Did anyone else cry their way through the first 10 minutes of episode 9 or was that just me. But seriously, I love this drama for showing how traumatic and impactful these adventures are for the survivors. This is a very human story and we're constantly being reminded of that.
It's going to have bromance in it, too, I'm pretty sure of that with all the promotional and behind-the-scenes stuff I have seen so far. I have a lot of faith in Ding Yuxi and Zhang Xincheng. Also, the two protagonists were very close in the novel as well. :)
I’d have to say that my favorite combo is ultimate note with Joseph and XYL playing WX and XG respectively but…
Sadly, my favorite Wu Xie never really got to interact much with "his" Zhang Qiling, so I'd choose Zeng Shunxi & Xiao Yuliang as my favorite combo as well. My favorite Iron Triangle would be the one from Reunion though.
And yeah, WX and ZQL don't interact much with each other in the first few story arcs. Their friendship and trust builds over time, which is why these two already have a well established relationship by the time Ultimate Note happens. But! If it's true that they want to adapt the whole books series once more with a fixed cast of actors, then we'll maybe get to see more of that chemistry between Xu Zhenxuan's WX and Cheng Xiang's ZQL as well. :)
Yes. It takes place mostly in Malaysia and tells the story of two members of the Zhang clan (the same clan that Zhang Qiling belongs to, just a different branch) who we haven't met before.
Since you mentioned, I took a closer look, the young Pangzi does looks like the younger version of Chen MingHao🙂.…
I tried to add the actor to MDL, but then I forgot to add one specific link (among all the others), that's why he didn't get approved. Didn't find the energy to try again since. 🫠
I see there's a new series called Southern Anecdote. Where in the timeline does it fit related to this Time Raiders?
It takes place around the same time/era as "The Mystic Nine" (so about ~70 years before the events of "Time Raiders"), but in a different part of Asia. The main characters belong to one of the many branches of the Zhang family and don't appear in any of the other dramas, so it's kind of a standalone.
I like this new Pangzi a lot. He brings exactly the right kind of attitude to this adventure, plus he's sexy as hell. <3 (And I still can't believe they found someone to portray him who almost looks like a younger version of Chen Minghao.)
Is this a remake of Yang Yang's 2015 drama The Lost Tomb?
Technically, it's not a remake but a new adaptation of the first novel in the book series, that the 2015 drama was also adapted from. That's why this drama here lacks some of the original characters and storylines that the 2015 version had for some reason back then.
Is this related to the legend of zang hai? That gui seal and the ghost army sounded a lot like the legend of zang…
Yes and no. "Legend of Zang Hai" was initially supposed to be part of this universe, but it later became its own thing and only kept some of the elements of the source material, which is why the Ghost Seal, the army of the dead and the copper fish are still part of its plot.
All those elements play a much bigger role here, though.

One story arc over now, can't wait for the second one (one of my favorites in The Lost Tomb 2, it was so wonderfully creepy).

Also hi, it's you again! 😊

I guess they'll stretch the release over two weeks, judging from the streaming calendar posted under the photos for this drama.
