Wait a moment. So infiltration by shifters is a real possibility. But they have a method to detect them. Yet it is only used on special occasions? Shouldn't they do regular checks in all decision centers, especially the palace? This is lazy writing.
Dropping at ep9. This is some fucked up shit. He kisses her without consent. That is sexual assault, independent of his intention. And then he treats her like a prostitute, suggests to pay for it. And to put the cherry on top, he brings up the asinine illegal contract to argue that it was within his right to kiss her.
Started rewatching this one. Don't remember the ML being so annoying. Yeah sure, he has been forced to do the job. But the constant bickering is just too much. Even his intonation is irritating.
Interesting that they've used the quote: "Hell is a state of mind." Is the afterlife the dead experience in this story maybe shaped by their minds? So it can be either heaven or hell or something in between.
Dropping after eight episodes. It's not bad. It's just mostly scheming and misunderstandings, a lot of he said, she said.
If there is one thing I like, it would be that FL stayed true to her conviction for the episodes I watched. But she will give in to ML's charms eventually.
The ML is an inconsistent character though. He was fine with her being outcast for years, just believed the accusations without looking into it. But when she came back fighting, he is suddenly totally supportive of her.
Only a couple of episodes in and it's certainly not for me. Damsel Holmes would be a more fitting title. How did she survive before the ML forced himself into her life? The accidental skinship felt forced/cringe.
Just watched the first episode and am already considering dropping it due to lazy writing, don't understand the…
ML pretends to be a suspect to get captured. Then goes on to assault the interrogating constables and walks away. Now the two constables he easily overpowered are tasked with catching him? Shouldn't the whole friggin Yamen be after him (even if just to save face)?
And let me guess, he will now team up with one of the constables as if nothing happened.
I wish the success rate power would not manifest as a gamified augmented reality interface. Besides it also provides detailed additional information on the object of focus for some reason.
It would be more interesting if it was more ambiguous, with the ML having to figure things out by himself. Maybe have red or blue fireflies appear around the object of focus at most.
From classical comedy pov I guess ML is the Fool and FL is the Lovable Loser.
