An Eclipse I wish would happen everyday !!

this is hands down one of the best BL series I have seen and it's up there with the likes of BBS and ATOTS...the way they depicted d struggle with one's sexuality and the fear of accepting oneself was so well done...the pressure that people have to face just to be accepted in a society which is ready to shun you the moment you show your true self was so beautifully depicted...in a galore of BL shows that depict homophobia as something which just doesn't exist in the world I'm glad that a show had d guts to tackle the subject and do justice to it....last but not the least First and Khaotung have once again proved what brilliant actors they are and the range of emotions they can portray if given a proper script with an assured direction !!! overall mesmerizing, splendid and just wonderful....wish to see more shows like this

I have no words!! poignant and melancholic!!

I have no words for how amazing this show was...mind you this is not an easy watch as in it's your typical BL and people looking for fluff will be disappointed ..but if complex flawed characters and realistic relationship depiction between two people having distinct personalities is what you are looking for ..this is your show..if you want to see what happens when the honeymoon phase is over and insecurities and personal demons start taking over ..this is your show...I will be re-watching this coz its required to properly understand the characters and their motivations !! but anyone looking to watch something mature for a change please go ahead and watch it !!!

A beautiful nostalgic tale of unconditional love!!

This show is criminally underrated! I myself did not have any plans to watch it but decided to give it a try due to lack of options and boy was I glad!! It's a beautiful story of unconditional love which is told through means of memories and flashbacks!! Every single scene of the show is heart touching!! I was an emotional mess through most of the runtime of the series starting from episode 1. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying it's sad! But it has got that beautiful melancholic tone that just tugs at your heartstrings even in the simplest scenes and that feeling is very hard to describe in words. It will definitely make you nostalgic if not anything else!!
The early 2000s setting is spot on and I actually believed that I'm watching a story from that time. The writing is pretty good. I won't say its something original but not once did it feel that I have watched it somewhere. The direction by Mean is pretty commendable and is able to express the desired intention most of the time !!
However, the real highlight of this series are its 2 leads. For being rookie actors, both of them have done a phenomenal job. Their chemistry is really good and makes their love all the more believable. Especially Title as Nut carries most of the heavy-load and is able to pull off even the most demanding scenes exceptionally well. I can see another Fluke in him.
The trope used by the director is also pretty unique. The second half has a lot of flashback scenes but the perspective is changed or extra things are added to make the viewers understand what actually happened in those scenes which make them even more heart wrenching.
Be warned though. if you are going in expecting a lovey-dovey typical BL with lots of fluffy moments between the leads, this is not your cup of tea. However, if you want to watch a moving love story which actually shows the strength of true love and how it perseveres and does not change with circumstances then dive right in but prepare a box of tissues!!! You will need it !!

Pure Innocent love at its best!!

what a heartwarming love story ...the pure innocent crush of a girl was so beautifully portrayed... I also loved d fact that in the beginning when she was still minor they refrained from showing any romantic feelings from the ML.....it was just pure adoration for someone he considered a sister like younger friend ...the progression in the love story was so organic you can literally see the ML starting to develop feelings and also the exact moment when it transitioned from brotherly adoration to something more for him...I love how the FL was cute and childlike (not childish..huge difference) when it came to her loved ones but also knew where to take a stand for herself ...the acting the ost everything was sooo good! Definetly one of my all time favorites and one which I will watch multiple times !!

A beautiful tale of self discovery and a sublime romance !!

