So this drama's native title is actually Three Lives Three Worlds: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. Just like the title says, this drama is divided to 3 lives/arcs but it's linked to each other, revolved around Baiqian.
1st.) Baiqian's life as Siyin/Seventeenth at mt Kunlun as God of War's disciple. It was an introduction to understand better about the concept, characters and its universe so yeah... slow paced. The main villains were born from this arc. To be precise, villains from ghost tribe.
2nd.) Baiqian's life as Susu (mortal/mere human). Something happened to Baiqian which made her become mortal and she would meet Moyuan's twin that only born after Moyuan perished. Yehua's appearance made this drama 1000x better. This arc was the most interesting part tbh, prepare the tissue. Oh, this arc also had its villain. To be precise, villain from celestial tribe.
3rd.) Baiqian's life as a high goddess. The most satisfying part, this badass woman would give justice to unfairness she received from her 2nd life. Had connection with the 1st arc because it was also a part of her identity.
Even if they change the endgame to JiDal, I will never rate this drama above 7.5. I value the process more than the ending and it's been disappointing so far.
Then the problem is your own perception of top rated shows on MDL that the dramas must be perfect in all aspects to get high ratings when in reality, there are various reasons why people can give high ratings to certain dramas although the drama is not perfect. Not only The Untamed, there are many dramas on Top Shows that aren't perfect yet still get high ratings because of those various reasons.
