i first thought 2ndFL might turn out to be a bad character but it doesn't seem so. I m really glad on that part.…
I'm starting to think that their movie is gonna reflect exactly what'll happen in real life. Likely seoyoung is gonna slapped by daeum ...a friend turned foe? Idk im really hoping she isnt tho

I don’t get it why the rating is not moving!
I’ve learned that whatever has a low rating on MDL is probably really good ehe

I never thought of it that way, that’s actually interesting!
just for the sake of discourse tho I feel like he would’ve then pursued it if that were his mindset? He seems to be adamant on pushing her away and to me it seems like he doesn’t want to be his father 2.0 and he also is very guarded with his heart. I don’t think he’s readily wanting to fall for her it’s happening against his will in a way. Like the night she confessed to him and he harshly rejected her, he cried in his room so he’s going through it. I also think he MIGHT have fallen for her if she were in a regular situation just bc he seems to be in love with her mind and the way she thinks and the words she says. It’s not like an ordinary superficial sort of connection it’s like she opens a door he kept closed for so long. As for seoyoung, they had a situationship. We saw her going to kiss him and him turning away so he drew a physical line but maybe not an emotional one. I think she’s lost and she doesn’t know what she wants so she’s seeking comfort in jeha but he’s not biting. She also probably has a sense of “he was mine first” or possessiveness over him and she’s struggling with it. I really hope she isn’t going to be an obstacle.

Very disappointing performance so far. Can't remember the last time Namkoong Min's drama did this poorly in viewership,…
I think for a Melo like this it’s doing pretty decent. It’s also on Hulu and Disney plus which are streaming services so the ratings don’t translate the same I think?
My dearest did really well but that’s probably bc of the genre, it’s very widely appreciated. Slower sad melos aren’t everyone’s cup of tea I guess but they missing out…the direction in this is so good it’s like reminiscent of older movies to me

Oh yeah for sure like why is the makeup lady stirring a pot that doesn’t need to be stirred. Like even if it’s obvious she’s gossiping with no authority to even do so. And it also annoyed me that she’s telling the cameraman to watch the director and the actresses to prevent a scandal? Hello? Who even are you ? Pissed me off fr

omgg I was drawing that connection too! it's very reminiscent of Lost for me too...just the way they look at each other is enough tbh no words needed...like the acting in that drama and this drama are so good

to be honest ...and you can disagree lol but I think he knows his feelings bc he's very thoughtful and clearly someone who lives in his head a lot. He definitely is aware that he's falling for her which is why he's trying to draw a line to stop it for so many reasons. One being he doesn't want to be his father, he also doesn't want to be a copy of that other director who had an affair with his actress (you could see how uncomfy he became when they spoke of that during the meeting), and he also doesn't want to get hurt bc he knows she's going to die. But him answering seoyoung's question at the dinner is also affirming that he's aware he's falling in love

I'm glad that I was wrong about Je Ha trying to protect Da Eum from "herself". But now we're halfway through and…
I think the makeup lady saying that is to show that what Daeum and Jeha have isn't just in their heads, it's a very visible spark. Like have you ever been in a room with two people who have an unspoken thing for each other lol ...it's SO painfully obvious after a couple minutes to everyone but them. People close to Jeha already know a side of him that carries cynicism towards love so they have this bias and won't pick up on it or if they do they'll brush it off. The make up lady however is like sort of an outsider so she's saying what she's seeing. I think the writers did that intentionally so I don't really mind it. The college classmate tbh I think it's a mix of hurt bc she thought they were friends maybe but also just PLAIN jealousy. We see her jealous daeum was a straight A student and now she jealous bc she's been in the industry and Daeum is this "random" whose suddenly once again one-upping her. but yeh get a grip fr... and Seoyoung I genuinely think they're slightly misleading us as an audience... seoyoung is complicated bc she loved Jeha and thought she could go back to him at some point maybe? so its again some jealousy mixed in bc characters all carry flaws but I dont think she's bad...hopefully

ML character is such an inscrutable robot, so glum. I can’t figure him out.
He's a classic "artist"...but he's cold only on the outside if you see his actions he's almost caring to a fault that even FL's dad seemed to have caught on to it which is why he gave up and allowed Daeum to continue. He saw bits of himself in how Jeha was caring for her.

ofc I cant be 100% sure but I really think there will be bc of how they're building up the tension. They had a kiss that wasn't acknowledged as a confirmation of their feelings...it was chalked up as "practice" ....and jeha has to confess so when he does I think they will.

