Pretty good lakorn!

Tl;Dr - This series was awesome! I'd recommend it!! If you're looking for a light-hearted, well scripted & greatly etched characters - this is the show for you! It made me laugh, ponder and root for characters!

Now, let me break this down into sections -

Story: The plot is actually quite tight, for a rom-com-ish Thai lakorn. Our male lead, Mahatsajan's, father sends him to the village to learn about life in general. There he meets Baimon(Female Lead) and Kamloy(Female Lead's Best Friend) and they don't get along, to say the least. Baimon & Kamloy's parent's farm lands get swindled while the same forces are working to swindle Mahatsajan & his family out of all their assets. The story revolves around bringing justice to the impacted people, learning about the importance of kindness and not being prejudiced about anyone.
I like that they spent time on the rural section and then the city. The story gave time for all characters. The villains and how they scam the leads' families is quite interesting in itself. In many other Thai drama, I usually fast forward the villains plotting and being sleezy. This one kept me riveted, though. I hated the villains, but did watch through all their scenes. And, I absolutely heart the two best friends - Baimon and Kamloy! Those are friendship goals! And I also loved how Baimon, Kamloy & Kamloy's boy friend worked hard and persevered to achieve their goals and dreams! The story had some beautiful messages about friendships, family & being kind without being preachy. I liked Mahatsajan's character growth! I also enjoyed watching him slowly fall in love with Baimon! I just wish they spent a little more time showing us Baimon falling in love with Mahatsajan. And, why oh why did they have to do that alter ego bullshit in the last episode?! I'd have preferred more time spent on them being all lovey-dovey.

Moving on to Acting - Everyone was awesome!! Well, everyone except the ML's mom. I don't know why - but I hated her! She was so screechy that I had to lower the volume of the video or mute it to shut out her voice and extra acting! I think the actress playing the ML's mum could have toned it down a bit. But, apart from that - I really loved every one! Special mention about the villains - they did a very believable job! They were creepy and gross - and made me hate the characters. The FL was kickass! I really loved her - she lived that character! :) The ML was pretty good too! There were parts were I thought he could have emoted better, but I was very ready to forgive these transgressions!! The two leads had good chemistry. Not the greatest that I've watched, but good nonetheless.

Music (and bit about editing): The music was okay. It kind of went with the scenes. My biggest complaint - What the hell was going on with the editing department? huh! There were many scenes where the music was amping up and there was an abrupt cut to a different scene. This was very jarring - Hence my overall 7.5 as opposed to a 8.5 or 9.

This show is definitely re-watchable! With that, I'm going to re-watch some of my fav scenes! :D

Tugs at your heartstrings!

I didn't want to watch this show. I thought it would be boring. I am eating my own words right now - by re-watching parts of the series! :D

Breaking down my experience -
Story: It is the story of a baseball player who is sent to prison for beating up his sister's would-be assaulter. And the story is about his experience in prison as a prisoner and his best friend's as a correction officer. Every character is so well-etched that I found myself rooting for the gangster, scammer & drug addict!! It really showed prisoners in a human light! I didn't make light of the crimes/offenses committed by inmates. Instead, it just told their stories as they are - all shades of gray. And, correction officers are not authoritarian (like I'd expected them to be), instead they're human too - in similar shades of grey! (:
Some of the prisoners' stories made me want to reach into the TV and give them a comforting word or hug! The only reason I've not rated this 10, if because I hated how things ended for Looney! He was my favorite part of the show. I must have watched his scenes about 5 times!! I understand that not everything could end in roses & peaches. But, it still broke my heart. For the first time, in a long while, I found myself looking forward to the non-romance parts of the show! That is how good the overall script is!

Acting: Again, I am blown away! Every single actor was splendid! Every. Single. Actor!! The leads - Park Hae Soo, Jung Kyung Ho are without a doubt brilliant! I didn't expect to fall in love with Park Hae Soo. But, I did fall in love with Park Hae Soo's Kim Je Hyuk. I fully expected to fall for Jung Kyung Ho's Lee Joon Ho and was not disappointed. Every actor made me want to root for their character - understand their circumstances & choices, or abhor them! Every. Single. Actor!! I loved the chemistry between Lee Joon Ho & his brother, Looney & Captain Yoo and of course Kim Je Hyuk and Lee Joon Ho. <3 The romance was natural. Though, there wasn't crazy chemistry, I really believed in the couples - Je Hyuk & Ji Ho, Joon Ho & Je Hee, Han Yang(Looney) & Ji Won. Amazing acting! Special shout out to Jung Woong In's Lieutenant Paeng and Lee Kyu Hyung's Looney! <3, <3!

