i think he is pretty consistent. He has always wanted her to have a smooth and peaceful life. but whatever happened…
Unfortunately dramas like that sell, through the ages...especially if well executed 😂 And there will be many 'idiots' (like us) following through with this trope. Maybe deep down, we all wish there is this amazing, handsome guy in our lives who would give his all to protect and love us at all cost 🤷♀️ Or maybe the director knows, viewers will root for the self-sacrificing dude and watch to the end hoping for things to work to his favor.
The question is a bit subjective...what is toxic and/or dark may not be so for another. I can't watch horror movies,…
Have fun. Hope you don't lose too much sleep over it :)
Really should have advised you to start next week after all the episodes are out so that you don't have to agonise with the cohorts over the slow release.
The sweetness is so overboard, I just have to stop after pushing to 20+ episodes.
FL is endlessly giggly, bright eyed with princess like expectations especially after ML confessed *groan * I generally enjoy ZJM's dramas but I cannot take the madness of this over-fluffed character here.
I don't get the chemistry either. Apart from their first meeting which impressed the ML, what made the ML so 'in love' with her? I understand that he is initially obsessed with blaming her, but how did that flip 180 to 'I will get over it, and pursue her because I am so in love with her'? What led to that? I just don't get the process and don't sense the chemistry building up to that.
Also, everything seemed so one sided. This goes back to the lack of chemistry build up. He did so much to impress and pursue her. What did she do to make him so infatuated? He seems to be endlessly giving, while nothing came from her end.
Other thoughts; being a fan of SWL, I loved seeing him on screen again. I have to say I did wish they gave him a more sexy car than the old fashion mercedes. Also did not like the OST.
For now, I just - have - to - go before I die of diabetes.
I’m threading very carefully here (trying to find out a bit more about this drama to see if it’s worth watching)…
The question is a bit subjective...what is toxic and/or dark may not be so for another. I can't watch horror movies, my brothers loves watch horror and laughs at them while I freak out. Try 1 episode and take it from there.
So much energy here, it's enough to power a mini nuclear reactor *lol*
I miss the sweet 14 year old Miao Jing when we were all rooting for the young teenager collecting recyles and trying so hard to make life work. Now we are all angry with her *lol*
Maybe we should all ease up here.... neither we nor the actors/actresses have any say on the direction of the story, but we are all getting so riled up.....:)
Yeah something i have noticed in the comments also is people saying MJ taking risks putting herself in danger…
Yea, we still don't know what happenned with the fire....or what exactly happenned to him during those 6 years (apart from some violent flashes)...or what happenned to the lovely policeman's wife. I hope they don't give us a rush ending and wrap everything up in the last 2 episodes. I will need to sue for emotional damage if that happens.

It's not the same. He was only entangled with Zhang Bin because he had little to no options to raise crazy amount of money to put MJ in school. He had no education and despite doing several jobs, there just wasn't enough money for her (school, medical (remember her surgery?), food). She on the other hand is a high flying graduate with many job options. And now, the only reason CY is properly back working for ZB is because of MJ.
I was thinking when i wrote an earlier comment since MJ came back has Cheni Yi started a single conversation with…
The drama is actually following the novel in that regards. SWL has a nice YT interview explaining the character; his father had essentially destroyed his self esteem and he has lost hope of his future after not making it to police academy, and of course with all the violent trauma, and growing up with the town looking down at him like some stray dog (remember what the joss stick seller said?), he thinks he is unworthy of the successful MJ. He clearly described his life as trash, and that she doesn't need to live like him, just before he kissed her in ep 17. The drama tried to convey some of these messages but perhaps it didn't come across well enough. I appreciate the drama much more after understanding the novel. Traumatised people don't react like normal people.
One thing personally for me right now, is at times fl does come off as a little hypocritical. She asks ml in ep…
I do wish there is a little more for the ML. The giving seems very one sided and it's starting to annoy. If not for the FL, his life would not even be in the mess it is now.
She demands, teases and leave him in the cold....
She asked him to leave Zhang Bin, and ML has been resisting the older man. The irony is, he ends up being entangled with ZB because of the FL AGAIN, because she refuses to stop auditing the company. From the start, if not for FL's school fees, he would not have needed to work for ZB in the earlier episodes and endure all the trauma. Now he is back in ZB's clutches because of her. He had little to no choice to raise so much money when he was a teenager, where else, she the highflying graduate has plenty of choices.
The kiss in the car - I don't get the squeling and swooning comments over that one. it wasn't because she wanted to have a nice moment with him, half the time, her eyes were looking out for the bad guys. Again he was just used as a 'convenience' to get out of a mess. Enough of flirting while leaving the guy to hang dry becomes off putting.
It's a novel adaptation, it's just a drama, but I guess many are vested in the characters....and we do root and feel for the characters overtime.
Folks, please report users that are repeatedly using inappropriate language and personal attacks. It's really…
Folks, just ignore the toxic people. These losers have probably run out of people to argue with in real life, so they've come here desperately fishing for attention—no matter how pathetic or sadistic they have to be to get it. They're simply not worth another second of your time.
Just watch, the psycho will probably prove the point by replying again. 😂😂 Nearly funny watching the psychotic rage.
My last post regarding this loser....What a waste of time.