I'm reviewing this after having re-watched it now for the 3rd time after a year of first time watching it !! Trying to fill the void left by the completion of Bad Buddy, I didn't know what to watch so decided to give my favourite BL another try and having done that I realized why this series was my favorite until Bad Buddy took the top spot recently ...Nevertheless this is still a very close 2nd and will always remain one of my favorite series ever...
The story itself is mesmerizing and a respite from the usual BL tropes that have become common to the point of being predictable and boring!! The writing is meticulous and every scene has a purpose and nothing feels like a filler. There are no loose ends and everything is tied up beautifully by the time the credits roll on the last episode.
The direction by P'Aof is assured as always and he brings out the best from all the cast and crew. Special mention must be given to the production design of the show which is immaculate. Every detail looks authentic and nothing looks like it's added for the sake of creating an atmosphere...I don't know whether it was an actual village they shot at or it was all sets but it actually feels like a genuine village...
The OST is beautiful and the title song is used at perfect occasions causing goosebumps and butterflies at the required moments between the couple!!
Lastly coming to the best part of the show...The acting and chemistry of its 2 main leads ...Earth and Mixx exude a rare level of comfort together which is visible in every scene of them ..there is no cringe, no awkwardness and most importantly they look like 2 people in love ..their chemistry at times sweet and at times fiery lifts the show to a whole new level...Earth has given a nuanced performance which just strikes the correct balance his character requires...But the real star of the series and the MVP is Mixx in his debut role, who brings a level of intensity in his performance that even seasoned actors fail to bring at times...not only is he extremely good looking, but his face radiates every expression that Tian is feeling effortlessly ...he gets most of the heavy and emotional parts of the show and not once he fails to deliver in any of those scenes !! Watching him perform is just so satisfying !!
Another aspect of the show which I really liked is that though predominantly it's a love story, the focus of the writing is not just on the couple but the characters as individuals. The leads have a personality of their own and face problems and issues that have nothing to do with the romance aspect. Apart from being a love story, ATOTS is also a story of self-discovery and forgiveness a story of community and found family..

The power of love!!

wanted to convey my thoughts...I went through a whole rollercoaster of emotions with this one..there were moments I was giggling away like a child, swooning at my screen then there were moments where I was bawling my eyes out..there were episodes where I was at the edge of my seat and characters whom I literally wanted to get into the screen and smack..but what made this show extra special for me was d FL..yes the ML is all hot and prideful and genius and everything but Zhu Yun stole the show for me...the determination she had for a girl who who looked timid and innocent and was not to forget privileged... the way she was ready to bear and sacrifice anything for the love she had for a man whom she mentally considered her King is the kind of unconditional love I wish to have for someone one day...Li Xun wouldn't have been himself or wouldn't have achieved what he deserved if it weren't for this woman standing by him ready to go through any lengths for him..in the process she nearly destroyed herself ( which I don't condone) but I tried understanding from her perspective and then I could see why she was ready to do anything for this man who basically changed her whole life and made her into a far more independent and capable person than she herself thought she was !!
Like others I don't hate Gao's character because he was not an evil person intrinsically but he had such an inferiority complex that he let everything good about him get ruined just to prove to this one man who had unintentionally made him feel inferior that he too could be as capable as him !!
A beautiful and epic love story with very rich and complex characters and a soul stirring OST!! 10/10

May d best man win !!!

