With literally anyone else it works but not with your math teacher but whatever it aids in the ridiculous comedy. I found her confession so funny. if someone confessed to me like I think I’d actually find it so adorable like what a creative way to express your feelings.

He said his answer to her absolute value problem was the promise they made ten years ago. She was crying bc she did bad on a math test and he taught her and she said she’d show him her full 100% next time they met. Lol but she was at 4/100 when she met him again. So essentially she’s the reason why he aspired to be a teacher, and influenced who he is. She’s just special to him.

I think it's pretty simple and obvious as to where they stand with each other. He is not saying "no" .... the other girl he was very direct, and he is usually very direct so him to not be saying anything to her is a pretty obvious answer. Not necessarily "yes let's be together forever and ever" but its mutual admiration and with an open ending it leaves room to grow. The writer and director can't be outwardly putting them into a relationship that would be absurd.
She's also acting so jealous which is so funny but he doesn't say anything he's just listening and laughing. Very show not tell. The first snow symbolism goes hard too....HA

See the thing is I wouldn't mind them having a time jump and then reconnecting later once she's not a kid. Right now her liking her teacher is majorly because he makes her feel safe enough to be vulnerable and has shown himself to be dependable. So yes her affection towards him at this stage is not really romantic it's admiration and respect.

But I will say.... bruh they have good chemistry on camera, both synergistically and then just the way they bounce off of one another in scenes, it's very fluid and natural. Even the comedy is so naturally funny which is refreshing because there's such a lack of that in shows these days.

Absolute value is just a distance from 0...sooo it's always a positive ...soooooo who knows ....

I mean I think the ratings make sense given the cast and the material. They're great actors and it's monarchy in modern day so it's fun to watch. It's crazy though how a lot of us get flamed for voicing an opinion that may not be popular on a MERE drama! 😆

Hmm okay, I hear you… I’m one of the infamous “lack of chemistry” people over here. What can I say? I’m addicted to the rush 🙂‍↕️
I do agree with you that genuine romance grows gradually, and in real life, that’s usually what lasts longer than a fleeting three months of fire.
For me personally, though, “chemistry” isn’t just pure passion. It’s more about the tension, not in a suggestive way, that you feel when two characters are on screen together. Of course, that’s subjective and varies from viewer to viewer. Some people pick up on it, some don’t.
But that’s what makes dramas interesting. They’re there to be revisited. Some shows, it took me a few rewatches to fully appreciate them. I guess some stories don’t hit immediately, they pique our curiosity first, then grow on us with time.

I like the actors and want to give it a fair chance. People can continue watching out of curiosity, for the cast, for the story, or in the hope that their perspective changes. That still doesn’t mean they can’t say what isn’t working for them at a given moment. Watching something and critiquing it aren’t mutually exclusive 😆

Ok THANK GOD there's no REAL romance between them. I feel like if there was it would've become icky as hell. BESIDES I think pure romance dramas themselves are best right up until the leads get to together and then they're lovey, gross, and boring.

There's ofc still elements of romance regardless in the drama especially with her crush and her BL because that's the point. It's youthful and coming of age. Lowkey though, director needs to explain that Pythagoras line he said while they were at the cross walk 🤨

I really think there's a time jump especially with what the Japanese teacher said and all the hints there were about him wanting to go research. See it wont be horrific after a time jump cuz their age gap isn't ridiculous OUTSIDE of context. I'm not sure though if that's the route they're even taking. This drama is just funny as hell

I'm saying irrespective of his acting he's a genuinely good looking dude...like sometimes you get used to people's faces but he's like consistently good looking

And yes youre so right about the acting. I love the way he portrays this character, it's so natural. It like you're actually watching a person rather than someone repeating words written on a page. He also has so many expressions, it refreshing because a lot of actors not just in Kdrama but in general are so focused on serving for the camera that they give little to no depth to their characters by refusing to lean into various expressions or mannerisms.
I appreciate too how they wrote the character because the way he acts is also consistent with his personal backstory... he's the youngest brother of a three older sisters and you see how headstrong they are so its inevitable he's the same in that sense.

this has nothing to do with his acting lol but some actors, the more you see them the less attractive they get, but he gets cuter ..good for him
