Thank you so much. I really did not like this. It had taken me over two months to finish it, having repeatedly dropped it, because I wanted to find out why this is considered one of the best bls ever. You pointed out everything I noticed and hated so... I am relieved!
I was wandering whether to watch this or not (apparently the chemistry is great) but upon reading some recent comments, it seems that this drama hasn't aged well (rampant homophobia?) How the world has changed in only 5 years!!! The #metoo movement and the pandemic have for sure changed the way we all percieve the world!
Great article, well done! I may not be as fan of these dramas as you seem to be but your writing is really a good read! The only drama I liked is 365, and I dropped Vincenzo 40min into the first episode! And i am currently struggling to finish My Roommate Is A Gumiho(it is too hot to care!!!)To each its own, I guess! Anyway, looking forward to more well written articles from you!
Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice: THE original template enemies to lovers done right! Everything since has been variations of the theme! Thank you for the interesting article!
Thank you for this article: detailed and clear in explaining a major mystery of C drama production. Well done! Keep up the good work! I'd love to read more from you! There is another question about c dramas ant tv in general: why are they all subbed in chinese? Same reason as the dubbing? The subs are very fast: can you actually read them?!? Makes me wonder!
Here's the thing tho, my ratings are more of "how much I enjoyed watching" and not "hot good the show is". That's…
I am very reluctant to watch a show that is unanimously raved about(because I am always disappointed eventually: high expectations and all that!) so before watching I scroll through the reviews and read the worst rated article which usually gives me the real idea about the quality of it. Your review of Why R U had me in stitches: I read it before watching because of the way you started your article and though the series was sooo bad, you made it watchable! After watching it i though to myself: the second degree! That must be it! So if you look at it as a story within a story(sister writing! a bit like Be Melodramatic) it is quite fun!
I'm watching Like In The Movies now and I saw your review of it with which I agree 1000%. So i saw someone in the comments not agreeing with your review of ITSAY and Bilikin's acting so it piqued my curiosity since I had the same feelings about BK: the guy can't act to save his life!!! I am surprised though by your very generous note of this series! Apart from being pretty sometimes, PP's good acting skills and... I can't think of nothing else! Ah yes, a couple of earwormy songs! I was just as frustrated and annoyed like you while watching it and i kept telling myself that they are just teens discovering new feelings and sensations but that amount of stupidity is not allowed! And what's with all the crying and smelling each other?!?!? Anyway thank you for all your great reviews especially since I agree with almost all of them! ;-)
Interesting, quirky characters and an original story but the camera angles(fish eye, cctv...) the director used…
I am dropping this after 5 episodes. It is actually a really good story and the main characters are very likable and have great chemistry but the cinematography is just terrible. It is giving me a huge headache. I have the impression of watching a footage someone took while hiding so people would non notice they were being filmed. It could be ok to film like that if it were a movie but 16h of this is unbearable!!!!
Interesting, quirky characters and an original story but the camera angles(fish eye, cctv...) the director used to fim are making this drama very uncomfortable to watch.
The best part of this drama are the opening titles: the music and the cinematography are really top notch. They must have used the most of their budget to fim that sequence because the rest feels really cheap, aesthetically speaking! The story is rather original with leads hiding their relationship because worried of the society's reaction. Usually in these dramas it is universal acceptance, pretty birds and flowers... Wish it were true!
Continuity error, if I am not mistaken: in Kiss Me Again wasn't it Kao who was the experienced photographer taking photos of Sun's coffees with Sun having a crush on him and Pete glaring angrily at them while drinking coffee? Here it is Pete whose hobby is photography and Kao doesn't know how to use a camera?
If you only want to watch PeteKao there is a better cut by Lazy Subber on dailymotion/facebook. The gmmtv's version is cut too much so the story is incomprehensible.

Sizzling hot chemistry! Off the charts! Chemistry level to infinity and beyond!
