One of the best bl's to ever exist.
I usually never give something such a high rating unless I think that it is deserved. I believe this bl is one of the best series you could ever possibly watch. The relationship between the characters is healthy and written exceptionally well. The actors have fantastic chemistry, which ties the entire story altogether. This is one of my favourite series as it has one of the best LGBTQ+ represented storylines. It's made specifically for the lgbtq+ community! It has no stereotype, no "I don't like men, I only like you" trope, no internalized homophobia and no commercial/fan service soft porn. One of the best! I recommend this to everyone. The biggest no homo BUT it’s a masterpiece.
I’ve read the novel and got concerned at how they will adapt a show that has gay romance as the core plot of the story, however, I was shocked to watch this show and discover the bromance which somehow passed the censorship. Though they never disclose the fact that they are in love with each other, the show directors filmed in such a way to show the close relationship between the two main characters without making it straightforward. After you watch it, you can clearly say “they are in love” rather than a scope of friendship. It’s simply genius. Such a soft bl, I was smiling so much during lan and wei’s moments. I am absolutely obsessed with this show that I watched the anime, read the novel and rewatched this show about 6 times. Very beautiful and a personal favorite for a lot of people (including me)
I told the sunset about you is my first ever bl, and my expectations went off the roof. The story touches everyone's heart. The way they explore the character's sexuality to how they portray the struggles of that aspect is just written and directed well. In many elements, this story is very realistic as it shows disagreements, understandings, imperfections and a real story of coming of age. Every character is beautifully written and portrayed, and this series felt like a hug to my soul. It's also very comforting and easy to watch. More of a meh than wow to be honest!
So before I do write anything, I kept in mind that this bl was made back in 2014, which is such a long time ago. It is also considered one of the classics, so I decided to watch this series with an open mind. I want to mention that the first two episodes are terrible and, therefore, very confusing. I think the actual story starts at around ep. 2! Overall, I wouldn't say it was unwatchable, but it was missing a ton of elements. The story has so much potential, but the execution was very mid. I was surprised to see many people loving this bl, but it is understandable as it is a classic. I also couldn't care for the side stories because they were irrelevant to the story. Overrated and VERY unethical!
TW THIS SHOWS HAS: rape, sexual abuse, harassment, incestDon't get me wrong, I love the relationship between the actors in real life, but oh no, this is entirely different. I think I know why this series is extremely popular; it feeds people who fetishize gay relationships and enjoy watching commercialized fan service (the overuse of sex scenes). There were so many borderline rapes and non-consensual sex scenes that I almost felt highly disturbed. In this series, the main character had childhood trauma where he was raped as a child by a man and therefore grew hatred towards gay men. This is a character justification, but the way the Thran kept forcing himself on Type (evident as Type is always uncomfortable); made it so disrespectful to the people who might've had such experience in real life. For a "good guy" like Tharn, he molested Type during his sleep? Lord! At first, you can see that Type was scared. Then, the next day, Type had no issue with getting a blow job from his hated gay roommate (Tharn) (?); later, TYPE comes out and asks Tharn for anal sex (with Type as receiver), and said "get it over with, once and for all." We are talking about a childhood rape victim? is this not disrespectful? Additionally, Tharn going along with this was almost as unbelieving!! It was so unethical and plain right horrible.
I skipped so many parts of this series. Relationship wise? Fights. Fights. and more fights! Their entire relationship revolves around yelling and lack of communication, which became highly toxic over time. They almost make up for their arguments by having sexual interactions. You can not tell me this series is NOT for a specific target audience because it is. There is almost NO character development between characters. The reason why I am voting for this series as a 1/10 is that I do not support the unethical and inhumane ideology in this series. I can't believe this series is voted as an 8/10. Compared to "Bad buddy,"? Such a disgrace.

Not bad but not great.
I enjoyed the story! It was such an exciting concept! I understood that the production value for this show was high. They filmed this series on a high budget, but the series left me with mixed feelings. While watching the show, I couldn't care less for the extras and side stories + the trouble that the main character faced; I wished that they focused more on the romantic interest aspect instead of the other problems put forth towards the characters. Overall, many people might enjoy this show because it's very light-hearted (and also easy to watch). However, I just thought the concept was a little unsatisfying to watch. The writing was clumsy, cliche and consistently fell short of exciting. Otherwise, It's a one-time watch for me! It's undoubtedly entertaining.Was this review helpful to you?
Overhyped and a show to feed the fetishizers. Disappointed.
Oh lord, where do I even begin? I am extremely disappointed with this show that I can not simply put it into words. The storyline is nonexistent and if someone asked me what the story of kinnporche is, I will be brain dead trying to explain. The relationship between pretty much all characters (with their lovers) revolves around sex and I KNOW for a fact that this drama is famous for its explicit sex scenes. It even glorified sexual abuse, rape and torture like what the hell man. Literally WHAT is the story of this drama? Characters forgot about Pete and that’s a reasoning for his storyline? When Pete returned back to the gang, no one cared? I hated it wholeheartedly. I will continue to watch until ep 14 but don’t expect me to watch this show at season 2. I am not coming back. If you actually want to watch a good show that show cases a pure love story, watch the shows untamed, manner of death or bad buddy. Not this. Impossible not to cry
I am not sure how exactly to put into words about how I feel towards this series. I am currently extremely overwhelmed with emotions that I’ve just now finished sobbing. I rarely cry over TV shows but this really touched my heart in ways I am unable to describe. Perhaps it’s the accurate and realistic representation of life that touched me. Perhaps it’s the way they portrayed human life. Perhaps it’s relatable of losing a loved one. Whatever it might be, this story overall is just incredible. It seriously touched my heart since episode 1. Overall an incredible experience. Really recommend this to everyone. Just a warning tho, it’s impossible not to cry while watching this.Was this review helpful to you?
Eh, not bad but not great either
I am not sure why the reviews for this series are incredibly high (?) I had very high expectations but ended up disappointed with the plot. It was rushed and made no sense (especially the ending, it seemed like fan service). As a watcher, I couldn't care less for the side characters as they didn't enchant the plot in any way. It felt like they were dragging the show time with those different stories. I skipped so many parts of this series that I only genuinely enjoyed a few aspects of the show. Many people preach this drama as it shows the BL industry's realistic sides, but it is honestly just shallow, and the story went NOTHING in-depth about how it is. Overall, it's a one-time watch for me. Just don't have high expectations, it's not THAT great, but it is still watchable.Was this review helpful to you?

