really frustrated with the scriptwriting and characters. gil chae was shameless enough to chase after yeonjun even as he's marrying her best friend, but now she's engaged and saying it's bad of lee janghyun to disregard all that and go after her. the hypocrisy,,, also just break off engagement and stay in the town, why are you running away??? yes people will talk, but you both are strong brazen characters (which i liked) as long as you're happy and have each other, nothing else should matter. she never cared about saving face before - dirtied her hands, fought barbarians, lowered her head for the business to survive and feed her family, but this is where you draw the line? janghyun shouldn't ask her to leave when she has her whole family, friends and life there. and even if that chest is delivered, you're still not married yet.

i appreciate the intention of the show but the execution was...imperfect. so many actions made me angry like making the victim face her rapist the DAY after her rape??? actually insane. some people take years to realize what happened to them and you want this young girl to admit it that very day before she can even process in a patriarchial society that demonizes women and SA victims? the trauma she faces for 3 months of SA and the literal rape, the constant retraumatization of seeing her abuser, being questioned and harassed by him, his followers, the police and public. ALSO she literally refused to enter his room while grabbing the wall and wanted to go home, i have no idea why they didn't try to find proof for that because that was a clear sign of not consenting. am i crazy but she was and looked so drunk entering his penthouse? on the drive there she was literally sleeping and barely conscious and the driver could've testified that. she couldn't even walk properly and was being supported and carried by the rapist. just because she became more sober doesn't mean she can clearly consent. don't get me started on giving the rapist his comedy relief and whimsical bgm and getting off scot-free criminally he needs to be in jail with his mistress. so much empathy shown to an abuser i could puke. i don't get why everyone's like oh why didn't you quit or say no - he's fking double her age, literally her boss and she needs that job to support herself and her parents financially. regular people can't afford to lose their jobs, why should she lose her job when she's the victim???
