slow, meh dialogue, logic/continuity mistakes

While I am very excited for another Omegaverse story this first episode was lackluster. — The characters and world were weirdly introduced. How can Phatsa not know about the Omegaverse? Why doesn‘t everyone know about it? Why are his friends (& Sangnuea) kinda hush-hush about it as if it’s some kind of secret mafia organisation - no one can choose whether they want to be a part of it - and then tell him anyways as if it‘s common sense? Why was the explanation of the Omegaverse split into two conversations on two separate days? (I have an inkling why**) — Generally the dialogues were not flowing at all and quite repetitive (disregarding the not good translation we have atm) it was kinda painful to witness. — What is Phatsa‘s life like? Fighting with bad people on the street and hanging around the café of his buddy? That‘s all we learn about him in this Ep. And that he graduated with honours. But what he studied? 🤷‍♀️ Since his life‘s purpose now is being bonded to a stranger his personal life probably won‘t be that important anymore. So, why establish it? — My perception is that Nakhun entered the café after the heat incident happened… So, how in the world did Phatsa’s heat pheromones not hit Nakhun with a force as hard as our dearest truck-kun? But the cup he touched for a few seconds carried his scent for days…? sure. — I really missed the scene with them crossing each other on the street which causes an uncontrolled rut. That still could‘ve happened when he entered the café and smells the heat pheromones, so he frantically runs through the streets leading him to Phatsa who‘s fighting off those guys… speaking of that fighting scene: I thought they would reshoot it. While it was fine in the pilot it makes almost no sense to me that Nakhun would stop to stop a fight in the middle of the night (he has 4 bodyguards, why do it himself? ye, they‘re not with him in that scene but when you‘re so used that… and ye he‘s an alpha but still). I doubt he smelled Phatsa from far away & in a moving car… as it is established in this ep. atm he only smells him when he‘s in close proximity. — There were so many scenes that were just silent and/or long but didn‘t add anything to the character or world establishing. Phatsa’s heat was a quite long scene where I thought he would loudly ask some more questions to the universe: „Why do I feel hot? What is happening to me? What’s wrong with me? Where is this suddenly coming from? Could this be because I am an Alpha? I need to go to a doctor.“ but no, we (pretty much) silently struggle in the café so our friends who are very familiar with the omegaverse notice nothing, then we just go home and endure it. — The scene at the bar… „here your welcome drink“ *sits down as if to have a conversation* „anyways I have to go somewhere else, enjoy“. There definitely was a scene cut out. All those (silent) scenes made the episode rather slow while I expected it to be a little quicker. — **I can already feel that they might stuggle with all the characters they‘re trying to handle here (to further „introduce“ Sangnuea they probably split the explanation into two convos). We get an extra brother that was nowhere in the pilot and we haven‘t even met the women of the story. (According to the trailer) we already know all the brothers will get their lovestory. Will the women end up with each other, too? Now That would be interesting especially if they‘re ABO as well. — Production value, the fight scenes and videography were good. Also the visual effects of the pheromones look very good. So there‘s still hope and I believe that it can get better. Fingers crossed 🤞

You‘re on thin ice Nakhun.

And the award for the worst parent of recent BL history goes to Phatsa‘s father. — unbelievably irresponsible and neglectful parent, no wonder Phatsa was so hyper independent at the beginning. — aside from this horrible truth we learn about this was the best dialogue with the most information we‘ve got so far. Which pisses me off. Also that Phatsa still seems to have a good connection to his father despite him being gone a lot… he must want that little love he gave. Which, to me, explains why Phatsa is so okay with Nakhun being at work all the time. — Why did Phatsa seemingly never ask about his mother? Even if he did ask the father must‘ve told him something different or deflected until Phatsa gave up asking. It also struck me as odd that the father had zero reluctance to tell Phatsa everything now. At least some hesitance at the beginning of the conversation or a little more struggle when he talks about the mother. Idk. — I wished we would‘ve gotten a little snippet about the father in Episode 1, something like: Ongsa: „Is your father back from his job?“ - Phatsa: „Not yet, it still takes a month or two until they‘re done“ - O: „That long? Don‘t you feel lonely by now?“- P: „Why? I have you and (the other café guy whose name idk)“ etc. — What I‘ve read from other Episode Reactions here is that people start to get annoyed with Nakhun. He‘s definitely not acting like a bonded soulmate. Phatsa quote: „You haven‘t forced me. You just want me to stay here“ <- this feels like a good summary. Because yes, Nakhun just wants Phatsa to stay at home like a pet. And now that Phatsa voices his feelings Nakhun doesn‘t really acknowledge them, just „don‘t overthink it“ or he has to put in effort into this relationship. All this points towards „not soulmates“. Phatsa has a better relationship with N’s mother. — I‘ve watched this episode twice now and the first time I definitely was just as excited about a possible pregnancy as the bodyguards, but now? I hope he‘s not. They are still strangers to e/o, strangers that had sex. That‘s the only part where the bond/soulmate part works. And that‘s just not it. Not for an ABO relationship nor in reallife, you can tell yourself 1000x that you‘re soulmates it still won‘t come true. — the bodyguard telling about the partners health condition is fine but directly concluding that he might be preggers is wrong. — Watching it the second time it feels disgusting. Never before has Nakhun shown such interest and glee towards Phatsa as he is now that he shows pregnancy symptoms. Phatsa himself is super confused about the sudden happiness of Nakhun. PLUS he acts like he knows something about Phatsa that Phatsa doesn‘t. The staff too. Uuuh if someone would do that to me I would get so mad. Plus Nakhun knows about Phatsa‘s lack of ABO knowledge. Thin ice, Nakhun, thin ice. Your nest can‘t cool me down, the ice keeps melting. — Still have the same opinion: the „father looking for a pure omega“-plotline should‘ve started in ep. 2. Now it‘s boring. — *sigh* Ongsa and Nakhin. My problem children. That first scene with the bad cooking. I would‘ve scrapped the whole scene — Their date was cute and Nakhin showing him the closest smell to his pheromones is very considerate but yeah the dialogue ruins it. It might be better and more nuanced in Thai but the english translation is very repetitive. It feels like they have restarted the scene several times with different dialogue options and then just cut it together. — OxN have slightly more chemistry in bed than outside. — . — (boah, that was a lot of thoughts. Downhill again…

