Thank you for taking the time and answering - really appreciate it! I have often seen on reels how great their chemistry is and which is what drew me to the drama since a long time. But there are other mixed reviews as well - which made me skeptical cause I love the leads as artists through their other works, so wanted to maintain that image.
But your comments really help, adding this to my watchlist to watch it soon. Thanks a ton again!
I have an opinion: why this drama is not doing well in ratings & as expected.
The plot has a lot characters, situations - but when the 3 main leads are discussing it, there is just verbal conversation, no visuals.
Example: When they are explaining that person X has reached out to Y, in order to get the business A under their control; or person Z is plotting something with person B - all this is being said very fast and just in one shot of whoever is delivering the dialogue (mostly LJW).
What could be better is that whenever anyone is giving such lengthy explanations - there could be a flashback, or visuals of those people they are talking about and giving it more action so that it is easier to follow. Right now - even though I love such tight intense plots - but it is very difficult to keep up with characters names and their plannings when only one person is saying it in a monologue.
Giving a close example - Reborn Rich. When Song Joong-ki's character is plotting something or explaining it - it is always shown with visuals. Either he is explaining to his aides using Presentation or there is parallel visual we see of the characters he is speaking of and what actions they are doing. Example: If character is saying X is taking bribes from Y, and planning another thing with Z - all this is shown while we have the voiceover from our main character.
Hence, Nothing wrong with the plot - but rather the execution or screenplay. #IMHO
P.S: This comment is written when I could manage watching till 4 episodes even after taking a huge break after first 2 episodes when it started airing. But I think the above could be one of the reasons why it is not being liked by most people as you'd expect.
Why not? Im Siwan was able to pull off the character of a high school student in his 30s.
Yes, but ultimately he will play a character of a high school student. I guess since K-actors anyways are blessed with young looks no matter their age, and hence can pull off the look and hence this storyline.
But I have seen this man grow - like from a long time now. And not just him, maybe someone like Cha Eun Woo can be a close example or even Byeon Woo Seok, they have had different roles recently - but if you see their works, most would lean towards high school. Playing a character well below their age.
Which is why my comment - I have been seeing this for so long, and it is an acceptable fact. But yes, I guess this is my personal wish that actors that are my favorite like them all get more diverse projects!

My comment is more for the casting director & actors accepting the roles too. You can see it as actors taking roles which is less that their actual age as a challenge - but I feel they have done it already, so personally I'd like to see them more in dramas where they play characters closer to their actual age.
ISW and SKJ are both close to my age - I loved them when they played younger characters as I was that age too when it aired. I guess maybe I want to see them play characters of their own age so that it relates to audience in that genre as well.
For younger age groups - am sure many other talented actors are there and come up and they will fit perfectly and be more relatable. This way everyone also gets change and we have more talented pool of artists to fangirl about :)
PS: Im Siwan's Boyhood where he is playing a High school kid, is one of my top rated dramas and I love that man to bits - for his talent & looks ;) Seo Kang Joon is on same lines for me and I know he would do an amazing job as High School kid.
As someone who highly anticipated this drama, the first 2 eps were disappointing. My advice: Wait for it to finish, or at least complete till 50% then start basis the ratings/reviews then.
Plot-wise as on paper it is very exciting - there is family drama, business politics, bromance/friendship that can be tested, maybe romance. In the end if you like a show - where there are lots of twists and turns because the main leads are trying to one up the other - this is for you. But execution-wise am doubtful basis my own experience of 2 episodes and comments here.
Hence, watch it later as time spent on dramas is also precious :P In the meantime - a close suggestion would be Reborn Rich (if you have not seen it already)
Mr Queen, Move to Heaven, Tomorrow, Reset, Missing: The Other Side Definitely Should Continue Watching!
These are some of my top dramas, that were binged without any sleep (Except 2 that were watched while airing). So am kind of surprised how can someone stop midway for these 😮😮😮
This released in 2021 becoming a posthumous work of Miura Haruma. I am yet to watch this but reading your review and the fact that his parts were the cool ones - makes me feel so happy and sad at the same time.
Happy that his talent lives on and we will continue to appreciate his work. Sad - that I miss him, his talent and will not be able to see any new work.
A person gone too soon, but I will watch the show - to keep his memories alive. Thanks for your review!
So when they progress ahead in their relationship, will the headlines be: Aespa Karina takes her relationship with Lee Jae Wook to the "Next Level" ?
I don't ever understand how am I supposed to react to celeb gossip 🤣 Really hope we can let private lives be private - no matter if celeb or not. Someday I guess
Have seen the stills and BTS on social media - and their height difference & the fun they have with it on set, looks mad CUTE! But have to say this, Kim Hye Yoon must be used to it given she had a similar situation with Rowoon in Extraordinary You, itself 😻
Can't wait for this drama and there better be a happy ending - cause my man, Byeon Woo Seok deserves it! ❤️
I think she did her acting too well - cause I am still seeing her as her character, and therefore feel she is lying in this interview when she says that she tortured herself to act this way 😂🙈
5 June 2024 Update: They are all out on Dramanice! YASSS!

I have been waiting for this drama for so long, love the leads to bits. Really hope this show ends as one of the best dramas of 2024 🤞🏻

This man deserves a happy ending - alive :D

But I feel this kind of silly comedy is needed sometimes! 🤣 Not sure if I will watch this - but excited to see the reception once it releases.

That's some powerful acting!
But i really hope it changes ep 3 onwards - fingers/toes all crossed LOL