Music: I loved the OST so much that I'm now listening to a couple of them on loop, probably annoying my neighbors! :P Every score blends beautifully into the story. I don't understand the lyrics. But, I want to believe that they are apt.

I've already replayed many of the scenes with the Wing 2, Cell 6 scenes!! And, all those scenes where two or more cellmates are together. I'd definitely watch the entire series again and will be bugging my friends to watch it too! :)

Came for Kao Supassara, fell in love with Great Warintorn and stayed for the show!

I often forward Thai Lakorn. This was the first where I was rewinding to watch scenes again!!

Tl;Dr: Duh! Watch this show!!

Before I jump into the review, I want to share that this review is based on my experience with Thai lakorn. I am not comparing it with American, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese or Japaneese shows.

Story - The story was quite tight and everything wrapped up so well in the end. I really liked how the villains had a believable backstory. And, I found Suam(FL) & her family's story to be compelling too. The story is about Suam (who grew up in a slum with an abusive step father) and Danurut(an upstanding police officer with his own conflicting past), and how they fall in love over the course of a contract marriage as they chase drug dealers and criminals. The SFL & SML stories were cute & adorable and I feel like the story did them justice too! There were two things that I didn't particularly like - a) the way the step father died - I wasn't convinced that the douche-bag got what he deserved. b) the fact that Su (Sia Ha's daughter & interested in the ML) heads the operations of the flesh trade - it was completely unnecessary and didn't add any value at all. Plus, it wasn't very believable. It seemed like they threw that in there as an afterthought to give her character an end. The ML's sister character was annoying, but served the plot really well.
Plus what I really loved about the story was how loyal each little group was! The residents of the slum, the police offices in the station, Snow White & dwarfs and the villains! I absolutely loved how the residents of the slum were always there was each other - through thick & thin!

Acting - I loved every actor!! Honestly, I came to this show to watch Kao Supassara after watching her in My Forever Sunshine. I loved every actor in the show! Irrespective of whether the character was lovable or atrocious, the actors really delivered. Especially the villains. I felt involved in the show right from the first minute. I felt happy, sad, shy, excited, disgusted, embarrassed & other myriad emotions as I watched this! The cast really took me on that journey. Both Kao and Great emote very well and are really good actors! The chemistry between Kao & Great was amazing! I could feel it! I believed that Suam & Danurut were perfect for each other and truly loved each other. And, when Great smiles!! OMG! My poor heart! The chemistry between the SML and SFL was pretty great too! They were so adorable!! I am going to be on the watchout for more acting from the SML actor.

The music was pretty decent, it went very well with the story and didn't sound out of place at any point. And, the songs were enjoyable and added to the story too.

Definitely rewatch-able!! I'd watch it again pretty soon, to be honest.

Overall, I highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to watch a good, engaging Thai Lakorn!

One of the best Thai lakorn/drama

I was very hesitant to start this series. But, I am so glad that I watched it! And, I'd recommend others to give this a try!!

[This review contains some spoilers, but not all that much]

The first 5-6 episodes are a little hard to watch due to the FL's antics. While I understood the need for 5 detailed episodes on setting the context, I still think it was 3-4 episodes too long! Also, some of the things that the FL does in those 5 episodes - it was really, really hard to watch. After finishing the series, I understood why the FL acted that way, I understand that she was emotionally unstable and was desperately trying to find an anchor, but that doesn't excuse the sexual assault (that is what it was!) & sexual assault claim she places on the ML. - Huh! I needed to get that off my chest!

That said, I'm super thankful to the writers who allowed the FL to grow into a beautiful, smart, strong woman. She didn't find excuses for her behavior and wasn't a doormat either! Despite being annoyed at the FL all through the first 5 episodes, I fell in love with her through the rest of the series! (:

And, the ML! OMG! I loved him!! I liked how he didn't fall for the FL overnight (again, thank you writers!)! And, their bickering and cute antics was so engaging! Plus, I think the FL and ML had a lot of amazing chemistry! (:

I should mention that every support-character was so well-rounded and weren't there just for the sake of it! I absolutely loved Ling & other friends of the ML. Usually, I skip many parts of Thai lakorns often, but this one - I wanted every episode, every part! It was very engaging & pretty tight editing too! A shout out to all the actors too! Everyone did a brilliant job!
I'd happily rewatch this series! :)

Like stated previously, the first 5 episodes can be hard to get through, but please, please stick with it and you'll not regret it!