They make the previews misleading on purpose like today's episode's preview they made it seem like Jeha was set on taking Daeum off the movie but in context it's only if it becomes dangerous for her which is a given. They'll have more dw bc it's genuinely impossible for them to not...kdrama hardly ever deviates from their baseline formula bc they know what works

This drama is doing the longing glances so well. NgM really is a phenomenal actor and I knew that from My Dearest but the way he's getting across so much just with his eyes. Jeha is a man of few words bc his face says the rest of them. But genuinely a lot of actors can't do this. JYB is also well matched in terms of acting which is refreshing bc it's so frustrating to watch a kdrama where only actor is pulling the weight. She also knows how to say so much with just her face and her trying to laugh while about to cry is so realistic. The pacing is also really good. It doesn't feel like we're running too fast or dragging which is also hard to do with this sort of genre.

Anyways I think we need to have consensus that Jeha has been enthralled by Daeum since the grape juice...

After today’s episode, I have a feeling the direction has changed. There won’t be a relationship or more confessions…
I disagree bc respectfully that wouldn't make a good drama and it's kdrama so there's a formula here. We have them slowly falling in love, and now it's starting to get to a point where it's obvious to everyone that they have a thing for each other. He rejected her bc he's afraid and he's got a bit of that cynicism when it comes to love bc of his dad, but you see it being slowly torn down by his feelings for daeum. He had to reject her bc that's in line with his character but let's also recall him giving in and kissing her. He's very aware of how he feels but he doesn't want to be the archetype director falling for his actress on top of trying to do the right thing. I do think that they'll have a relationship bc it's "our movie" as in life imitating art. He's going to love her despite knowing that she's going to die. I think he's actually been misunderstood by people. He feels very deeply which is why he puts up a cold front to protect himself. He doesn't believe in fairy tales or superficial love, but a love that transcends sense.

I actually really like the premise of the kdrama....men like that I highly doubt exist irl but whatever keep raising my standards I guess.
I saw some people getting a bit annoyed with the FL but given how she is the CEO of a company and we also got some backstory about her dad her character makes a lot of sense. Her life and her circumstances have made her hyper independent and it's a real thing. A lot of people have a hard time letting others in or letting people help them because of past traumas and also feeling like they have to take responsibility for everything. I also understand her being upset with Yoo Eun Ho bc who would want to be looked down on especially after putting so many hours into their work. And again, he's a man who just doesn't exist. The way he listened and changed and the acts of service??? crazy stuff..

The pacing does feel a little slow but it's only been two episodes and it's a 12 episode drama so I think it'll start picking up a little next week.

Acting wise YYS did an amazing job. He showed great range in all good scenes. I don't know if it was intentional…
fr I think he showcased a lot of range here in this drama to where he really stood out. Ive seen a few of his other work too but this one hits diff lol. CSB to be fair she was a mute character for like half of it but I think she did pretty well with that especially given that she learned sign language for her role too. She was also a little more "stoic" in terms of her character because of trauma and expectations put on her and you do see her break out of that half-way through so I'd say that was probably a character choice. I think both of them did very well to where it felt real haha even in the 12th episode (that mess) its their acting that saved it otherwise idk wtf that was until the last half.

Korean speakers have said repeatedly that Netflix translated it wrong. https://mydramalist.com/766179-the-number-you-have-dialed#comment-20130998
I'm not talking about the link above...I translated it for myself bc I couldn't believe my eyes tbh (not google translate) and I know a native Korean speaker. You could actually learn the Korean alphabet real quick and just read the background of the scene with the arrow for yourself and you'll understand. I don't give a damn about the show, I just think we shouldn't hate especially if its not deserved or due to misunderstanding... all peace and all love I'm not in opposition to your views regarding real life events, those are also my people

hmm more like theyre saying that the ratings here don't really have much of an effect on the drama at this point especially given that it's already garnered success and a lot of profits...if we want the translation to be fixed and for there to be an official apology and clarification we should focus the energy on holding the right people accountable. Doing it here is just barking up the wrong tree and creating fights

They don't seem to be mad, I think they're just stating the facts and their opinions just like everyone else which they are entitled to. There's also a lot of misinformation being spread and it doesn't make sense to incite backlash where it isn't deserved right? It's perfectly fine to be upset I was too until I saw the actual proper translation. It doesn't make sense to be upset about something that isn't even true?
