The story so far has all been about Cai's confusion. He's never been hit on by a guy and is trying to figure out how he feels about that. And then he gets pressured in ways he's not expecting. I haven't seen Elijah's other work, but here he's doing a good job of portraying that confusion. These people are Catholic which puts an extra onus on being gay. If you have feelings for someone of the same gender, saying so out loud has a fairly high level of gravity. He may well have concerns about how his family will react when and if he needs to reveal that he has a boy friend.

I recommend watching the Reaction videos with the cast on Nung Narong channel. Jame and Tle are great commentators and when you have the stars watching with them there's nothing quite like it.
In the novel, Park did horrendous things. They just didn't show it in the series.
They provided plenty of clues as to there terrible thing that Park did to Wayo, but it wasn't explained. Also, if you watch the last two episodes closely you may figure out that Park had an accomplice. Wayo may have behaved badly using Park to make P'Pha jealous, but what Park did was unspeakable. This will be resolved in Season 3.
