This drama is anything but realistic, imo, it overplays corruption and manipulation tactics in a very classic kdrama way and downplays the emotional/legal consequences of rape amongst other things. watch at your own risk!

as someone who gets immediately bored once the leads get together the pacing of this series is everything i've ever dreamed of

It's just that Earth is so stiff he comes across as very unnatural. He doesn't show a lot of emotion on his face either. He reminds me of Dunk in that way. Mix is not entirely my cup of tea with the overemotional acting but at least he uses his whole body to express himself, and he fits well with the dramatic roles common in Thai shows.

Mix did really well!! Esp when his partner is not giving him much to work with 🫢 You could feel everything he felt, and with their history it did make more sense that JackDean would have a fall out

Whether he did well or not, it felt so out of character for him that I couldn't take him seriously at all..

Did they add a new clause in the actors' contracts that they can't kiss anyone but their partner since OF season one? Because they could've made the two kiss and bring in actually believable conflict, or I guess writing a redemption ark for that when there's only 4 eps left is too complex for GMMTV screenwriters...

I have some thoughts...

1. Does anyone enjoy those forced couple outings that don't add anything to the story? That amusement park montage was way too long and felt like an infomercial, and that weird movie lines questions activity with JackDean was utterly boring omg
2. Using the beaten up sister (btw did we see her before or she just appeared out of nowhere??) to parallel Dean's guilt is such a cheap plot point, why does GMMTV keep doing that
2. Why did I see so many comments raving about the music in this show? Half of the time it sounds like royalty free tracks they got from youtube
3. The way the cheating conflict is brought up is forced asf. With how Tua's personality was introduced, it would make so much more sense if after seeing the video he internalized everything and ran away crying. Jumping on stage and causing a scene doesn't fit his character at all IMO
4. Boston being the most mature person during this whole mess is hilarious
5. I'm happy we're finally getting actual Only Friend s1 style conflict in the next ep but it feels a bit late...

If this scam is real it's so dumb... They waited so long to buy the series and release it that most JeffBarcode fans don't even remember it exists and it's getting almost no publicity due to the current circumstances. I doubt they would profit much from it if they were to release the entire thing tomorrow.

After deciding today was a good day to procrastinate on my exams, I decided to translate the script for the first 8 mins of ep 1 (Thank god they added the KR subs):


1st scene with the police officer(PO) and Wuju (WJ):

- Outside the bakery-

PO: Hey Wuju!
WJ: Hyung! You came?
PO: Wow~

- In the kitchen -

PO: Wuju, this is amazing. The shape of this bread is beautiful
WJ: Try one. Today’s bread is just a test version. How is it?
PO: Erm… The taste is a bit…
WJ: Did I put too much salt? Or is it because of the yeast? Can I open a bakery in this situation?
PO: Wuju, You still haven't opened the shop. Don’t worry, your father left you a recipe book. Make the bread using this recipe book.
WJ: Can I really overcome this?
PO: You can do well right? Let’s try to do a good opening

- Coming out of the kitchen -

WJ: You’re not hungry?
PO: Me? I can eat bread.
WJ: Eh? You said it tasted weird?
PO: You made it though. See you!
WJ: See you hyung!

- WJ alone in the kitchen -

WJ: They sell the best and prettiest bread at Wuju’s right?

RO: Earthling, there are chemicals bursting out inside your body right now. It’d be best if you lower your blood pressure soon. Hachi, How do I say this in this place’s language?
HC: Take it easy
WJ: Do I look like I can calm down? Tomorrow is my bakery’s opening but everything is crashing and burning. What can I do!
RO: I didn’t burn anything. It’s a simple landing accident. Anyhow, don’t worry. It’ll be covered by the space travel insurance.
WJ: Insurance money?
RO: Yep.
WJ: When do I get it?
RO: For the investigation to arrive, in earth time maybe… a year?
WJ: A year? Are you kidding me? I’m opening the bakery tomorrow! Let’s go to the police station right now
RO: Police? *Looks at HC* They will lock us up and dissect us? Is this common for earthlings?
WJ: Hey!
RO: Let’s make an agreement.
WJ: What’s your deal?
RO: There’s money inside the space craft. I’ll exchange it quickly and give it to you before getting the insurance money
WJ: What kind of bullshit is that? That junk car is a space craft?
RO: Yes, a space craft.
WJ: Hey, that’s a car. Where the hell did you learn to speak Thai?
RO: Hachi, this earthling is secreting adrenaline pretty recklessly? He’s so worked up he might scream. Quick, let’s stabilize his neurons!
*Shoots at WJ*
RO: Hachi? Why are you shooting with your gun for?
HC: I didn’t kill him…
*Sirens*
RO: Let’s leave this place for now
*Raon dramatically looks back at Wuju*

That's it for now, I'll go back to studying. Please let me know if someone else translated the whole thing so I don't come back and waste more time on this haha

I think that's the result of a broader problem with GMMTV shows. Over time they've produced so many bls that the common tropes are all well known, which makes them bypass what I see as necessary backstory. Instead of showing us each character's struggles, we're meant to "guess" them, and later on these guesses are confirmed by the actors on livestreams. But we never get actual confirmation in the shows!

If I take Jack, I would've liked flashbacks from his relationship with Dean, since every action of theirs right now is based on previous experiences they had together. But instead we're served awkward and unrelated scenes like them delivering flowers to a random person, something that adds nothing to the story and is probably just meant as empty fan service.

I think that's why I like RomeRaffy the best, because so far every scene they've had was actually supporting the story. Fanservice works best when it actually moves forward the plot, and it's not what I'm getting from the other couples... And why I would like more of these twoㅠㅠ

I agree that RomeRaffy's storyline isn't that bad, but I feel like they could've fleshed out his character a bit more so we understand his actions better. Or maybe I'm just a bit biased because I want to see him more lmao

But for example they could've shown his reaction after being so mean to Rome, I'm sure thinking back he felt bad about it, since he probably has some feelings towards Rome already. I want to see more angst!!

Raffy paired with Clueless and Legally Blonde is hilarious

Wait in this trailer Arnold openly goes after Dean o.o That would've been interesting...

I think S2 tried to make Raffy act like Ray with Pete's birthday scene, he was clearly upset Rome would be with someone else there. But the writing being so bad this season they just weren't able to fully convey Raffy's complex feelings for Rome yet..

They cemented the ships so hard there's sadly not a single possibility of cheating here
