a lot of issues but somehow still worth it
this drama is a mixed bag for me, in a way that makes it hard to give a single straightforward opinion. starting with the good, the chemistry between the leads is definitely the backbone of this show. their dynamic feels lived in and the slow build of their relationship, especially in the high school arc, is handled with a surprising amount of care. the cinematography also deserves a mention, there are several scenes, particularly outdoor ones, that are shot so beautifully they elevate moments that might've otherwise felt average on paper. the ost fits the tone well too.that said, the writing isn't without its flaws. once the story moves into the adult arc, the pacing starts to feel inconsistent, some episodes drag while others rush through what should've been bigger emotional moments. a few character decisions seem to exist purely to create conflict rather than make sense for who these people are. side characters in particular get the short end of the stick, several of them feel like they're there to serve a plot function rather than exist as fully realized people.
despite all that though, i personally enjoyed this drama a lot more than the flaws probably suggest i should have. there's something about the overall feel of it that just worked for me, even on episodes where the writing frustrated me i still found myself looking forward to the next one. it's not a flawless show by any means and there are definitely moments where the script could've used another pass, but if you go in expecting a romance driven watch then you will definitely enjoy this.
