sooo how about we use racist comedy and ruin our drama?! "Yes, lets do it"

It's actually fun if you only watch the cute love story and skip the rest. But I can't say I liked it because of all the racism and cultural appropriation in this show. I mean, instead of just finding it funny how he acts, they constantly ridicule everything related to Jamaican culture. They even depict him as dirty because of his dreadlocks and his darker complexion.
By the way, honestly was the blackface really necessary? It didn't add anything to his character, I mean -combined with his hair- the only goal was to perceive him as disgusting, smelly and dirty (they even added bugs around him as if he was rotten or something). I just think that's not right, if he was shown as an actual admirer of Jamaican culture and the comedic relief was only focused on his personality/obsession it would've been a lot more respectful. I basically dropped it when I saw that character, because I skipped all of it to get to the end sooner.
Seriously wtf were they thinking using racism as a "comedic story line"?
It's absurd dude, the audacity these guys have is just unbelievable.

Uncomfortable most of the times but heartfelt sometimes

This show just felt wrong, the romance felt off because the guy was totally crazy about her (kinda creepy) and it felt like she didn't care about him at all (rude af).
Honestly, I couldn't stand the female lead, I've never seen a more immature character in my entire life. And the guy did absolutely everything but was constantly belittled by her . If she didn't spend every second calling them "brother", maybe there wouldn't be scene with an incest kind of vibe - their chemistry was kinda weird.
It was so hard finishing this because I was really bothered but almost everything, but Idk why I felt like it would get better and I would like it. I'm a sucker for Character Development and since there were plenty of insufferable leads I was expecting for them to improve so I couldn't drop because of the last bit of hope. Well, none of them got better instead they just showed us the wrong people apologizing, others not being held accountable for their actions and that they were right all along bla bla bla, absolute bulls*t.

This drama surprised me every episode, it didn't follow the stereotypes that most dramas do!!

I talked about the story in a generic way so it didn't spoil it to anyone, but be careful if you are reallyyyy sensitive to spoilers - just a little warning ;)
- Cute and healthy relationship, they trust eachother and the jealousy is sweet instead of toxic. He just wants her to be happy with whatever her choices are and she wants to be there for him, see him succeed inwhat he likes and to help him connect emotionally with the people that care about him.
- There is no female rivalry! Even if there is some jealousy between two women, it never becomes agressive and the one whe was jealous realizes how stupid she was actin and apologizes. Then they talk about it, plan to leave their jealousy at home and decide to really trust each other.
- The female protagonist is feminine, gentle and naive but is also really strong, brave and has a great personality. It isn't one thing or the other like most dramas, she isn't just vunerable e cute or strong and independent.
-No love triangle, it's just them falling in love and learning to respect each other. At first I thought there was going to be one but then it just became a great secondary story without any unecessary drama.

"My defense mechanisms made me do it!" this should be the title

At first, there's a lot of "pity the male lead" trope on Jun Woo. But even if that's a part of Jun Woo's character, the development of the series really surprised me as we are introduced to other characters lives.
The moment we see the story becoming deeper is when he tells her that her life is easy, basically saying he's the only one struggling. But Soo Bin doesn't fall for his victim complex and shuts him up by yelling all her problems at him, showing that female lead doesn't encourage his a monopoly on pain. But when we focus on Hui Yeong, we really see past heir surface's.

Man, the sensitivity of this drama is great.
They portrayed completely different characters going through hardships and developing their own defense mechanisms:
• SOO BIN→Mom's abusive pressure + daddy issues= her trust issues, insecurities and submission to fear.
• JUN WOO→Bullying + poor + daddy issues + loneliness(lives alone)= victim, inferiority and hero/martyr complex, closed off
• HUI YEONG→Dad's physical/psychological violence + suffocating and submissive mom= his self harm, obsession with control (since he's powerless at home) and cruel behavior (reflecting his dad's brutality).
-god I love him ♡, such a well developed character-

Ah and of course, REPRESENTATION. Woo Bin was so great, I was so fucking happy. Also people's reaction to it were perfect hahahah, his best friend/girlfriend was hurt but then forgave him after getting furious and standing up for all the homophobia. Jun Woo/best friend didn't really give a shit hahahah, he just asked why he didn't tell him and was like "okay, cool". Hui Yeong was Hui Yeong, he said "I couldn't care less if you like me, just leave me out of it". Some classmates said stuff but his friends were like "wtf is the problem? a person likes another person, so what?!". I loved it, it was so natural.

I really like psychology so I'm a huge sucker for well made characters and their developments. This show has it's flaws, like infuriatingly stupid decisions and awkward moments, but I got very emotionally attached to it because of how well their feeling were expressed.
➤ If you like deep characters and common fucked up life situations, you'll like this one ☺︎
(this was way too long, I'm sorry)

I will NEVER get over the fact that this didn't get the Oscar!