Ok Just got done with the show ..have a lot to say ..will try to talk about each contestant starting from my favorite to least favorite ..I'm not marking this as a spoiler becuase my intention is no to talk about specific points but the statements below will contain SPOILERS so please read only if you are done with the show :
1. Yung Hee : My absolute favorite boy/man in the house. At 21 years he showed more maturity than a lot of other elder contestants. A very sorted person who had eyes just for one man right from the very beginning irrespective of whether that person returned his affection or not. And to another person that liked him he made it very clear as politely and genuinly as possible that even though he regards him highly he wil never have the same feelings for him. An outgoing and active man who knew how to drive well and also build up fire like a pro for barbeques..a true dream man in all aspects ..too bad a certain someone could not be swayed by his charms
2. Jun Soeng - An absolute delight to watch from start to end..perfect example of a Tsundere..like Yung Hee, his eyes were fixed on one man right from the first day and what I loved about him was that he made sure that the person he likes knows about his feelings ..he also helped them and was there for them even when that person showed interest in someone else..not once did this man pressure his crush to choose him instead ..he just showed his sincerity and determination till the end without forcing the other person and I think that's why his sincerity and care won his crush over and he came out victorious ...him and Sung Ho were the best part of the last few epiosdes..watching them being cute togehter was a delight .true testament of all good things come to those who wait ! Hope their relationship lasts long.
3. Seon Woo : The most popular man in the house who everyone felt attracted to from first looks. Though I sometimes disliked him for his people pleasing attitude but then I understood him a lot when he explained himself..I really felt bad for him towards the last few episodes..though I really wished he would give Yung Hee a chance I understand that feelings are not something you can control.
4. Sung Ho : Cutie Pie and though he wasn't the youngest in the group, behavior wise he was the most adorable and child like which is his charm...what I liked about him and and what differentiated him from Min Sung who was exactly in the same spot was that Min Sung was very vague till the very end about his feelings whereas for Sung Ho he liked one man at one point and though he had conflicting emotions because he liked someone else as well he never dragged it to the point where it would become awkward for everyone ..his confusion was justified but he put effort to clear his doubt unlike Min Sung who I felt kind of enjoyed the attention he was getting from 2 men and thus did not want to chose and loose the attention of one of them..
5. Jeong Wook : A pure and simple soul...he made me cry so many times when I saw that the housemates intentionally or unintentionally either put him on the sideline or ignored him..Like Yung Hee he also had eyes for only one man right from the beginning ..I think the reason Yung Hee could sympathize so much for JW's feelings was because he was also in the same boat having unrequited feelings for someone so he could feel how tiring it could be and that's why he always was there to support him as a younger brother. I really hope they can continue their friendship even after they leave the house.
6. Hyoeng Joo/ Daenyeol : I found him quite adorkable in the beginning but he really caught my attention in the last few episodes where he really came forward as a self respecting man..i think he's one of those people who will be really sweet and good to you till you don't hurt their pride or emotions ..I loved how he took a stand and rejected Min Sung first before Min Sung could make his so called Sophie's choice !!
7. Min Sung and Hyun Jin: The reason I decide to write about them togehter is coz I really don't care about them at all..Min Sung went from being one of my fav in the first 7 to 8 episodes to someone I hated in the last few epiosdes ..what came off as him being calm composed and sorted like a prince in the beginning was just a ploy to hide how attention seeking and deceptive this man actually is ..I think the reason they became a couple was coz Min Sung realized that he has to save face now coz Daenyeol will either ways reject him now so the best thing is to suddenly declare feelings for the other man he was so confuse about till one day before..I don't see that relationship lasting but if it does good for them..coming to Hyun Jin..I have nothing but bad feelings towards this person..didn't like hima lot even in the beginning but his conduct in the whole JH-MS-JH triangle just irritaed the f*** out of me to the extent I literally had to skip his part with Min Sung..the way I rolled my eyes and skipped over that entire part in the end where they became a couple..I was like good for you ..you both deserve each other..
More than the relationships, I think i will remember the friendships between the men which was really heart warming and I would like to see more of them meeting each other in real life !!

Coming of age at its best!!

So having heard a lot about this film being the Kickstarter of the BL craze that gripped Thailand and other countries and being a big BL fan myself I decided to give this a try and honestly I was glad I did coz I loved it...but we warned, this is not your typical BL story. Though the focus is on the romantic plot that develops between 2 boys who have known each other since a long time, the movie also delves into the subject of loss and family love. It realistically depicts the conclusion of the love between 2 people from the same gender which most of the times doesn't end happily in the face of societal and parental pressure but becomes a beautiful memory that is cherished for a lifetime. Mario's Character says in the movie "I can't be your boyfriend but that doesn't mean that I don't love you" which says a lot about the inner struggle faced by those who fall in love with someone from the same gender. The ending is bittersweet but beautiful and touching!!
Everyone from the cast does a brilliant job including Mario Maurer in his debut role but for me the scene stealer was Pchy as Mew. He gave such a nuanced performance as a boy who has a deep crush on his childhood friend who is also his inspiration to write love songs. His heartbreak is visible on his face when he is forbidden to have any contact with Tong and he does the heavy lifting of most of the emotional scenes of the movie effortlessly. Special mention to Ying, a character which should be an example for BL writers on how to write non toxic female characters.
The OST and the background score really added to the depth of the movie, specially the song sung by Mew for Tong, which perfectly captures the essence of first love!!
I will recommend this one to anyone looking for a coming of age movie with a very realistic and bittersweet story!!
N.B :- For a film made 14 years ago, it has a surprisingly good kiss between the main leads which is way better than the kisses we see in a lot of BLs in the current times

Truly Remarkable!! The one that started it all!!

