I'm at ep 22, and that first heat passion spark between Meng and the Emperor feels so...eek! It's cringe and barf.…
While I disagree on their chemistry, that drugged by a fruit scene really felt more comical and forced than sensual. I couldn't take it seriously for a moment π€£ππ.
currently on ep 21. Finally realized, why I'm getting frustrated with her character. In the beginning they portrayed her as clever and street smart. Since getting her position she shows still knowledge, but where did her being clever in situations go? She figuratively acts like an axt, when a scalpel is required. I love a strong female character, but the character development got in the wrong direction with her. You want constantly slap some sense into her now. *urgh* Ty for reading. Needed to vent a little π
When they finally give us some comedy, people start complaining π€·π»ββοΈπ€·π»ββοΈLike, what made…
While tagged as romcom, the last 8 eps were more somber in the mood with some comic relief moments in between. This ep flipped the vibe with the drawn out jealousy parts, which were ment to be funny, but got stale fast (imo). It didn't fit the rest of the - so far aired - drama. So I am not surprised by the critics. I wasn't overly impressed either. Thankfully towards the end the show got back to the more somber vibe and picked up the story again
Episode 8. The scene one the stairs between the siblings. Had anyone else the feeling of a deja Vu? I could swear, I watched this part nearly 1:1 before in a series (staircase included)
I'm on ep 18 and my guess is, that our pharmacist hustler is the blood moon mask and Gu is the black mask. And since our hustler is so invested in keeping the fl alive and well, and he reacted so weird to her shoulder wound (markings?), ig, fl is somehow related to the Zhouwen clan.
Up to this point I love this drama. I don't get, why it got the comedy tag. Besides some comic relief moments it's more slice of life with a melo vibe. PR reasons? Who knows. Whatever. What really bugs me are the avoidable AI parts. It takes from the cinematography and makes it look cheap. Invest the money in locations, permits and people. It looks better on screen. These slob parts are not it. π

Then they only got overboard in the post production.
So far I didn't get all the mentioned critic either.
