Because of my bl loving brain I think it is a missed opportunity to not have a enemies to lovers plot for Yan Fang and Deng Yi. A few episoes ago where they were alone during the late night house call I was screaming "just make out already" at the screen. The tension (caugh... or chemistry) was so increadible. They would of course still be the bad guys just working together as a (also secret) power couple. Oh well.
Maybe it exists in fan fiction .

Simply because he wants him and that it all that matters in the moment (and afterwards, and in general) to LF. Have you seen To My Shore? The toxic one finally lets the other one go when he realises he is on the verge of taking his own life. In this show LF immediately forces himself on CYC.

Hey JWY friend! It does indeed deserve a higher score... from what other people are saying it's because of the lack of expected romance between the ML and FL that is beinging the score down. The FL definitely has feelings for the ML but they are likely unrequited. He is very busy with the conspiracy he is trying to figure out, with a side of poisoning. So I don't blame him from steering clear of romance despite how great the FL is😅. Either way they + 2ML develop a beautiful bond/friendship and become a great justice seeking/ass kicking 3 person team. As an aside, you might enjoy the bickering bromance between the ML and 2ML. It made me smile and warmed my heart many times... but also yes there will be several more doses of crying in store as well.

This!... Throughout the series I could reason the choices/mistakes they made because of their personality/characters BUT when LF said that there is actually an upside to CYC being in a coma, and that this upside is basically that CYC has zero agency, well that makes LF ancient evil🤮. We as the audience are frustrated that CYC is so spineless, but from that scene I realised that LC actually prefers that trait, it just hasn't worked out from him in this setting because the pressures of felial piety outweigh romantic ones. It would have worked out for him just fine in, for instance, an omegaverse setting because then CYC would be spineless for him.

We are also blessed that these two actors are good at being flirty on screen 🙌

So soon in the series! I am so glad they chose to not drag it out to the very end like they did in the recent drama ML was in, GTG, which did forced kiss stupidness midseries instead, eventhough there was flirting there from basically day 1 between the two leads, just like here. I am so glad that they chose not to do that here.

They changed the opening scene from that fight at the inn to him rescuing his friend? The friend who had the secret message and was being tortured? To make the scenes sequential as opposed to a flash back? Were the timeline jumps confusing for people?

He poisoned him.... of course he did. Why was I suprised, yet I still gasped. I guess this takes a happily ever after out of the running.... but I guess a month of happiness is already a lot considering the precedents for period stories 😮‍💨
Maybe that Dr. that also loves Yin Qi will be able to heal Yanzhi???? After all this is such a small production that maybe his character isn't just a filler role... they could have made the Dr. a complete backround characer but chose to make him part of the plot so I have hope. A little bit of hope🤏

So you saw what I saw... that they both have scars in the places they were shot in the og time line... Meaning they both came back and remember? But did they come back to the same moment? Wouldn't Yanzhi have been more disoriented in that moment, the way Yin Qi was? Also wouldn't Yanzhi be making very different decisions like Yin Qi is? Yanzhi's behaviour seems to be in line with the og timeline, not like someone who knows how it played out... or maybe he doesn't think he can back out of the og plans and is trying to make the more foolproof the second time around? Also, ALSO, if they both came back wouldn't Yanzhi have clued in to Yin Qi coming back since he is behaving so differently? Why has Yanzhi not admitted Yin Qi to being reborn if that is the case??? I hope I am misinterpreting something and that this isn't a case of the miscommunication trope. Maybe the scar on Yanzhi is simply a red herring.