My Favortite 2022 Lakorn!

I've not liked any recent lakorn since 2020 releases. I really enjoyed this one!! And, for the record, I did not skip any parts.

Tl;Dr: It is a great lakorn with some minor questionable things! Watch it!

Long Story -
I liked the plot. The story was tight and really goes to show that lakorn can be made entertaining even without these cringy plot devices. I really appreciate that they treated women with respect in this lakorn, for the most part! No bitchy characters - male or female. Everyone just had different truths and acted on those truths. No bitch-slaps, no misunderstandings or lack of communications to prolong the plot!

I loved our leads & their chemistry! Their chemistry was subtle when they were friends and just exploded beautifully when they got together. I loved how the chemistry did not overwhelm the friendship in the initial episodes. It was just an undercurrent and really well-done! I started this show for Alek (He is sooooo good looking!), but I was very impressed with Nychaa & Pop! The other actors too - the entire cast had great chemistry. Milin's family was messed up - but you can still like them and understand them - which was some really understated & good acting! The ML's family and people around them too! Awesome acting over all!

The OST was pretty neat. Nothing to write home about. But, one of the better music I've heard in a while in a lakorn.

The few things that I felt was a bit of a miss were just minor things - I wanted more of a confrontation between Milin and Lisa. While Tawis & Lisa had great chemistry, I wish it wasn't very confusing in the beginning. And, the most confusing for me was when Tawis claims to really like Milin - I mean, when did that happen? That piece wasn't very convincing, really. And, finally that part where some of the folks are kidnapped - how did the rest of the family just run on to the scene when they weren't even there to begin with! That part made me laugh!

Anyway, I liked the ending. It closed the open ends well and I like the closure that most of the characters got. This show deserves an 8+ rating, if you ask me! This is one of the really good lakorn out there! Don't miss out!

I can't dislike this show..... even if I tried

Sigh! I binge watched this and absolutely loved it!! It made me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside while I was cringing at the how cheesy it was! I absolutely dig the lead couple! OMG, they were so cute!!

I liked many of the side characters. I was a little confused about where they left off things with the FL's family. But, seeing that there is a season 2, I hope the open ends get answered there!

As for the last episode... I saw it coming, almost from the first episode, but, that didn't take anything away from enjoying the show! I'd recommend this show! Even if you're not in the mood for it, watch it... you may just end up changing your mood! :D

Huh! I had to force myself to watch this by fast forwarding!!

huh! - that is the only feeling I have after watching this series. I don't feel anything.

Anyway, to break it down:

Story - seriously, who wrote this one? Sigh! Honestly, I think the story had potential, but then it just became so tedious. FL and ML have a one-night stand as FL's *friend* drugged her and informed the ML that she is a prostitute. And, then she goes away to the states to have twin babies. She comes back for revenge and all this while the ML has been looking for her since he loves her. And the story proceeds from there and how they end up together. The FL kept hating the ML, hating the ML and then loving the ML. I mean - wait, what? When? Why? How?! There was no gradual warming up between the two. The FL just up and fell in love with the ML with no sign of falling in love. huh! I just hated the story. After the 7-8th episode, I literally fast forwarded the rest of the series and still feel like I didn't miss a thing. And, what happened to that dude who worked in FL's office & his boyfriend!? The only saving grace were the SFL(FL's best friend) and SML(ML's step brother) - they had a cute relationship! Plus, I did like the SFL's dedication and loyalty to the FL.

Acting/Cast - Here are more woes! I didn't feel the chemistry at all between the leads. Honestly, I could not feel any motherly/fatherly affection between the lead pair and their kids either. It seemed like the kids were just props there. Don't get me wrong, the kiddos were adorable; the acting of the FL and ML was so unconvincing that I felt bad for the kids.

The background score was okay. Since I forwarded many parts, I can't say much for the music. But from what I heard in the first 8 episodes - it didn't make me feel any more engrossed on the series.

