The plot is so twisted and provocative that viewers are unable to decide cohesively if ren susu is selfless or selfish. If the aim is to keep everyone engaged albeit divided and ever debating, it is working
Can someone please explain the end of ep 14 for me? Why did MJ made CY meet her at the garbage site? I don't get her point. It pains me to see him always going frantic thinking that she is hurt...the poor guy was going through trash in the dark and rain, only for her to say she hates him. Ouch....did not like that scene. Was that necessary on her part?
I started this drama because it is suppose to feature a love story between 2 of my fav leads: ZLH & WCR...I expected some heavy scenes since it is in the Republican era....but this drama is bonkus. Every single episode is filled with dark twists and turns, and you can never feel 'happy' at the end of any single episode as they are just laced with torture, abuse and beating, back to back. I thought the acting was good. but just have to stop this torture porn....and wait for another more pleasant drama. I didn't start a drama of my favourite people to feel 'disturbed' every day.
I understand why it may look contradictory at first, but I think Miao Jingβs choices make much more sense when…
I agree a lot with basicquestion1 first response.
l would add that from my view, Miao Jing never said that she was coming back to start a romantic relationship with Chen Yi. She had always said that she was coming back to help him get out of the 'dump' in Teng Cheng. For all she knows, she could have come back and found Chen Yi married with kids. As far as both are concerned, they have moved on....with life and relationships.... coming back was out of her bond and fondness for the boy who was left behind in a rough city, and she would try to get him to a better life/city if he was still living a difficult life.
Finally finished this drama and it was a real struggle to get through. I am honestly disappointed. Maybe it just…
I'm with you. The story felt draggy after ep 17.... I think this is one of SWL's best performance but the storyline just didn't work for me in the second half.
Can they please give Zhang Ling He better parents? His parents in Our Generation were just awful as well. I am traumatised. Thank goodness he seems to have nice parents in real life.
Gosh the cruelty and violence is nearly too much for me π’ Even the main character, apart from the brother, is there even one nice person to Murong QingYi? So painful to watch
2 episodes in and I am enjoying the drama. Directing is a bit choppy but I like the acting, tension, and the story so far.
I look forward to the coming episodes to see how it all unfolds....I mean, can anyone guess where the story might lead? It is unpredictable and that is one very good aspect......Tired of predictable, happy dramas. I mean with dramas like PoJ, you KNOW the ML will leave FL at some point, you know He will go back to the palace, you know he will take down the baddies....This one? Take a guess.....
I also like the acting and the visuals. Wang Chu Ran is so pretty in the qipao. ZLH's emotions are raw and on point. I like their edgy dialogues. He says so many things that bites but only FL can understand and not anyone around them.
Both the leads have complex and layered characters. Will take some strong performances to flash these out. ZLH is definitely delivering. WCR could be better but is ok.
Last point, I am glad that so far ML's brother is marrying FL out of duty. I like him. It would be too sad if he loved the FL.
you are a yang yang fan and you came here to criticised weilong? girl yang yang also gets flamed for his bad acting…
It's not about attacking. It's about expressing dissatisfaction about certain drama aspects. If you don't like other actor's performance, you can well express it, RESPECTFULLY. In your narrow world, only good things can be said about your beloved actors?

One man's meat is another man's poison. I am a SWL fan but his performance here just don't cut it for me too. It's not bad but I have seen him in better.
Give other people room to express how they feel, especially if done respectfully. It's healthy to agree to disagree.

Acting, visuals, story direction are all good for me. Directing is a choppy but I like that it is different. OST also creates the right tension.
Also watching Love for you. And That OST did not work for me π To each his own. I will keep chomping on this one
