This drama is premium binge watch material. Love all the main characters so freaking much. The story couldn't be more gripping and meaningful. It has such a hold on me, Gah, can't remember the last time a drama did such a number on my brain (in a good way). The soundtracks is perfect for the drama, it seals the deal. What an underrated gem, deserves so much praise.
IKR, lady just won't give it a rest. How can she see her family suffer so much and be so insane and what does…
I'm waiting for that episode too. It is a rule of television dramas that every secret must come out at some point. I'm counting on it. P.S. Glad to see that there is some interest in this underrated family drama that I quietly look forward to :)
At the halfway point and I swear that Jin Yoo’s mother is worse than the white truck of death the way she keeps…

This is going nice so far despite minor flaws in terms of verisimilitude. Soohyun is my favorite character, no…
Agreed. Love Soo Hyun (SHK is flawless) and her ex-husband is one of the most interesting characters. Jin Hyuk slightly comes off as a manic pixie dream boy, hopefully his character will be given more depth in coming episodes.
Absolutely adore this drama so far. A slow burn romance with a lot of complications, angst and tough hurdles. Too many times in K-drama, the obstacles are not real enough, they're just sorry excuses for a story. The struggle feels too real in this drama, so no wonder it is evoking just way too many feels. I've read a lot of people complaining about the moms being completely dingbat, which they undeniably are. But I don't see this as an unrealistic situation. Asian parents really can be this nagging and over-involved in their grownup children's lives. And these are no ordinary parents either, a crazy rich asian chaebol family and presidential aspirants, what can't we expect from this mix. The acting, cinematography, dialogues, OST, everything is top-notch. The side characters are interesting too. Keep it up Encounter, fighting!
I've half lost my mind searching for the "take me on down a river" song. Shazam won't identify it, there's only 1 OST for Encounter released yet (The Day We Met), and searching by song lyrics didn't help either. I need this song. Right. Now.
I'm not sure my heart is going to survive PBG smile for 16 episodes
Same. I hadn't watched PBG in anything before and I was always obliviously like: what's the big deal about this person. Then I saw that blinding 100 watt smile and gah, I was done for, it slayed me. I wasn't prepared for this.
I can't take it, 30 mins in and I was already bored, there's nothing that garbs my attention or makes me anticipate...…
I hear you. The first two episodes were meh, so I didn't think it could get any worse. Boy was I wrong. That pulling scene really was the last straw. I can't even x_x
I'll be honest y'all. I wasn't too impressed by the first episode, though the setting and cinematography is top notch. I was a tad bit bored, as there wasn't enough exposition about the characters and the AR game went on for too long. I kept thinking: this is what watching Fortnite on Twitch stream or Youtube must be like. It would be super cool for the game players, but watching someone play a video game can get dull real fast. But the 2nd episode totally upped the ante, as those missing character background stories fit into the narrative. The drama is evoking some major W feels, so I was a bit concerned if it'd be repetitive and derivative. I need not have worried. It is plenty original and far less ridiculous than W as far as plots go, though I might be speaking too soon on that. TLDR; If you're not feeling the first episode, definitely give the second episode a chance, and then decide.
I'm legit hoping that is how it would turn out to be. He isn't officially the 2nd lead. He has main lead role…
Whoa, I haven't read the source material, so I was only hoping she'd end up with Kang Jun Ho, didn't know how the webtoon ended. It'd be so refreshing to have the second lead-ish character be the one who gets the girl, for a change. I don't see any spark or chemistry between Baek Jin Sang and Lee Roo Da. They do make a good platonic team. But then again, drama adaptations sometimes veer from the webtoon, right? So your never know. But at any rate, Baek Jin Sang should be counted as the main character whether he ends up with the female lead or not, as the story is focused on his character's development journey, and romance is an after thought in the story anyways.
there are times I wish the 2 main leads are just 2 main leads to a story and that the "2nd" guy is the main love…
I'm legit hoping that is how it would turn out to be. He isn't officially the 2nd lead. He has main lead role as well in the cast list. It's a weak hope, but I'll hang on to it anyways.
P.S. Glad to see that there is some interest in this underrated family drama that I quietly look forward to :)
