Great Drama with a Great Message
I don't normally like romances (with the exception of a few) because they tend to be so infuriating, but I did like this one. This drama tackled subjects that I don't normally see get talked about. I'm a firm believer that you do not need to be in a relationship in order to be happy. That's one of the reasons I really liked this drama. The three female leads all had growth in ways that was unique to them. Ah In was able to find a relationship where her boyfriend respected her pace and her decisions. Ji yoo was able to find a relationship where she had a genuine bond with her boyfriend that wasn't solely related to sex, and she continued to be her. Ha Young's growth was one of my favorite's...while the other girls found relationships, Ha Young let go of relationships and put herself first. She left her old friendship and found friends who genuinely care about her. She also broke up with her boyfriend and pursued her dream of studying abroad. I know that some ppl wanted her to bed back together with Seo Woo but I think it was time for them to break up. There was a lack of communication and trust and they were both unhappy. Ha Young also started to feel more comfortable talking about her problems with her friends and being more open overall. I really enjoyed the message of this drama and I would recommend it.Was this review helpful to you?
Wasted Potential
This drama is genuinely the definition of wasted potential. They had such an amazing idea/concept and could've executed so many different ways but they failed. I want to preface this by saying I love thriller/horror dramas, they are my bread and butter. I stayed up until 2 am binging this entire series HOPING it got better. Let's break down every part where they failed. The main characters lacked so much depth. We don't even know when or how the two leads met. They show a flashback of some trauma that the male lead has but they never go into detail about what is or what happened. How are we, as viewers, supposed to empathize and support the main characters, if we know nothing about them?
This drama was also so infuriating to watch. everyone acted like an idiot. I'm not one to usually criticize the dumb actions of characters in thrillers because they're usually under a lot of stress, but some of the things they did. WOW. The bullies of the group kinda got to do as they pleased with no repercussions. It genuinely made no sense how they got to do whatever and manipulate everyone. The good guys just kind of let it happen. The female lead had her moments where she made some smart decisions, but she was also the type of female lead who was kind to a fault. She let the bully do as she pleased and would forgive her no matter what. The male lead kinda just stood by and let it happen. He "stopped" it a couple of times, but he also just pretended like it didn't happen and he'd be chill with the bully. There are multiple bully groups and it makes no sense how they survived as long as they did. I get that they were manipulative, but how did everyone put up with their attitude for so long. It's usually not as bad in other dramas bc the leads counteract the bullies but the leads in this series are just like bystanders.
This one is minor but it was just kinda like wtf. The sound that's played every time there is an announcement is the same exact sound from "The Purge." That should speak for itself.
I didn't wanna include any spoilers so I'm going to do my best to explain how bad this was. The reveal of the motive of the "antagonist" didn't make sense. To a degree it made sense, but it didn't explain why everyone in the class had to be punished instead of just the bullies.
It's hard to do a review without spoilers especially when I have to explain why things were bad. I just kinda felt sad. I really did want to like this drama and I just felt extreme disappointment. There were also multiple plot holes that I wouldn't be able to explain without spoilers so I'm going to be omitting them. I can't believe I was late to work the next day because I stayed up for this drama. wasted potential and a whole lotta disappointment.

Definiton of Failed Potential
Before anyone gets upset at my review please understand that this review is coming from a place of no bias. I haven't watched anything from this director before, I have not read the manga, and I have no attachment to any of the actors. Full disclosure I have an attachment to 2 actors in this movie but they played (borderline) nameless characters that die within the first 10 minutes of them first appearing on screen. That being said, this movie is just wasted potential. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it but it could've been so much better if it WASN'T a movie. It's already hard in nature to make a written piece of media, into a visual form of entertainment, but to try to cram it all into one 2-hour long movie...wild. I'm a very sensitive person who cries easily at movies...not once did I cry in this movie. Not a single thing affected me deeply because I wasn't given enough to time to form attachments to that character. I wish I could've gotten to see these characters get fleshed out more. The entire movie was just running from one game to another. There should've been gaps in-between for us to learn more about each character. This would've made the deaths in this movie a lot more impactful. But then again, there's only so much they can do with such little time. That's why a show adaptation would've been a much better decision for movie. In conclusion, it was an enjoyable movie but it's hard to form attachments due to how rushed the movie is in moving from point A to point B.
