the clash between trin and victor is the highlight of the series so far for me!! truly two whole philosophical systems/foundational economic theories colliding. STELLAR performances on both sides of course. i forget to enjoy the romance lol i’m too distracted. this is what happens when you invest in writing, directing, editing etc etc. can’t wait for more🤤

the diplomatic relationships between thailand and the soviet union were there since after ww2, but i don’t think there was any big russian diaspora at the time (russians didn’t really leave the ussr that much unless they were dissidents i think) — although there is now lol.

just dawned on me that dad may have left russia because he was religious? religion was widely suppressed in the ussr.
or maybe he isn’t exactly a commie, but victor is? and we can also talk about how another book he has is “war and peace” (a very old, pre-soviet edition) by tolstoy, who was religious but also excommunicated lol. and famously a pacifist. but this is just me being a nerd hehe sorry.

had to go rewatch the scene😁 well, dad uses the word “batyushka” (=an also slightly endearing term for priest in russian orthodox church) for “reverend”, but maybe this is just for the lack of a better word. and what he’s writing doesn’t seem to be in thai, but i’m not sure. had to look up the thai-russian relationships in the 1960-es but didn’t find anything significant (and there’s nothing i remember from the history classes). maybe it’ll have to do with communist views that victor may have inherited from his dad? but then, if you’re actually a communist, what may have driven you away to thailand from a communist country?.. if yes, i think this might turn out to be very tragic, because apparently the 1960es was the start of the war between the communist party and the government in thailand.. but this might just be a whole pile of overthink:) guess we’ll have to wait and see!

thada and armin are both so romantic lol. only thada has: rooftops, fireworks, huge beautiful terraces in his palace of a house, lines of foodtrucks for food support, his whole team of bodyguards showing the way... and armin is like: cacti.
haven’t seen this past ep5, but reading the reactions and ngl there’s a strange satisfaction in seeing all the negative comments. bit sad tho too. maybe change’s executives will finally learn to read the room better. or maybe (and more likely) they will continue to push so many of their talents to the background, give their shows weird uneven promotion and horrible plots and incomprehensible character motivations. they will probably remain tone-deaf towards important topics that have been discussed head to toe by now, and just generally engage in professional self-indulgence rather than create series — i.e. confidently and consistently destroy with their own hands everything that could have been good. i wish they had this consistency in writing and oh so many other aspects of their products.
i can’t hold it in anymore, sorry. i’m a jealous bish and i have the right to be. the amount of promotion this is getting is ridiculous. we were never able to follow the shooting process like we were with other change series, there was no fitting, we were supposed to guess whether the workshops were for imtmbc when they were happening last (!) year, official ig/twt dead for months (and are barely alive now). some people even thought it was cancelled. we’re spoilt of course with such coverage, but other shows somehow still get it. people in thailand are mad about the story. pb2 is barely watchable, i don’t know how much of their audience change lost with it. i don’t know who’s gonna watch this. even how silent this page was after the documentary and the trailers was very telling. pingnut, pop, lee, aton deserve so much better, as well as other people working on the show. good for belle she’s gonna be in that lmsy gl and lmsy are basically promoting themselves atp. i hope i’m overthinking and things will turn out okay in the end, and the events they try to be doing now will work, but so far — oh i’m so pissed. and watch them market the shyte out of gbyfd over the next few months lol.
they need to drop some nuea lore fast, coz my patience is wearing thin😁 what was that self-harm thing about? why is poor sun always on that emotional roller coaster? or am i missing sth? this series is potentially so unique and enjoyable in so many ways, i pray they don’t continue to blow it in the next 5 eps🙈
omg the last couple of episodes gave all the feels, so so bittersweet, simple and effective, worthy of all the previous 20+ eps. hope monpak don’t get reduced to 2nd cp in doctor’s mine.