Let me say this. If you have nothing else to watch and feel bored, then I would recommend this. I wouldn't note that this series is a MUST watch but hey! If you have nothing to watch, go ahead and give it a try. The main problem with this series is that AFTER they get into a relationship, they cut down the chemistry between the characters. There is a lack of intimacy between the characters. I don't mean sex or kissing scenes (note: you don't need these aspects to showcase intimate moments between characters), but they act more like brothers than lovers.Moreover, the side stories are okay but I did end up skipping a lot of the side stories since I was simply uninterested. Since this series is top-rated, I would like to tell the watchers to lower their expectations. Don't expect too much! Honestly, this series is just a chill watch. Nothing too extraordinary and nothing too blunt can be expected. It's ok, not bad.

The only flaw in this show is there is no story pace value.
You get what you get, just as the description of this series mentions. In the first half of the show, they explore Third's point of view and then in the second half of the series, and you get to explore Khai. Since this is the aspect of the show, you can tell when the story pace was suddenly quickened to move the plot. The character development was almost SO quick that it's sometimes questionable how fast the "tables have turned"; (which you would understand when watching the show). However, this series did an INCREDIBLE job exploring the side character's story. The side stories revolve around the leading friend group, contributing to the plot development. Many BLs make the side stories boring or irrelevant, but in this series, they explored the side stories almost at the same pace as the main characters. This series made me tear up so much as it is severely about a story of unrequited love. Third's acting touches the viewer's heart that you grow extremely frustrated with Khai (the exact execution expected). Overall, I recommend this drama if you are really into tropes that make you frustrated with characters and make you feel empathic towards a character that you almost cry. Unique story concept and a casual watch!
I watched Until We Meet Again (UWMA) last year, and I remember how emotionally invested I was in this show. It was sad, heartwarming, cute and funny. Compared to other BL's released during the same year as this series, this show was undoubtedly the best of the best BL series productions in decades. The character development and the story development are slow-paced yet very intriguing! Some people might hate this aspect, but others might enjoy the thrill of it! I loved how the story unwrapped itself perfectly by the end. The casting selection, chemistry and acting were excellent. Must watch and give it a try! If you don't like the fantasy, soulmate and destiny genres, maybe this show is not for you! But for those who do, watch it! Highly recommend. Incredible mash of thriller and bl!!
Honestly, I have no idea where to start with this show. The entire series is wrapped around ONE murder case and the events that follow around the main character. If you love watching thrillers, murder solving, and adventure, this bl will 100% be your favourite. I enjoyed watching this show and had a good time. I would recommend this show to anyone that likes this genre. There is a lack of dark-themed Thai bl, and this story was incredible. Everything in this show followed a perfect order, and everything made sense. Nothing was out of place. This show is so underrated. The relationship between the characters was SO maturely developed that it was shocking to watch. I did end up watching this show after "Not me" because I thought it was something similar of that sort. No, this was very different. Overall, the show had a few flaws here and there, but I was not expecting such a bl to be produced. The concept of this entire show is just incredible and kept me wanting more at a few episodes. Notice how I said "few"? That is because sometimes, they spent too much time trying to justify the gang's ideology that I felt like it was such a drag. This aspect did make me skip a few parts throughout the show as I was simply uninterested. However, the scenes that deprived the story of the element of the gang did move the plot, but I don't think it made much of a difference. After it ended, I went, "now what?" because it was just incredible. 100% WATCH IT! It's worth it! Trust me. Other than this criticism, this show is just MWAH. The central character development is so visually understandable, and you can see the shift in the change of personality of the main character. Overall a good one time watch!
Many people might enjoy the aspect of this couple, but I did end up skipping many parts throughout the show. I thought it was pretty repetitive, not because the story was slow but because sometimes the scenes were too dull and added no aspect to the show itself. Though the story was an exciting concept, the emotional development between the characters was rushed. Overall, you can defiantly watch it once! Considering that this bl came out in 2016, I can see why this is generally popular. However, 20 episodes for the whole series is way too much to convey the story's plot. Therefore if this show were ten or so episodes long, it would've been an amazing bl all above. But most importantly, the actual love relationship between the two main casts was highly underdeveloped, and the couple shared no intimate scene to convey the love.Was this review helpful to you?
