I don't disagree but I don’t want to see a lot of 50 plus episodes for a proper flesh out story, that is a lot…
Haha I agree, I definitely don't have that much time to spend on a tv series anymore either. But surely there's a just balance between the two extremes. Recent K-dramas average 10 1-hour episodes, I think that makes more sense especially for a detective story!
They potrayed their characters well though but I however agree with you, it has become near impossible to see…
Ah it's hard to give recommendations that will live up to The Untamed, but I think exploring censored Chinese BLs might be a good option. They had to figure out ways to fully convey romance without skinship. I personally really enjoyed Guardian, as well as The Spirealm.
I just want to note that I enjoy NC too, it's just a different set of emotions. I also agree that the actors in The Prosecutor's Proposal did a great job with what they were given, especially Kim Yoon Sik. I was just taken out towards the end because they fell in love way too fast.
You guys know why The Untamed is my favorite BL? There are no kisses, barely any hug, most of all no NC... but the story was so fleshed out, the relationship progressed so naturally over those 50 episodes, that when you arrived at the end you could actually feel the love both leads had for each other, and it was beautiful.
These kinds of stories cannot be rushed. I'm fine with high school or university BLs having shorter run times, because puppy love is innocent, young people fall in love faster, it is believable. But two grown men, working on a major -and stressful- detective case, falling this hard after two one night stands? No, I do not believe it. I couldn't take any of their emotions seriously aside from lust, because at this stage that is all they should be feeling for each other, if we are being honest. I'm happy BL is moving on from the classic tropes to be in a bit more daring territory, but it is about time we get a proper runtime for a more fleshed out BL.
At least Zhen is like "we are together six months but only meet once a month.".. 6 times isn't much but…
I'm hoping Zhenxin's gf isn't the one who made their relationship public, her speech about choosing happiness was really too good😠I was like finally a woman who prioritizes herself first!!
objectively Zhenxin is the main one in the wrong here, he was trying every trick to have sex with Zhangzhun while sweet talking his gf 😒 Zhangzhun isn't much better but at least the visible inner turmoil he's in makes up for it a bit
Just tried watching All Of Us Are Dead and now I'm back here to say that Newtopia is the superior zombie series. Goes to show MDL ratings aren't to be trusted...

The girls are always eavesdropping and giggling it's funny!

but tbh it's kind of obvious until now, his personality isn't consistent at all, and he sometimes has that smirk... foreshadowing for sure.
