I believe changing his name, identity and occupation has been part of his survival. He isolate himself, not letting anyone in to hide this part of him - probably why he is shown to prefer to work alone here.

Are we looking at the same man? The same character? I love that they're breaking that cookie-cutter expectation and that is precisely why it works so well for a high-concept thiller like NOUR. Boss has a sharp, defined features and an intense gaze. He brings a memorable and distinctive look that grounded the police procedural side of the plot, making the character feel like a real detective rather than an actor playing dress-up. We're talking about visual realism here which sometimes I dare say is ignored by a lot of BLs.
