Totally get where you're coming from! I agree to a point — the show definitely could’ve explored the deeper psychological layers, especially with the potential these characters had. But at the same time, not everyone read the novel, so they’re missing the rich inner world the source material offered.

That said, I also get why they went with the fluffier, easier-to-digest route. Sometimes viewers just want a comforting escape — something light and fun. Not every drama has to be a masterpiece of angst and complexity… though it would be nice if more tried.
