Welcome to the new member on MDL! πππ I agree completely with your review, except with the final paragraph!π€£π€£ I hated this so much that I could never watch anything else with these two in it ....
What a huge list! How much time did you spend on this and why? π π Sorry for asking this, but wouldn't we get the same just by using the MDL search engine and the site's tags for the search? At least that search comes with a partial synopsis! This list showed up on the site of a thai BL and I just wanted to see what a list with almost 1900 entries looks like.... I barely went through the first 100 and was overwhelmed!π π π It would be more interesting to see this list split by countries, years and with a personal touch! Anyway to each his own! Good luck with your endeavour!ππ₯°
I didn't !!! Well, now I am not surprise of why I saw similarities !!!It just shows that Tu Punnasak Sukee has…
They are not typical bls: that's all! The ratings are the proof! Both these dramas would have been just as good if the leads were straight: the characters' sexuality is never the issue, what is important is the story (the break up, the family secrets etc.), the character's introspection. The fact that they are gay does not add or take away anything from the core story of people coming to terms with their own interior demons! I consider BLs as light, fluffy romances. There is nothing light or fluffy in either of these dramas! Another drama like these two, less theatrical and more of a lakorn with a dash of fantasy but still only BL around the edges is The Miracle of Teddy Bear. Have you seen it?
Well said! I guess you probably did not notice that these two series (180Β° & 7 days) were written and directed by the same person who is originally a theatre director. This explains the long dialogues and the theatrical feel of the sets! Both series are mainly slow burn dramas where main characters happen to be gay: they are not BLs which resulted in low ratings since people did not get what they expected! Their loss! This drama is simply amazing!
Of course! But the episodes are full of unnecessary and annoyingly long and repetitive flashbacks. Though I only reamized it afterwards!ππ€£π€£π€£
For a lot of people, it was the first k drama ever, watched during COVID lockdowns. Mine too! I found it so different from western shows that I fell into the drama rabbit hole I do not want to leave!. I never rewatched it, though I tried once and could not finish the first episode! But it still has a special place in my heart for being the first. I probably would rate it much lower if I watched it now: I still remember things that I did not like about it but chose to overlook: it was too long, the second couple was odd, the actors had good chemistry but they are too old for the roles! Nevertheless, it is responsible for my addiction! My taste evolved since! LOL
Is the book author a big fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation? The character of Kyu is surely modeled on Q from Star Trek! Cryptic and mysterious, putting Sunshine on trial....
MDL has no problems with movies including mass murdering, but if there are boobies, its the end of the world and…
Not only MDL! Everywhere is the same: killing, guns and blood is ok but God forbid a piece of skin is showing: the prude patrol goes on rampage. π€£π€£π€£ I could never understand how seeing people in love/naked is more morally harmful than gun violence!π€
"A βFlower boyβ can be described as a man having a soft appearance, smooth skin, decent manners and wearing fashionable makeup and clothes." Aren't the majority of characters in BLs (ukes), flower boys? Uea, a character from Bed Friend, thai bl for example?
