Title The King's Affection Spoiler
I am guessing Rowoon gave her the antidote to the poison since he is a doctor... She should habe killed her grandfather…
Exactly that part was so frustrating to watch because you would think she wouldn’t waste a second to enact justice but the writers wanted to continue dragging things on

Title The King's Affection Spoiler
The king’s grandfather’s death didn’t make sense to me. Like of all things, he died from getting poisoned? That man was a formidable cunning enemy for most of the drama but he falls for poison? And how did Dam-I survive? Whatever, I’m glad it was a happy ending. All in all, it was a pretty alright show and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have anything better to watch. The acting, OST, and cinematography were all great. The writing and plot? Not so much. It definitely had it’s strong moments but to many it was overshadowed by the bad pacing and not so great screenplay.

It is really sad that you wasted your time in this drama.......but you shouldn't write this negative here......not…

Title Not Me
love how we can relate to white's reactions(the confusion and stuff) with black's world lol
Yeah I like how we’re seeing all this from white’s perspective. We don’t really know anything that he doesn’t know which makes everything more suspenseful

Title Not Me
Pretty good first ep! I like how everything was to the point. I was afraid they might spend more than one episode to get to White changing into Black but luckily they didn’t. Although it did feel a little fast but I didn’t mind tbh.

Was it standard for kdramas from like 2008-2012 to have two absolutely unbearable leads. I’m on ep 10 and I don’t want to drop this just yet bc I have a hope and it’s not been terrible so far but GODDAMN I’m vexed everytime Choi yeong and eui seon are on the screen especially in the last few episodes. And the king gets on my nerves as well. He needs to stop projecting his insecurities on anyone he comes across and invest in a good therapist for the sake of everyone.

Title Bad Buddy Spoiler
The only thing im not very excited for is the whole hidden relationship thing coming up. It’s overused and tired…
Their problem isn’t the social norms though, all their friends and family seem supportive of lgbtq people from what we’ve seen so far. Even Pran’s parents said they didn’t care if he brings home a boy. Their main issue is their friends and family not liking EACH OTHER (for the most part) lol. And ofc not all ppl are brave enough to go against social norms, that doesn’t make me any less tired of hidden relationship tropes in dramas. It definitely belongs in this drama bc of the premise as I mentioned but I’m just not a big fan of watching it. Idk how to explain it but it frustrates me💀

Title Bad Buddy Spoiler
wai has not-so-surprisingly raised so many red flags tonight and that just solidifies that there's more of him…
I feel like his past behaviour was somewhat understandable as it was usually instigated somehow by the engineering students that would provoke him. But that conversation with Pran he had this episode when he gave back the guitar was so weird and jarring, it didn’t feel like him at all to me. But then again earlier that episode he did also ask Pran to fill in for him at the auditions. Maybe this is some sort of start of an arc of their relationship where Wai is asking too much from Pran or something but unless I’m missing something, I don’t remember him being like this in their first year. Even then that conversation just seemed a little on the nose and really strange writing wise. It didn’t really feel like a smooth character progression but more like a really obvious set up from the writers for upcoming conflict.

The only thing im not very excited for is the whole hidden relationship thing coming up. It’s overused and tired but with the premise of this show being what it is, it was bound to happen anyway so I can’t really complain. I just can’t wait until they finally publicly declare their love!!!

Yeah I don’t understand why they do that? The original version is so poetic and conveys an even deeper sense of what Hira really feels. Very unnecessary change.

I’m learning Japanese and I noticed the weird subtitles as well even with really simple sentences. Sometimes it changes the tone/meaning of what was said which causes confusion for the audience. It’s not terrible though and I’m still grateful whoever took their time to translate it did it and thank you for wanting to take up translating it as well.

On A Distant Place Dec 9, 2021
Great cinematography and acting. It’s quite sad and doesn’t try to console us too much with a happy go lucky ride into the sunset ending which is fitting to the tone of the film, but still leaves me wanting to know more and see more. I like how most of the shots were from a far perspective almost like we’re voyeurs peeking into the daily lives and conversations of the characters but never really a part of it, and it also fits the title cause it feels like they really are in a distant place (or maybe we are). I’m not a gay person from rural SK but I think this would probably be accurate to what it really is like being gay let alone a gay couple in a village like that. But for all it’s sadness it’s also a very sweet, heartwarming, and calming story. It honestly has more sweet moments than sad ones. Reading the synopsis again just mademe tear up bc now I get why it says “but the film still believes there is a ray of hope”. That ending scene just became 10x more impactful. Anyway I very much recommend this movie.
