who have read the script), there are no kiss scenes or physically intimate scenes between the two leads. The drama prioritizes its plot and the characters’ development and ambitions over romance. Their relationship develops gradually through their shared experiences, growth, and understanding, rather than over-the-top displays of physical affection. Their feelings are conveyed through their choices, actions, and mutual trust, rather than physical intimacy (similar to Zhao Yuanzhou and Wen Xiao from Fangs of Fortune).
Throughout his career, Hou Minghao has consistently been respectful and professional toward his female co-stars. In variety shows and promotional livestreams, their interactions are natural and relaxed, with his co-stars comfortable and at ease around him.
From the reuters, it’s also evident that Hou Minghao maintains a high level of professionalism on set while filming KttPH. He is consistently respectful toward the entire cast and crew, including Ai Mi, and remains focused on his work. It's also important to note that throughout filming, Ai Mi appears at ease and engaged, with no signs of discomfort whilst being around Hou Minghao.
🍉 upcoming endorsement: MAC This is a famous makeup brand!
I would love to see him get more international endorsements, I live in South Africa, so it's hard to see many Asian/Chinese celebrities on billboards (not to mention, he really deserves the international recognition!!), but I know the day will come when we will be able to see his face everywhere, regardless of which country we are in ❤️
Hou Minghao signed the contract first without knowing who his co-star would be; by the time he found out that Ai Mi would be acting alongside him, everything had already been finalised. Also, a drama can still be good without a lot of overly romantic/kissing scenes; the best example of that is Fangs of Fortune.
Lowkey, when the 5th sister was about to stab the granny, I was like, "YES GIRL (YOU'RE KINDA PROBLEMATIC BUT IDC), GO DO YOUR THING!!!" She should've stabbed the granny when RSB was busy with YBL's stab wound!!!
I'm not seeing grandma's main servent what happened to her?she and steward cheng fled together or what
Idk what happened to the steward, but the grandma's main servant was sent on a "business trip" for a few months to deliver tea to somewhere else (or bring back tea, can't remember for sure, but it's for the Rong family's tea business).