The dialogue and acting of Nakhin and Ongsa are the worst. I want to be excited about this AlphaxBeta but they make it extra hard. — Naphit is kinda submissive towards Phatsa now. Interesting. Should be super suspicious to everyone who witnessed it but nah, not important now, we‘ll activate it once it has to be important. — Nakhun keeps being insensitive with what he says and doesn’t seem to notice. But hello?? Phatsa, you can open your mouth and say something, too?! — The whole thing with the father searching for a pure Omega should’ve started in episode 2. Now it’s so boring. We know it’s Phatsa. (That Nakhun never asked about his test also surprises me) The father respects NxP‘s bond and moves on to Nakhin. The only thing that could happen now is how the father will react once he learns about Ongsa. Will he be mean, cold or aggressive? Will he move on to Naphit? Or will Ongsa break up with Nakhin? Or will he learn about Phatsa before and be extra satisfied because that‘s been his plan all along? We already know that in the end everything will turn out in his favour. 🙄 — Amintra and Nakhin’s conversation was interesting. But up until now I could’ve never guessed they are childhood besties. — Sangnuea and Naphit meet. Was Sangnuea in heat here? He’s not wearing his „protective“ scarf anymore (as if that would help). Curious to learn what happened between the two. — What do you mean Ongsa‘s mother knows NNN‘s mother? In my head that should change a lot. Is that the reason Ongsa and Nakhin have known e/o before? Or will this (or the banana cake) be the protection/bonus once the father learns about him? — That we only now get to see how Nakhun follows Phatsa‘s scent, in a snail‘s pace, is annoying me. (You can‘t make me believe he found Phatsa by scent in Ep. 1.) And how the scent was shown is giving cartoon. — We are not moving forward at all with the MCs. Phatsa has become this sulky bebi and Nakhun keeps being an insensitive wall but with a conversation about the same topic as last ep. and some sex all‘s good again. And with the SCs we‘re moving in huge steps where you feel like you‘ve missed half the story.

In this episode Nakhun learns that good communication is important. Or does he?

We got confessions of feelings. Nakhun is very blunt with how he tells his truths. (I guess he got that from his father) Which leads to jealousy and sulking on Phatsa‘s part. — Phatsa & Nakhun seem to have couple necklaces. When did that happen? — The conversation between Nakhin and Ongsa was a struggle to get through. I could feel the punctuation. (mainly too long pauses between questions and answers. No flow. It felt unnatural.) Not helpful for their chemistry or the weight of their words. Also all the angles that they used in this scene. Really disliked all of it. — What‘s Japan‘s purpose in this series? I haven‘t found it yet. Generally all the children that have appeared so far. — Cool to see the shared pain again & confirming it goes both ways. And them figuring that out together. It still feels inbalanced. Being shot seems to be less/equally as painful as a finger cut. — The thing with Phatsa vs Naphit... I assume it is to show the Omega trait of calming tension as well as the Pure Omega power Phatsa has. — It was interesting to see the pheromone „fight“ (most interesting scene of the whole episode). Naphit showed defeat. Will he be submissive towards Phatsa now?— Amintra is still a little mystery to me. What‘s her purpose? And her & her assistant‘s storyline is not adding much to the ‚plot‘ — Now that Phatsa and Nakhun have confessed their feelings to one another it is very inconsiderate and insensitive of Nakhun to have less than minimal communication with his bonded soulmate. That seems so counterintuitive especially for soulmates.