The fact that this is my first review says a lot. I have a lot of BL series as my favs but I never went to the extent of writing a review for any. I am writing for this because I know like me there will be many people who will be confused as to whether watch this series or not. Here's why you should :
Pros :
I have to say that this series completely exceeded my expectations!! I have been a BL fan since beginning of this year and I have watched almost all the series multiple times...however, I did not ever feel like watching Love Sick or its sequel because it never appealed to me ...first of all it was old and then I thought it would be a normal high school love story and also the 36 episodes didn't help...but having no BL left to watch I thought of giving it a try and boy was I glad that I did coz I was blown away...I finished watching s1 and 2 in 3 days (48 episodes) which says a lot about how addictive it was..this series is sooo much better than a lot of BLs which have come out recently ...the story is quite realistic and very well written and deals with teenage issues and angst, the feelings of first love etc. very well...the scenes between the main couple Phun and Noh are the highlight of this show and are pure gold..Captain and White even though at that time were new actors, have amazing chemistry...not once did any scene between them feel awkward or forced..it really looked like 2 boys who are completely in love with each other...their scenes made me swoon and giggle like a teenage girl and only a very few BL couples have been able to do that to me...Noh's character was very well written and developed throughout the series and Captain as an actor brought a charm which made the character so endearing to everyone!! Apart from the love track, the friendships portrayed in the show are beautiful and the interactions between Noh and his friends are friendship goals!! And the music... both the OST and the background score was one of the best I have heard in BLs..

Cons :
I don't have any major complaints with the series but the parts with Phun and Nohs girlfriends does sometimes become a bit tedious to watch and puts a stop in an otherwise fluent pacing !! Also, other than Yuri and Pang, all other female characters in the show are either straight up evil or annoying...don't get me wrong they are entertaining but they don't add much to the plot. And Boy do I hate Jeed..she gets on my nerves..I don't know whether it was intentional on the writers part to make such an annoying character..the acting sometimes is a bit awkward but then the chemistry makes up for everything!!

Overall : To think that this was practically the first BL to come and paved the path for future...Its indeed come in my top BLs of all time and I will definitely watch it again!! Kudos to LoveSick!!

As much as I wanted to like it, not my cup of tea!!!!!

I can see how this show would have been loved by a lot of people...don't get me wrong..it's not that I didn't like the show..let me tell you why it didn't work for me as much as I wanted it to...let me get something out of the way...I love psychological dramas...I have watched a lot of them in both Western and Asian media...and I love flawed characters. I prefer characters who are not instantly lovable from the first scene itself...and that is the reason I had no problems with Kiyoi's characterization...though a lot of people disliked his actions and the way he treated Hira but for me I could understand the reason behind each of those actions...for me the real problem is Hira's character..his vulnerability and introvert nature were all endearing until he started coming off as an obsessed lover..there's a difference between an unrequited love and this kind of one sided obsession ( which according to Hira it was one sided) ...he complaints a lot about people treating him this way that way...but the one character who actually treats him respectfully and adores him is completely disregarded by him..by disregarded I didn't mean Hira not saying yes to his proposal..but the moment he meets Kiyoi again, he goes back to his stalker mode completely oblivious to this one person who has been by his side till now....as much as I love characters who don't give up their pursuit in a love story, I cannot stand a character who has no sense of self respect...and a relationship born out of such obsession is not very appealing to me ..maybe the story didn't have enough time to flesh out his character properly or maybe the writing of the character itself was weak but somehow I didn't enjoy Hira and that for me was the biggest flaw of the show....since we are on the topic, let me give you an example of a well written vulnerable, introvert and insecure character ( which apparently Hira's character is supposed to be ) - i.e. Adachi from cherry magic..not only does he make you sympathize with him but also makes you root for him to find happiness.... not to take away from the strengths of the show which were a lot, I wish I would have liked Hira's character better which would have made this couple much more likeable for me ...