Rewatch Value - 0 - zero, nada, zilch (Had to give 1 in the review since I couldn't give anything lower.)

I'd not recommend this show at all. Even if you're a fan of either of the leads, I don't think this show is enjoyable.

Not bad, but not the best either!

Watching Khing Kor Rar Khar Kor Rang was an experience. I'm going to keep this review short!

The story is interesting & doesn't have a lot of glaring plot holes. A forced marriage set up and how the couple fall in love. The scheming, screaming, crying SFL was convincingly malicious. I absolutely LOVE the Mum-In-Law!! She was brilliant! I wish more dramas showed mothers-in-law this positively!! And, FL's sister and friend too! I liked that there were good, kind and redeemable women around the FL. I loved that though FL's sister was a mistress, she wasn't shown to be stereotypical. It was refreshing to see that her character, albeit sad, was still a beautiful soul. Which is something I appreciated. Nice to see rounded characters that are grounded in reality. The FL was pretty neat, consistent in her urge to win against the ML and I love that she fought back and didn't take crap from anyone!! The ML himself was - meh! I wasn't very impressed with the character. And, the rape scene - huh!! Why?! - I saw the tag and still watched the series, so I know what I was getting. However, after watching the show, I feel like it was completely not needed. The point was for the FL to get pregnant - they could've gotten drunk and spent the night together or anything else! Phew! Rant over.

Acting - Everyone did a great job! I really liked the Pinkploy as Nit. The ML is another story though. huh! Somehow, I wasn't very impressed. The kiss scenes were fake for the most part - but, I wish they didn't make it glaringly obvious that they were fake! And, I was disappointed with the chemistry of the leads. The romance was a bit lacking.
Anyway, everyone did a great acting job in this one. And a huge shout out to The SFL - her acting was on point!

Not much to write about the OST - it was also meh!

And, I'd probably not rewatch as this was a rather forgettable lakorn.

Watch it if you like Film & Amy!

I honestly really loved the chemistry between Film & Amy in Game Payabaht and watched this just for their pairing. The stories and characters are completely different and the romance is more fluffy and playful in Jao Sao Chapor Kit.

huh, the plot is very obvious as stated in the synopsis. FL agrees to be pretend wife until the FL's benefactor, ML's girlfriend, returns. Another reason she does this is to run away from her own arranged marriage. I feel like they could've done a better job with the reasons for the set up. Anyway, over the course of this pretense, ML and FL fall for each other. One thing that struck me as odd was - if the FL really was protective of the ML's girlfriend, she needn't have slept with him. It just didn't add up. Apart from that, the show was quirky and funny in parts. ML's antics were a bit over the top. I'm not sure what genre of comedy they were going for!

Anyway, I watched it purely for the the leads and I think they were cute in this lakorn too. No sizzling chemistry, but it was still sweet and fun. I'd not wholeheartedly recommend this drama to everyone. If you're bored and don't have much other options to choose from or if you're a huge fan of Film or Amy, watch this.

I couldn't finish the drama!

Tl; Dr: I'd not recommend it!

Honestly, the premise was a little interesting at first and got me intrigued. And, the rating was 7.9 at the time when I picked it up. I can't for the life of me figure out how it got such high ratings. Maybe since this is a specific sub-genre of comedy.

Story - FL pretends to be a cook and works at the ML's house to prove that he is not suitable to be her husband, as arranged by their respective families. Everything goes down hill from there. I dropped the series since I got frustrated by how stubborn the FL was. I love stubborn women - I think it is sometimes cute. But in this case, the FL was stubborn to the point of being stupid. Also, why was she getting jealous over the ML when she trying to reject him for marriage? I mean, nothing added up! The ML himself was a bit of a weirdo. He is a psychiatrist and didn't seem to know anything about being a mental health professional. And, I found him to be a wimp. And there was no chemistry - so that was a let down too. And, Why oh Why did they have to use dark makeup to indicate that she was of some 'low' class. I hated that!

Acting - The ML is eye candy, I'll admit (I thought he looked a little like Jin, from BTS - and throughout the episodes I watched, I imagined Jin as the actor! :D). But, aside from that I didn't like the acting. In fact, I didn't like anyone's acting except the FL's grand mom.

Rewatch - If you're a fan of this kind of comedy - then may be. But, I'd not be rewatching this at all.

Music - What? What Music?
