Just because someone doesnt present as a woman or is pursuing transition or passing as a woman, like the mc who does it to be able to protect those she cares for, doesnt mean theyre not a woman. Yes, the mc is in a conflict between doing what shes longing for which is coming out and expressing herself the way she wants to (dressing feminine, transitioning, which she does throughout the movie) and the circumstances of her situation. And even after shes seemingly given up transitioning shes still pointing her finger, showing shes a woman.... the movie is about the mcs struggle not yours. I dont feel as though it is a appropriate to still refer to the mc by he/him pronouns even after knowing that because of her situation she just cant present as a woman even though its something she wants. also note that i specified in my comment that i hadnt seen the movie then.
I commented that seven months ago and during that time period someone not only changed the title but also submitted a different synopsis that gets rid of the issues i mentioned in my comment. And i can assure you that at the time i was typing my comment not only was the mc referred to with he/him pronouns but there was also the "real woman" passage. It was a direct quote. Please consider that things are bound to change in a seven month time window on a site like mdl that builds on submissions from users before accusing anybody. You really thought you did something.

I think what kept her in the top3 for most of the runtime was also the fact that koreans had her as a filler vote because they had to vote for somebody from c group so they just chose xiaoting. So by the time of the final voting those koreans voted for their actual picks and xiaoting fell behind (sadly).
