1. How many 2023-release dramas did you watch? - 112
2. What country did you watch the most in 2023? - China
3. What genre(s) do you usually watch? - Historical, Romance, Fantasy, Drama
4. What is your top drama listed in this article? - One Piece (JP) - The Starry Love (CH) - Alchemy of Souls 2 (SK) All 3 I enjoyed and highly rated. OP is the best netflix live action. TSL's twin flowers have my heart, sibling bond is my weakness and they both warmed and broke my heart. AOS2 dragged the amnesia thing but the cp's chemistry hard carried, something I didn't get from AOS.
5. What is your top drama NOT listed in this article? - Brush Up Life Relatable, nostalgic, healing and heartwarming, my lifetime drama. I gave this my very first 10/10 in mdl.
6. How was your drama journey in 2023? - Many of my anticipated dramas didn't meet my expectations, esp those from the actors that I liked. - I got into dating shows. lol
7. What is your wish or plan in dramaland in 2024? - C-ent to loosen up on double male lead dramas. I don't wanna wait 800 years for Eternal Faith. - Try to watch lakorns/thai dramas again since I had less last year than the previous years.
Just a little note about PH dramas, standard teleseryes are usually long because they air everyday. Short prod like that 10 ep included in the list is mostly from one station only. That station lost their main broadcasting license (tax and labor stuff) so they resort to short/online projects for their unknown newbies (they have so many). The popular and veterans with good acting are in the regular long dramas. The one on the list with high rating is also rated by only 7(?) people.
The visuals and action scenes were good. But it was so rushed there was no time for anything else other than the fight scenes. No character build up and development. It felt straight to destination, no journey.
Overall, as a standalone its not bad, but as LA of my fave anime, it could've been a lot better.
(Kurama and Karasu though.. the tension was tensioning)
So its really airing soon ah but the holidays is so busy. After MITD ends this will be my main, the rest of my cw dramas will be on hold, lol priorities.
I'm hoping they will progress how the anime did. I mean dont get me wrong, I absolutely loved the dark tournament…
To me Jun's wig looks like those butterfly hairstyle that girls have. They could've done it like Kiyoka in MHMLA, Ren looked pretty while still very manly. The fringe and long hair moved nicely and wasn't a hindrance during fight scenes.

The dark tournament happened to be my fave part but I also enjoyed the other arcs, it won't be my fave anime if I didn't like it overall. The reason I thought it will be covered is because its short compared to other animes.
Adapting something from one medium to another won't be exactly the same, but if they made changes I hope it'll work well just like OPLA.
There are many small arcs before dark tournament as much as I remember. They will probably end the season at cliffhanger…
I know about those arcs but iirc cmiiw Toguro bros didn't show up until the dark tournament, but here they're already shown fighting all 4 not in an arena setting. So I assumed they changed and scrapped the dark tournament part.
And I still can't get used to Kurama's hair. There's so many wigs that worked in LAs and made their actors long haired bishounens. But I will still check this out, its my fave anime afterall.
The rating is so low for a big budget drama with well known casts. Even Strong Girl Namsoon is triple Arthdal…
Although S1 didn't reach double digits, it never went as low as 2%, its lowest rating 4.5% is around S2's highest.
The ratings disagree, Koreans love their saeguk and My Dearest is doing really well. The heavy part could apply to makjang and crime ones that were a lot in the last few years, its probably why light/fluff are preferred lately.
True, but c-ent also produce hundreds of same plot, badly written, low quality and liuliang dramas. So maybe thats why those well written ones are valued.
Its not like k-ent completely don't give importance to good scripts, and they also cast veteran actors as leads, not just popular idols. Maybe its many factors combined into one why Arthdal 2 did so poorly, or it could just be the timing.
They filmed this for 9 months?I wonder why the drama is not popular. It is written by 2 of Korea's best writers.…

It could be the lead change or competition of weekend dramas. Because I don't think its the genre or the plot since Alchemy 2 reached double digits ratings.
Sounds like KSY and KJH's love story in Mother of Mine. They were the only one that I enjoyed among the 3 cps in that drama. So I might check this out when it airs.
My longest wait is still, Eternal Faith.

It'll end next week just as TLI starts.
And yes to finally having pretty posters~
That was a better production than this so its better overall. But the cp's dynamics here is just 🔥. Fl's on top! lol

So since its netflix I guess I should hope it'll be a success for a renewal.
Hopefully I'm wrong, its just a trailer afterall.
