honestly, I think people get turned off by red flag characters and just rate it low for their own bias lol. I think it deserves a higher rating.

Allen Ren never really captured my attention in his other dramas, but my god, I'm enjoying him so much here. And he looks so good too... I am so distracted. 😔

personally, I prefer iQiyi subs here. the tencent subs are quite bad to me, and it says they're AI translations so 😅

I also believe all the episodes were filmed at the same time, but it's still technically a 'second season' ^^ I just wonder why they felt the need to keep the episode constraint if they knew they would have more room to work with, if that makes any sense. because right now, this show is reeking of 'we are running out of time for the rest of the story so we have to cut and simplify things'

I would really like to know the reasoning behind 23 eps. I assume they'd be able to do another 40 since it's a second season, right? right now everything feels so rushed and sloppily put together :(

I haven't been around much to read in depth discussions, but I do see that many people seem to think this season is lacking. I agree, I'm having a difficult time making it through. at this point, I'm just continuing to watch for XL's scenes lol. I was worried about the episode count compared to the amount of content left in the novel and it seems that fear was valid. 😔

can't forget the "pretending to be a man" trope.. they always look exactly the same but then you have all these other characters believing it 🤣