A start-up I was glad I invested in

Seriously 8.1? For this show? Talk about injustice..and why ? coz apparently some fans are crazy..
I don’t know about other things but this show had one thing in abundance - entertainment. It was a smooth ride from start to finish with a brisk pace, good writing and top-notch performances. Honestly, its very rare to sit for a binge watch of a Kdrama as its lengthy and most of them start dragging towards the end but with this I didn’t even realize when I reached episode 16. This show was a complete package. It was funny, romantic and emotional as and when it needed to be and the best part about the show were its extremely likeable characters.
Nam Joo Hyuk as Nam Do San brings this extreme vulnerability to his character that you can’t help but be protective of him..he is a pure soul and a rare gem and even though I started this show for Kim Seon Ho, somewhere along the way Do San’s character just stole my heart. Kim Seon Ho as Han jI Pyung shines in his role especially his scenes with grandam. Suzy as always is a sight for sore eyes. Dal Mi is the MVP of the show and the story kind of revolves around her. Other characters have also done an extremely good job. The bromance between Do San and his coding besties is something so genuine.
Addressing the obvious elephant in the room. The apparent love triangle which drove fans crazy. Are people seriously delusional? Being here for Kim Seon Ho, even I could see the chemistry between Do San and Dal Mi which was completely absent for the other pair..not once did Dal Mi show any inclination in a romantic way towards Han Ji Pyung..maybe people were thinking that the big reveal of the letters would change the game but sorry to all those folks, feelings don’t work that way. Dalmi gives a very good response for choosing Do San – On being asked by Do San as to why she likes him she responds I like you because it’s you.no other reason required...there it is..as clear as day..she liked him for who he was as a person after she met him..not becoz someone wrote her letters 15 years back. Yes she treasured those letters and yes that was the reason they met in the first place but then it was all Do San for Dal Mi..he made her fall in love with him..she didn’t start loving him immediately after meeting him just becoz of those letters..she fell in love with the real Do San over a course of time. And then blaming the show for catching them off guard with the ending when all the show has ever done was allude that that’s how it was gonna end.
When it comes to negatives, I have a few. The writing does become a bit inconsistent and lazy towards the end especially after ep 12. Han Ji Pyung was needed more in the 2nd half. But these are just small nit-picks in an otherwise brilliant and entertaining show…give this a a chance like I did..you will end up with a good investment!!!!

Falling for Wang An Yu!!

Just finished watching this ..overall a very enjoyable, well made drama..let me get a few complaints that I have out of the way before I start on the positives...the writing was a little inconsistence towards the end and kind of felt like the writers ran out of ideas..it didn't feel like the last 3 to 4 episodes were written by the same people who wrote the remaining episodes..also a few of the subplots were very unnecessary and were not wrapped up effectively..\
now let me talk about the positives and that cannot be without mentioning the biggest strength of the show which is its two leads who are excellent in their roles and have such sizzling chemistry with each other..their intimate moments felt so real that I felt like I was intruding on an actual couple ..Gina Jin as Lou Na was a very well written FL who was independent, strong and kind of broke the stereotype of the girl needing a knight in shining armor wherein here it was her who played that role..coming to our ML..this is my first drama of Wang An Yu and I'm already a fan..brilliant acting accompanied by a very well written character brought forth a very lovable, goofy, adorable ML whom you couldn't help but fall in love with...the writing was generally good especially in the first 3/4 th of the drama..the sports event were well shot with audiences feeling edge of the seat excitement..their were tons of cute romantic moments which didn't feel cringeworthy at all...l I would have given it an 8 but I give it a 9 ( the extra 1 point is just for how amazing Wang An Yu was in the drama)!!

everyone needs this Ahjussi in their life !!!

