No definitely not a filler. There were several thing that showed it was specifically written this way 1. Sol and SJ treasuring each day because their time together is limited. SJ asked several tyms when she would hav to leave. 2. Sol saying she does not wan to regret not telling him her feelings before she leaves 3. SJ realising how much Sol wants to protect him. From the first time she traveled to him in 2008 and now, she wants to shoulder it on her own. But he too will continue to make the choice to save and protect her 4. SJ and IH having their heart to heart talk. 5. TH telling Sol he truly liked her and never used her.
Each time, it was showing their actions to not leave regret. So if we minus the comedic scenes, there was still alot to take away from ep12.

She love him as an idol at first. Then she starts liking him as a guy. To the point she risked losing her legs just to run out to find him in the rain. At evy chance, she puts him before herself to prevent the tragedy from happening again. 2nd timeslip her desperation to save him is proportional to how much she cares and loves him. When she returned to the present, she was relieved to see him alive even at the expense of not being in his life although she misses him very much. Jus because she didnt confess first nor as vehement as Sunjae in his confession, it does not mean she love him less.

The fantasy genre in this drama doesnt just applies to the time wrap. I feel Sunjae is the "fantasy guy/bf". He made his sole purpose in love to love and protect Sol.
The climax is coming. With that I feel a lil melancholy watching today's episode. Maybe cause the stakes are high, they are so in love but the shadow of the killer is looming.
