no story about grand wedding. the whole shrek seven devils will make appearance in book 2.5. it's also their first time teaming up together after ascended as gods. but i think you'll be lost if you read book 2.5 without book 2 cause the center of the story will be Tang San x Yuhao (his son in law)

Honestly, the double standard they put on ZDY is very reasonable as she has solid filmography, basically an A-list who won prestigious awards and also a level on her own in filming industry cause no actress/actors born in 90s do as well as her.
Her acting in this drama probably could've been better, maybe her performance isn't as amazing as her usual acting in movies BUT it is still far from being bad. It's still above average and fine. Just that people put her on highest pedestal, therefore when she doesn't meet their expectation they're ready to come at her neck. The pressure is crazy high. If she didn't have that solid background, i doubt people would criticize her lol. It's easy to name idol dramas whose FLs are worse in acting yet people don't care.
This is why it's called "double standard" haha but well it's a challenge that will follow ZDY forever.. she must overcome it herself to fullfill people's expectation if she wants to maintain her reputation. I personally think her acting is fine if we throw away that double standard. However, even though I really love her as Shanggu, I also understand people who put double standard on her cause it's the price for having such fame and reputation. Especially with that background she can lure investors to invest more in her projects which leads to having better quality, etc like this drama for example. it's S+ because of Zhou Dongyu, not anyone else.