I'm cursing myself right now for having put off watching this for so long even when it was in my watchlist for ages.....i feel i'm not worthy to rate this show...perfection is an understatement for how comforting, healing and overall amazing this piece of art was...rarely has anything on screen moved me so much ...every character was so beautifully written and had such layers...the screenwriters deserve every accolade possible for crafting this tale which depicts the power of vulnerability and kindness and how a small gesture from your end could mean the world to someone going through a tough time...in terms of acting everyone brought forward their A game..i really liked Lee Sun Kyun in Coffee Prince but his performance here was so meticulous that he made me feel everything that his character was feeling..and IU ..ohhh IU ...where do I even begin...one of the best acts ever..the amount of emotions she portrayed while keeping a straight face as required by her character was tough nd she nailed it so well...
My most favorite part of the show obviously were the interactions between the leads and the beautiful relation they had ..I also loved the scenes with the 3 brothers hanging out together...
Overall if i have to rate this - 100000/10....i feel even this is less...

Guilty Pleasure Street Food !!!

Have you guys ever had a craving for street food? You know its not good, you know you might get stomach issues eating that but you don't care ..you go ahead and indulge yourself..give in to that craving and enjoy without thinking about the consequences because it makes you feel so good at that moment? La Cusine is that street food..it's my guilty pleasure..I know there’s nothing much happening in terms of plot, i know the acting is not always good, the last few episodes are ridiculous, there is cringe, there are awkward moments, characters getting more screentime than required, fillers and so many other issues...but do I care ? Not at all...reason : just one and only one:
Lukchup and Ram togehter are so adorable and their cute chemistry is so charming that when I sit and watch them it actually uplifts my mood..they have such a healthy relationship with the least amount of toxicity..watching their relationship progress is a delight in its own .i found my stress melting away just looking at them.. there was an entire episode dedicated to them just going and hanging out at the mall..that's it..but did i love it ...absolutely..i could have watched another one hour of them hanging out at that mall just having fun..
Although the last 3 episodes are poorly written and the whole NamNing thing where the makers want us to sympathize with her is just ridiculous…and the whole arc of her with the gun etc was just downright terrible.. the narrative just stumbles at the end and the show compromises on its greatest strength ( the cute moments between its 2 leads) to create unnecessary drama. Let me say something – mental issues or childhood traumas should not be used as an excuse for bad behaviour…and criminal acts should be dealt strictly and the perpetrators of such acts should not be shown in a sympathetic light ..series and films need to stop doing this..it sends a bad message..
But the first 7 to 8 episodes are a delight to watch and I would still recommend it for Lukchup and Ram and their cuteness …watch without expecting much and without being too critical and chances are you might end up enjoying this way more than you thought you would !!! this is a perfect example of fluff done well!!

Healing through love!!!!

Did not expect to love it so much!! I really have apprehensions when it comes to watching Kdramas produced before 2016 as I have tried before and failed to like most of them...so went into this without expecting much and though was not a big fan of the first 1 or 2 eps, it slowly started grabbing my attention to the point that i was binging the episodes and watched it within 2 days....the biggest strength of the show lies in the performances of its 2 leads who are outstanding in their roles and also the supporting cast who range from good to excellent...the relationship between the leads is very refreshing and realistic and not at all what you have come to expect from the surreal standards of romance set by Kdramas.. they have amazing chemistry and act like how a couple in real life rather than a fairy tale would...the medical aspect though a bit crude and sometimes illogical does not affect the quality of the drama..the stigmas associated with mental health patients are depicted to the point in a very effective way...another major contributor to the feels is the OST of the show..the songs beautifully complement the emotions the character is going through and that is very rare...at the end its a story of healing through love and being there for someone who needs your help!!! an absolute must watch!!
