On The Queen Who Crowns Jan 7, 2025
Based on ep 1, this one is a fast-paced quality historical drama. I was instantly immersed. What makes it extra interesting is that it's based on real historical characters. It feels like a sequel to Six Flying Dragons although it isn't. SFD ended when Lee Bang Won became the king. In SFD the relationship between Lee Bang Won and the queen was relatively non-romantic and distant, based on mutual interest to take the throne. Lee Bang Won was in love with Boon Yi. I haven't watched Lee Bang Won the King of Tears yet, but it's fascinating to see these different versions of history.

What happened to Syria breaks my heart. But it is the same not different perpetrators that stole the country. Same conflict.

I didn't expect the weird humour. The tone is somehow off. Let's hope it gets better in ep 2.
I actually thought this would be a space drama. Suspense, teamwork, problem-solving, slow burn romance. But this is an awkward genremix.

Sad to say, 22 minutes into the first ep I got bored out of my mind and decided to just browse some news sites…

Dont know about chesting. He never said he loves her and always just say robotic things. 2nd never looks happy…
seriously, what was that robotic stuff. This seems to lack depth, the overall impression from ep 1. Sad bc the high budget.

On Under the Skin Season 2 Jan 2, 2025
Title Under the Skin Season 2 Spoiler
I enjoyed S2 even more than S1, bc they really went head on to unchartered waters. Unlike any other crime drama, which makes me rate 9/10. The heavy focus on aesthetics and cinematography was exactly to my taste. The last case about gene editing was again very realistic, as was the AI case. The means for tampering genes with the CRISPR scissors already exist and gene therapies are introduced without much or any long-term testing. I absolutely hated it when Shen Yi didn't dispute the Mad Scientist's claim that all humans are by nature evil. But it turned out that he was just listening and making his own observations and conclusions, as always. I also loved that Du Cheng finally had the opportunity to shine in the last episodes as the strong pillar that he was in S1. The moment when he took SY off the case was very satisfactory. The friendship between the Mad Scientist and SY on the other hand was difficult to swallow, as it made SY look weaker. As if he had actually been choosing and believing in that freak. I wanted to yell "go back to your teammates" at the screen. But it all ended beautifully with SY and DC honestly talking things out and summing up how they complement each other. I'm ready for S3 and even more experimentation from the writer and producers. The team made a fantastic drama. As for the the last scene, I think the meaning was again to say that within every human being is both good and evil and that they'll explore this further in S3.

Maybe the girl isn’t pregnant, or Siwan's character is going to sacrifice himself for her
She will give birth in the last episode

A well written detective drama. Gets more and more intense as it proceeds. We think we can guess who the murderer is, but actually can't. Yet it is all very logical. I was invested through the entire drama. The two detectives' family life is well knit together with the serials murders plot. The police team is another family in itself. The two timelines (1997, 2010) show not just change in characters, but the whole city and its skyline. Cinematography is great. Highly recommended 8/10.

That's a real user who has been here for a long time. It's just ugly to flame up these disputes.
