It's about love, but you won't find your usual mating hijinks here. There are at least three couples. The only one that ends up together - one party is a a ghost.
It'd say yes. It ends on a positive note, although the scheme fails massively and most of the gang spends some time in jail (but the drama wasn't trying to glorify crime, so it's perfectly along its lines not to make them sip pinacoladas on their own tropical islands). They come to terms with themselves, which is a good thing, I guess. The ending isn't rushed, but concentrates on some characters more than others, and I can't say I'm completely OK with all resolutions. Three people have a terminal ilness. Two make it out alive (not sure why it's so for one of them, though?).
so I'm going to be the third person and ask the same thing: has anybody seen it anywhere online recently? I can't find a working copy even on shadier than usual sites.
I want to watch it for Im Joo Hwan...anyone think it'd be worth it?
On the contrary, I'd say he's one of the very few reasons it is worth watching for. If you're in a position to watch things for Im Joo Hwan only, ou probably already know he may be the most interesting thing in otherwise questionable drama and this one is not an exception. When it aired, there was a faction of viewers who only watched for him and couldn't care less about other characters/plotlines, and others who only cared for Mura & Biryum etc, so reactions can vary greatly. He had a very interesting, conflicted character and delivered it nicely. For me, there were points when he carried the whole drama.
re: one big case or case of the week procedural: after ep 1 I'm leaning towards the former. It's a guess game with just one episode, but for now it seems like the backstory related to FL is a root for all that will happen. I'm not completely sold yet (and a bit disappointed that visuals don't live up to promo materials), but overall it looks promising. For an umpteenth series on serial killers, that is.
does it go back to the main theme of face changing etc? I stopped at ep 17 because (while the story of Lueying finding his identity and bonding with other characters develops well) nothing new is introduced. The drama threw a bunch of interesting things at the beginning and left it like that. Maybe it's a good thing it doesn't add more before completely resolving what it already has, but I'm getting bored. Does it go back in track?
(Also, not to be a brat, because I'm grateful for any subs we're getting, but are they getting better? Is anyone rewatching this or waiting for grammar, wording and spelling to improve? Do people on those youtube channels have a habit of correcting their subs once the series is completely covered?)

Young dancer and his romances - that's so not what this is about. First, it's narrated by a girl, but she's not a main character. Even Liu Feng and Xiao Ping are just one of many members of the troupe. This movie is a coming of age, slice of life period piece aiming to evoke a feeling of epicness (yes, it somehow mingles here). It starts in the 1970s to reach modern day (or at least mid-90s and narrate the rest offscreen). If I was to compare it to something, it'd be Ditto and the way it conveyed a feeling of a lost generation. Underneath the breezy surface and endearing scenes of people gushing over Hong Kong-imported fashion and tapes something much more sinister lingers. Some of the members are there as a part of the re-education, waiting to be permitted to enter the university. Some are bullied because they come from the wrong social class. Romances are happening, but we're talking about complety different sensibility and social standards, so nothing is easy. And then, since it's a military troupe, things are bound to take a dramatic (and gory) turn.
