In C-dramas, everything is possible, even falling off a cliff and surviving happens in at least 80% of the dramas released. See "The Wanted Detective", where the ML actually planned to fall off a cliff.
To be honest, it doesn’t surprise me that this was ML’s plan to get close to the Rong family. I wouldn’t even be surprised to find out that “the monk” is plotting together with ML, I really don’t believe he suddenly fell in love with FL. And just when I was happy that we were done with Ding Chen, suddenly he has a psychopathic “clone.” Soon this drama is going to be dominated by psychopaths.
What an unexpected twist in episode 10. I keep wondering what that symbol on the bracelet represents, it seems to be connected to the FL’s mother. It’s unclear whether her mother was a good person or not. I wouldn’t be surprised if we later discover that the FL is not from Rong family.

Yeah, I can’t really figure out where he gets this nerve from. If he had recovered his memory, I might understand, but as it is, it doesn’t really make sense.
First time watching Cheng Xiao in a negetive role and she nailed it. Love her❤️
I don’t know what she nailed, because up until episode 8 there are very few scenes with her. I think she appeared in the first episode, and then again for about 5 minutes in episode 8. That’s about it so far.
And there are others as well where they planned and they are not xianxia or wuxia
