I judge anyone who uses genAI the same. I have had these same discussions with the people around me and my stance has never changed because none of this is "necessary" nor "inevitable". Fighting against it on the internet means giving information to people who might be using it mindlessly and don't know of the huge consequences that has so no, I don't think I'm wasting my time. But I HAVE said what I wanted to say and I'm done with this conversation.

You keep thinking the biggest problem with AI is artists being replaced (which they are btw, the songs are credited to Suno so they very much are replacing artists, musicians in this case) but it is not. The biggest problem is that regardless of how much or how or why AI is being used, they're doing enormous environmental and social damage by using it. AI is not a tool, it's a shortcut. Finding solutions within the boundaries of a production is part of the artistic process and if the production can't do that, it simply means it's not a good production.

Except AI itself IS inherently bad so any use that gets made of it automatically taints the final result. There is literally nothing you could say to me to make it acceptable. There are millions of artists of every kind all over the world that put out amazing work that would have ideally been made with a bigger budget that do not stoop so low as to use AI. Again, even just five years ago when AI wasn't a thing there were tons of low-budget productions that still put out bangers, proving a bigger budget is not a necessity at all. On the point of other people working on the production: sure, there are people working on it and even they are contributing to the dismemberment of their own art form. When the AI comes from them - and it WILL -, they will have to live with the fact that they were complicit in their own extinction and I refuse to pretend that's not what's happening.

Absolutely insane to me that people are okay with it considering the horrifying consequences it has in basically every aspect: environmentally, socially, artistically. I don't care if your show is a masterpiece, if it uses AI this extensively it doesn't even count as being made by people, who exactly am I supposed to support?! The very actors who are already being replaced by machine-made fakes? There are so many older beloved BL with low budgets that still manage to have great stories and reception. If your show can't survive on a small budget it means the starting idea wasn't that good to begin with and you're exclusively relying on aesthetics. What the hell are we doing man?

They couldn't even afford one artist for the art parts?! If animators are too expensive even a storyboard artist making still sequences would have been better than AI. Lazy and unprofessional, without even getting into the environmental cost.
