Title Homesick
A grim, suspense filled c-noir crime drama. Maybe it's underrated because there's no flashiness; no rich people problems, no idol actors. The whole thing relies on the story and characters. The location is a middle size factory town, where the people are struggling and it rains most of the time. The main character is a young (17 years old) girl who is dead set on finding out what happened to her friend. Nothing stereotypical about the main characters. The twists and turns of the plot are completely unpredictable. You can't foreshadow anything really. I wasn't bored for a minute, I was pulled in from the start and invested in the story. 8/10.

On Under the Skin Season 2 Dec 15, 2024
The discussion between the police chief and Shen Yi was the key to this season. She was hoping that Shen Yi's insights into the human psyche and way of interpreting traces could be turned into a manual that helps also other police in psychological profiling.

Silly and boring, dropped at the beginning of ep 2. Adult woman getting a hysterical fit about not being married or having a bf, is not 2024. The kindergarten moms seem stereotypical.

Compared to other c-noir dramas I've been watching lately, this one is pretty lame and mediocre (7/10). People have been pointing out that there wasn't much chemistry between the leads, and that's true. This needed something that would have made it more spicey. Also they could have used much more humour. The plot twists aren't very surprising. I was most irritated about the last 2 episodes, since some key characters are brought in that didn't have any role in the first part of the drama.

The first 4 episodes are introductory. If like me you don't understand what's going on in those episodes: it gets cleared in ep 5. I enjoy the finely honed cinematography and atmosphere. Award-worthy drama for sure.

You can ask Netflix to purchase this by going to the Help section and "request a show". Let's hope for the best.

Damn this is so bad. I'm in the middle of ep 11 and don't know how I'll manage to finish. I started watching whilst airing, and this wasn't so bad in the beginning. I wouldn't recommend anyone to start watching. Personally I'm watching a lot of c-noir dramas and they're all eons better than this garbage. Han Ji Hyun was particularly irritating as the cop, too much of a little girl to pull that role credibly. Lee Min Ki was just doing what he always does (except he was good in My Liberation Notes.) Never ever has there been a less credible motive for killing. For a k-drama that is poignant and everything that a thriller should be, pls watch Children of Nobody.

maybe the weakest most boring drama special I've seen. And I've seen a lot.
It makes zero sense to me for a father to just vanish from his daughter's life

On the third case, If the sightseeing view is so spectacular and such a popular tourist spot, wouldn’t there…
didn't they say something about it being unregulated aka not taken care / no upkeep by the government

I'm loving this so far. Maybe even more than S1 bc Captain Du is more relaxed (I hope he'll go on a date also in this season LOL he was so funny). Fascinating to the max.

There is no way that girl fit inside that Giraffe, the first one was much smaller in size than the second one…
this is not a drama where realism reigns. Entirely different charms.

On Interlaced Scenes Dec 8, 2024
A highly sophisticated crime and detective drama. The plot is fairly predictable, but there's a lot to recommend it. Cinematography, music, acting, dialogues, all of this has a pull-in power that's hard to resist. There's virtually no action, it's all about psychology. There were some Hitchcockian undertones to enjoy. I found the middle part jarring, and this would have been better if it had been 10-12 episodes. The female detective's home troubles didn't get a credible a treatment, and seemed superficial additions. 8.5./10.

Was the first series as silly as this one? I'm finding the comedy a bit heavy-handed except for Lee Ha Nee who…
No, the first season didn't have this much over the top comedy. It was more emotional and serious.

Nah. There's Escape From the Trilateral Slopes which is magnificent. The First Shot. Lost in the Shadows. Interlaced Scenes. Even if I'm the one of who watched, these are all pure gems.
