Let's Go! Lesbians Let's Go!

Really have been anticipating the release of this film, from the first time I came across its trailer through an IG post. Now as it is released in streaming platforms (IWANT): being able to watch a wlw web series based on my country the Philippines, with Filipino actors, staff and places that we are familiar with. It really warms my heart that Filipino LGBT+ members are given proper representation within our own media, added to this on how it tackles topics such as the struggles of PWD's regarding accessibility and understanding from others - which is very prevalent here in the Philippines.

Additionally, This show could be enjoyed by both Filipinos and other International audiences, for its story is very relatable. I had to pause the film multiple times just so I could squeal and giggle, as I watched Luna and Harry's love story unfold.

Props to the cinematography of this film, and its effective use of cinematic elements throughout the film. I am such a geek when it comes to the small details and effective foreshadowing throughout the episodes. (The window panel at EP 1, the plant pot breaking and later on being fixed, etc.)

Overall this show was really nice to watch, finished it within one sitting. Props to Ms. Lovi, Janine and Direk Sam!! for a successful mini series, ultimately winning an award at the Outfest festival. Really recommend this series! an eye opener and such a well-made film.

Light romcom drama with a bit of a twist

yes, i came here for Seo Ji Hye after crash landing, I wanted more of her acting.

the story was kinda normal, the only twist in the drama was that the mains ( Do Hee and Hae Kyung) were "Dinnermates" despite that the series was still enjoyable. all the characters were well portrayed, the cast was also exceptional. cinematography was on point. All in all the drama was wonderful. Wouldn't see myself rewatching it though.

Also wanted to add that "Ah-yeong" (played by Ye Ji-Won) was my favourite among all the characters, her presence in the drama was exceptional. All her scenes were really wholesome, Especially the scenes with Do Hee just watching their scenes together warms my heart.

This is extra but lol the scene where they went on a company trip, and had like this paint gun fight was so extra I was laughing the whole time. Plus everytime "Keanu" comes to the screen this specific like sound plays HAHAHAHA I cant- I just love it.

Anyways would recommend this to people who enjoy light romcom dramas with a bit of a twist.

comfort movie

The movie that made me obsessed with Julia Barreto and Joshua Garcia's pairing (Joshlia). From time to time, I'd always go back to this film whenever I'm in my feels - 'Love you to the stars and back' is definitely one of my all time favorite Filipino movies. It has the right amount of Romance and Comedy, the drama scenes are heartbreaking and will really give you chills. I dare to say this is Joshlia's all time best project.

The movie in general just heals the soul and makes you realize a ton of things, I've lost count of how many times I've re-watched this masterpiece and how much i cried my heart out. This film is really beautifully made and will take you on a roller coaster of emotions along the way.

from the moment i saw the trailer the series was an instant hit, and it did. the cast were tremendous with their roles. i'd like to commend oh jung se playing sangtae cause he did an astounding job. the drama is really an eyeopener to sensitive topics about mental health, social wellbeing and many more. oh and have a mentioned the soudtracks for this drama, literally screams perfection. cinematography on point as expected from tvn. i just want to say that this drama will always have a special place in my heart it really is beautifully made and changed my perspective in a lot of things. 10/10 would recommend for avid drama watchers.

A Shoutout to Female Dance crews all around South Korea

While yes the show tends to focus on the drama within the contestants it sticks to it's core of giving exposure to the dance groups. We can now see how the landscape of these dance crews has widen: through the success of Street Woman Fighter - Dancers are given exposure through variety shows, invited at talk shows, they are even given their own concerts and tv shows. It warms my heart to see these groups and dancers in general to be widely loved and appreciated by the public. The 8 groups that participated have opened a new pathway for many dance crews, as the impact of this show has not only reached South Korea but also world wide.

The show is also somewhat educational and eye-opening, As us the audience are being introduced to the different styles of dancing through the performances of all the groups. I personally am mesmerized with the mechanics of Hip-hop and b-boying.

Although Mnet made it seem like the groups despise eachother - We do see through many moments and their many guestings with each other that this is clearly not the case, We love women who support eachother.

My favs (which no one asked for) were PROWDMAN, LACHICA and HOOK. PROWDMAN came of to me as this powerful and very diverse group, the crew always kept me in my toes as they were very unpredictable throughout the show. I also admire how the crew sticked to their morals and didn't try to conform into the mold of what was 'trendy' [monika pls marry me]. HOOK on the other hand always had happy vibes, whenever you watch their performance you immediately recognize their style, their creativity and concepts shine the most whenever they are on stage. Lastly LACHICA although yes I was one of the people who were put off - of how they were presented at the beggining of the show, yet we can see gradually how loving and caring this group is especially towards the other contestants. They had this popular appeal in a sense that they know what the audience want and they delivery it through their style, Although sometimes cliché - I loved how their performances would always leave you mesmerized.

Let's continue to support these crews through the many shows they will be in!!

how it ends

was super hyped for start up from the beggining from the tearful scenes of their past to the present battle they have to face due to the comeback of their past events, but now in the latest episode i've been really frustrated on how the whole team of dalmi acts (sam sam tech)

1. not consulting their mentor with such a major investment
2. half of them don't even see him as a mentor but a rival.
3. i'm dissapointed with the episode 12 preview of Nam Do San picking a fight with Han Ji Pyeong.
4. And now they're pointing fingers at eachother because the plan went downhill.
5. Ji Pyeong has been guiding them the whole time, i personally can say that without Ji Pyeong the company would go downhill just like what happened in the recent ep of them signing off their company.

i have a lot more but i just want to express that my heartaches for Ji Pyeong, i've been team Ji Pyeong from the start and yes its predictable that they wont end up together in the end no matter how much i stress that they should be. Ji Pyeong dispite from being an orphan (which yes affects people a lot) and going through a ton of life difficulties at a very young age grew up to be the man he is today, an overall better man for Dal Mi than Do San; Mature, Loyal, Stable he even confessed to Dal Mi about his Feelings but he expected nothing in return he patiently just waited never pressured her, He is Wise for his age despite the circumstances he faced and i personally think that he is better man for dalmi in a landslide.

I Hope we get some clarifications on the next episodes i personally just want to watch Halmeoni and Ji Pyeong now,,, i hope the problem with sam sam tech would be fixed and they would realize they should put their ego aside.

may update this review after sometime later xx

refreshing

I can say this Drama is very refreshing to watch from the Creative Dialogue choice, Pastel coloring aesthetic, to the 'Unusual' jobs of the pairing (Female Lead as an Interpreter while Male Lead as an Athlete). The cinematography is beautifully shot, you'd appreciate the attention to detail. I've seen 4 episodes of the show and I can say it has massive potential. Love the leads (Se-Kyung and Siwan) they're oozing with Chemistry - I cant help but giggle whenever they're together on screen.

I'm obsessed with the show, honestly came here for Se Kyung and Sooyoung but really this drama didn't disappoint. Keeping this review short tho, i may update in a while. if you're looking for a light hearted romcom with the right amount of drama and humor than this is for you.

currently binge watching joshlia films and series: For starters this show has the right amount of drama, romance and suspense. Not the usual fast paced dramas- Filipino Dramas tend to be slow paced and builds more on conflict and character development. Overall yes, i love storyline so far (have seen 51 eps; might not update this review) although there are some moments that were predictable, the drama is still really enjoyable. What i love about Joshua Garcia and Julia Baretto's Tandem is that you could really feel the emotions they're potraying, a good example of this is thru this show, there are a lot of heavy and heart breaking scenes of the two one moment ur all giddy and the next moment you'll cry your heart out. Definitely worth the try, wont see myself rewatching this though.