It's been so long since I've cried like that in a movie, I caught myself sobbing during scenes.
"Better Days" is a punch in the gut, it's heavy, heartbreaking, violent and even gruesome. But it what makes the story beautiful is the leads, it's not that common for me to love the main couple. It's just that their chemistry is so mesmerizing that we don't need a lot of dialog, they can express everything just by looking at each other. I loved everything about this movie and I'm very critical over films, but this one blew my mind.
The photography was amazing.
The directors did an incredible job in making us feel every emotion shown to us. They always captured the right moments in a way that completely fit the style of the movie, the lighting (or lack of it), the angles,etc...
I felt as if they moved the camera in a intimate way, making the movie feel familiar to us. So that we feel close to it, like we're watching it was something personal.
Well I'm just saying that you will not regret giving it a chance.
But seriously, I don't think I'll ever forget how I felt watching it for the 1st time.

it's a great kdrama standard -so fresh and original, it definitely stands out-

You like psychology? This is the show for you.
→ trauma, neurodiversity representation*, three dimensional characters with development done right and they demystified the portrayal of antisocial personality disorder.
*it sucks that it's portrayed by a neurotypical actor, but just the fact this character was written is already a start (we gotta see the progress).
There are scenes that I felt were a little too much, but the other amazing scenes made up for it.
The only thing that bothered me is that she harassed him quite a lot at first. I know it's supposed to be funny, but men can be victims to abuse and women can be perpetrators. Women are the majority of the victims but there is a percentage of men too and they should be respected, not treated as a joke. It's a fucked up double standard, if he acted the way she did I think the repercussions would be different. --Since it's not the main part of the series I still love it, but just because we like something doesn't mean we get to ignore what could harmful.--

I wasn't expecting I'd like the story this much :)

I started this web drama thinking it was just about office romances and with a main couple that takes forever to be together, BUT it was nothing like that. The story really surprised me, in a very good way, there is comedy, unrequited love and competitions about their work. The show focuses on an entertainment company that accepted a new group of interns. In the office each one of them is assigned to a senior that will guide them. Their goal is to make channels and stuff famous, get more likes and views. Because of that they compete quite a lot since each of the seniors (with their intern) works with a channel. The relationships between the employees there are very fun to watch, the comedy is great and their job is surprisingly exciting.
(I haven't written many reviews so please be nice hahahah. I hope you guys enjoy reading it ♥)

plot is good but the only female protagonist is basically useless, great

-hey, how about we create an amazing plot with a little bit of romance to spice it up? -Yes, but let's not show how they start liking each other and also, give she girl as little participation on the story as possible.
That's how I imagine them writing this part of the script. Okay so, honestly I loved the story, it was so creative and well structured, it really got me hooked. The idea and the adventure/action part was really well done, you can clearly see the it was one of their priorities. BUT the only thing that bothered me like crazy was Jung Hee Joo / Emma's role in the drama, I mean she is literally on the poster o f the series but her charecter was completly useless. I couldn't ignore the way the only woman on the main cast was portrayed, Park Shin Hye is amazing actress and neither the scrip or the director did any justice. I felt that she was only there to make the hero look stronger and so that he could make a "sacrifice" to look like an even better person.
About their "romance", it was poorly written and awfully structured, it was so rushed like one moment they hate eachother and the next they are kissing. It didn't make any sense and it was totally useless to the plot, just because it's a man and a woman doesn't mean they have to kiss at some point (heteronormativity still going strong right). Also, Hee Joo had no personality or charecter development, it's like they just shoved her in the story and forgot that she was her until hey need a kiss scene. Jung Hee Joo is supposed to look all determined and and hardworking, but barelly has any involviment in the story and when she appears, she is always being saved by him. Women don't need to be saved, female protagonists are just as strong as the male protagonists.

one word: ABUSIVE

Dude, this is toxic AF. I don't get it why people love this dram, their story and relationship is SO UNHEALTHY. He is constantly harassing and treating her like sh*t. The love triangle is ridiculous, the guy with the violating has no personality and is kinda creepy.
Seriously man, don't search for a relationship like this. This IS NOT an example of love!!!!!!! This is a perfect example of a possessive, abusive and narcissistic boy who thinks he can have and everything and everyone (specially the female lead).
Please guys, this is for your safety/happiness.
I wanted to put -10 in everything but that's not an option, so let's go with lowest I can (1).

sweet but with the overboard asian flirting trope

The story is really cool and the characters are cool, it's starts really well and funny with the teasing and all. But honestly I don't like the trope that one lead falls really fast but the other doesn't like them and get annoyed by their presence. Then the one in loves goes overboard to get close to them, in this case is the housing situation (generally speaking so I don't spoil it for anyone).

I just think it's too much you know, I know that it doesn't last too long but the the way the FL treats the ML kinda. Also I couldn't move on from the situation I referred earlier, I know it's stupid but it really bothered.