some good, some bad

The translation has been fixed/done by a human, yay — That Phatsa asked to work, gets to read financial reports to then not go to work and beg, not even to work, but to do something *anything* outside of the house once again…… *just smile and wave boys* — Amintra. who is she, why is she, what is she. — Her being played by MFlowEntertainment’s CEO makes this feel very self insert-ish. And unless this character is well written it won‘t be more than that. *sigh* — loved to see yet another set of pheoromone/bond effects: soothing your partner & feeling the pain of your bonded soulmate (one sided so far) — also, some more of Phatsa’s Alpha-esque traits (being smart & instinctively good at shooting) — okay, Phatsa you‘ve been an Omega for what feels like a week and now you act like an ABO expert to that girl in the café? <— that makes me think: Phatsa‘s parents must be dead or gone in some other way, that would add to him not knowing about ABO. But then why was this not established in Episode 1? It made Phatsa appear very isolated and/or ignorant in an idiotic way. — love Sangnuea‘s flirtatiousness

It got better, but not much

The dialogue got a little better and flowier but is still not great. The translation doesn‘t help and I hope it can be fixed. At times it is very repetitive. Noticed that especially at the beginning when Nakhun repeatedly says „we’re bonded, a pair, a couple, we shouldn’t separate, AlphaxOmega bond, we‘re basically married“ Ugh. — Also some even longer scenes that just took up space plus lots of silence. Phatsa‘s heat in the shower for example. That was 5 minutes of run time. — When we‘re back with Nakhun… Idk who choreographed the „NC“ scenes… while I understand that they are pheromone driven and quite animalistic in their bed behaviour, as viewer it got exhausting to watch the longer it went on. And that scene went on for 7 minutes! SEVEN MINUTES. — Something I am missing is the intensity and tension of the alpha when calm. The father has it but I need to feel it from Nakhun. There‘s 10 Eps left and they just bonded, so 🤞 — I like that we get shown what other effects alpha pheromones can have (the protective shield move towards Nakhin, causing a headache in Beta Ongsa and making Phatsa cry) — I am generally very interested in Nakhun‘s family dynamic. I like that he cried in front of his mum and Nakhin. — We don‘t know much more about Naphit, he seems to take after his father. — Nakhin’s still a very nothing character to me, a shadow/right hand man to Nakhun. — Ongsa and Nakhin… hm. Despite knowing it would happen it still wasn‘t pleasant to watch. — Overall this series so far makes me want to be an editor (& translator) and re-edit the whole thing. Me, from the future (6 episodes in): no, even better: Rewrite and reshoot.

Weirdly edited (spoilerish review)

Okay, this was a little weird to watch. On one hand: It looked like they didn‘t have all the actors available anymore for this episode. Because that didn‘t look like that French man we got to know with Lady Pa. Doesn‘t have to be but would be a little odd. — The fathers are just gone… 🤷‍♀️ —Just saw in the cast list: Ram (Thee‘s father) married the love of his life Ruedi? When did that happen? Did I miss that part in this episode? Did they originally plan/have more episodes to tell the story? — And did Rati and Thee go to France now or not? Doesn‘t look like it. After that emotional goodbye I thought it‘d end with them traveling or working together or idk.— The portrayal of Mhek and Dech kinda rubbed me the wrong way, too. They felt a little off character in their behaviour. — Generally the editing was a little jumpy. Like: Mhek and Dech appear to say hello to Rati and then a scene later it looks like they haven‘t seen each other for a whole day. The thing with them saying goodbye and then we just have to imagine they went. The whole episode jumped back and forth and skipped idk how much time just to show us this and that. And then that post Director credit scene was odd. Wrongly placed. — It was an episode where we learned about the ending of the characters we care most about but how it was done kinda ruined the mood a little. I wasn‘t really back in the story (only in the beginning of the episode) like I was for the rest of the series. The editing made this a not so enjoyable ending. Unfortunately. Because I loved the series.

a dragging last episode

Sad to say I am not satisfied with this ending. There might‘ve been conclusions but also still waay too many loose strings. - Cool, we won the competition. yay. I do not really feel happy about that. It made the most sense but other than that. Eh. Since none of the contesants really get anything out of it just made this so… *sound of letting air out of a ballon*- We all (people in the series, definitely not me) have suddenly forgiven all the kings wrong doings? Sure, sure, sure.- In the fencing match I thought Ramil might purposely loose or forfeit to show he‘s no longer following his fathers orders. I would‘ve loved to see more about him and Paytai. Their conclusion was fine but left me with questions and wanting more.- Sad to see Ava just sitting there. She was my favourite to win the competition. - I totally forgot about Calvin and Jay. It felt really odd to have their conclusion in the midst of all the other things. At first I was like: ah yee, their story needs an ending…. but when it was happening I wished they didn‘t get one but instead a spinoff series. Because in this series they weren‘t relevant at all for the main plot. Their story would be worthy of its own series.- some scenes felt too long. The one where they leave the balcony felt weirdly long. And Khanin and Charans final kiss was definitely too long. Don‘t get me wrong I love a good kiss (& the kiss was good) but so long I wanted to tell them to get a room and walk away from the scene. I even watched on 1.25x speed and it was still too long.- Getting engaged? Really? That feels so soon. I have no idea how much time has passed. That engagement just felt like creating the grounds for a special episode in which they get married. Would love to see a royal emmalian wedding but grrrr I wished it would‘ve happened differently.
