The truth behind Ye Qing Mei's death. She was killed by the Emperor, I think. The identity of the fourth Great Grandmaster - Is he really Eunuch Hong or someone else? The eunuch, was that ot confirmed in Series 1 already? The identity of the woman in the Crown Prince's face-less woman drawings. JOL 1 shows the Crown Prince with his many face-less woman drawings, and his mother (the Empress) finding those drawings and reprimanding him in JOL 2. The woman is the Grand Princess, and that's why the Empress scolded him; it's an unhealthy obsession.
Biggest reason: the influence of western media. When I began watching K-dramas in 2015 I was captivated and often…
you hit the nail on its head - seek to cater too much to the west. kdramas were grittier and yes the violence was in your place not stylised like may western dramas. etflix kill off the flare and the originality
Don't worry, this is the reason I dropped this way back along with poor direction, poor pacing, and tropey storylines.…
yes, too many misogynists, all blaming the woman. Sadly, many cannot seee and undertand why she left in the first place. She was in a drug-induced state when she was told her child was sick (she was lied to but she believed it) and propted to act decisively and immediately. I don't think the female characters were well-written in DY and BOY either, all the focus was on the men and the path to be no.1.
BOY was a superior series and far more interesting. The present series is more a xianxia and uses too much CGI that it's unbelievable and not credible (contra BOY). Many watch this because of the boy candy but seriously, the plot and story line was really not that great - revenge, redemption but despite the claims of causes and consequences, the emperor got a free pass and was even meaner - Langya 'duke' was even sacrificed. He was the cause of his obssession and destroys too many families (just like his father) and yet, bore no real consequences. Maybe, the novelist should be clearer on this line and so should the scriptwriter. As for bromance and loyalty, yes, there was that but somehow convoluted when it is contrasted with good and evil and redemption.
get over the age gap! she’s not 16-17. she’s a grown ass woman with an acting job! people acting like she’s…
Can't understand this obsession with age. Does that matter if the acting, the script or the drama was good? I just started and am not sure if this is any good but will watch the first few episodes to gauge my assessment.
Speculation on No.1: I think it's Mrs Jia. We only have her word that she escaped the massacre with a hurt leg. Why would Mr Jia allow her to live given that she could probably identify him as the murderer? There is also the fact that she killed him outright when the going was going against him - is that not about silencing him as he would be unlikely to stand up to torture as an enemy spy and would then spill the beans? I find it implausible that she would not know of his shady deals given that she is the 'one who must be obeyed' and really, why use the threat of killing her to force the princess to kill herself?
Just netflix an that's why Americanisation of the Asian drama scene is becoming a problem. Just look at Vagabond…
American way - fly a kite and then milk it for umpteen seasons. Look at Squid Games and the spinoffs. Not there for Asian audiences but many Asians flock to Netflix as American must be good. Lots of great korean dramas but now all trying to get netflix money and so sad and tragic that the great, gritty kdramas are becoming rare
Why split the drama? Hate that so many dramas are being ruined because of this.
Just netflix an that's why Americanisation of the Asian drama scene is becoming a problem. Just look at Vagabond and how it ends. The days of good kdramas which are gritty and have an end is now subjected to the marketisation of netflix.
