So it's over now, and I can't say I'll miss it. I like Kych who has proven in projects like the May-December-January movie that he is a first class actor, but he alone can't carry a series with a lousy script, annoying or stupid side characters like Charlie's dad or his best friend, and a partner who looks gorgeous and may be a nice guy, but who just can't act.
The MDL rating algorithm is a mystery. The overall rating of BL series is usually by 1 point lower than the average of the age groups. Here it's the other way round. The rating among those "currently watching" is 7.48, among those who "dropped it" 2,83, and among "verified users" 7.34. In all the age groups the rating is slightly over 7 - so how does all this add up to 8.6, which would mean it's one of the highest rated BL series ever?
I was happy when Beam was announced as a lead actor, because I like his acting, and I'm sad that his talent was wasted in mediocre series. After watching episode 1, I congratulate him that he isn't a part of this lifeless, faceless series. I'll watch episode 2 to see if it gets any better, and because Best/Willi is there whose scenes were the only parts of the show that were at least watchable.
Just like Oxin Films are ruining the most promising Filipino BL couple HiroJericho, Mandee are doing the same to one of the most promising Thai BL couples, YimTutor. What a shame.
Fluke's character is bullied by his schoolmates when they find out he's gay. I've only watched episodes 1 and 2, but it looks like Fluke and Singto may be a couple.
This has been a lovely series of commercials, with a beautiful cinematography, food that looks delicious, and some of the best Bl actors around. The final episode was actually my favourite - the story of the wind and the windmill that takes many hours in "Dangerous Romance", told in 10 minutes. Plus: Dew is so adorable.
Is this meant to be comedy or drama? After episode 8 it looks like the writer couldn't decide. I'm tired of watching drunk guys lying on top of each other blabbing nonsense, and I'm also tired of toxic bosses treating their secretaries as their boy toys. My advice to Shun Yu: go back to your parents' breakfast shop and find a nice guy from the neighbourhood.
I liked the first 2 episodes, but then Charlie was stupid enough to listen to that awful girl and intrude his love interest's privacy, and today we got an episode with just Charlie pitying himself and more advice from that stupid girl. There's only one way to save this series: Give us less of that stupid girl and more of the gorgeous Plantito, and most importantly,, make Charlie grow up.
Time for Perth and Chimon to graduate and be given an adult role. Perth played a university student in Love by…
Perth had a wonderful scene at the beginning of episode 3 of UWMA. It was the first time I saw him (I watched UWMA before LBC), and since then I've thought he's one of the most gifted Thai BL actors. When he played a police officer in "Double Savage", I hoped he'd left high school and college behind, but GMMTV loves to put grown up guys in shorts.
