Anybody noticed the colours of MH is different than normal Kdramas? I'm pretty sure it's not my TV screen's problem.

MH have scenes, not all scenes, that are more orange-y, aquagreen-y, blue-ishy, etc, and they put 'fake picture' flowers, branchs, window and sky in, for example, the locker scenes. etc.

It feels like watching a Kpop band MV, or a coloured manga.

It's so cute but does anyone else think the premise is kinda cringey, kinda like Thai BL-ish... Also that scene…
I'm not sure about the Thai-ish part, but I think I can guess why you feel that.

MH is definitely a fluffy feel good series.
It's story lines, scripts, scenaries however does not highlight any SK cultural charactoristics.
What I mean is, you can put all Chinese actors, or all Thai, or maybe Filipino actors to play the same series and they will all come across as believable that it's originated from their country.

The only thing more Korean in MH is the octopus stew at the restaurant. That's very typical Korean food. But that's it. Hm, maybe the box milk as well.

If you remember Where Your Eyes Linger, it's very "Korean". It has the Chaebol, the korean martial art, the expectations of the chaebol families- if not met means you get 'exiled' abroad, the 'paid sibling', the reserved love and loyalty, the social class system, powerless employees, etc etc. All very identifiable as Korean, so one can easily distingush WYEL from all the Thai, Chinese, etc, BLs.

I could be wrong.

MH is also definitely not as deep, not as subtle, like WYEL was. WYEL brought out more emotions, reflections, and drew me in a lot more.

But this one is CUTE CUTE CUTE !!! :-)

I feel BrightWin will definitely promote as a couple still but I feel it will be like KristSingto. I just feel…
I was just posting on Bright's MDL site, about BrightWin casting as Sherlock Holmes & Doctor Watson, suggesting GMM should make an adaptation of the western novel "Sherlock Holmes" by Sir Doyle. LOL.
That'll be bromance, not BL. So B will be willing to do it. Detective, classy, intellectual stories. Bright is a smart guy in real life, he seems to suit Sherlock.
I saw the Live Thailand Peoples' Award yesterday, and BW won the 'best couple' award. Bright's charisma there reminded me of Pierce Brosnan, the 6th James Bond 1995-2005 approx.
So he could brush up his English and try out Hollywood?? Not that Hollywood is any better than the Thai entertainment industry, but it'll be an experience. Plus I think he has family in the US
Or GMM can remake a Thai adaptation of James Bond 007, casting B.

LOL. Just me fantasizing about somebody elses life, totally none of my business ;-) LOL.

I've been going on a marathon watching all of Brights series/movies/TVshows, and I found that Bright actually pats his female screen partners on the head too LOL. I thought he, as Wat, did that patting on Tine because he wanted to keep his distance with a male screen partner. But NOPE, he does that 'pat pat pat' with everyone. LOL.
So cute ;-)

I just saw BrightWin's speeches for winning 'best couple' at Line Thai People's Choice Award.
Bright has this charisma, an air, he reminded me of Pierce Brosnan, James Bond 1995-2005. I watched Brosnan since Remington Steele, a dectective series.

It's no surprise since Bright is of part Western descent. I actually think Bright may want to brush up on his foreign language skills, and venture outside Thailand. Not just to the other Asian countries, like the Pilippines or Korea, China, etc. But also to the West, like US - Hollywood.

Or maybe GMM can do a remake of one of the James Bond movies, incooperating some Remington Steele. So an action detective combination drama? Create a Thai adaptation of a Western drama?

I can see Bright & Win casting as Sherlock Holmes & Dr Watson, if GMM remakes the western novel Sherlock Holmes. Oh that would be SO COOL!!! LOL

Happy thinking ! SUSU BRIGHT ! SUSU BRIGHTWIN !

hmmm I don't feel this is going to be very good...Bright as 1rst Main Lead/Doumyoji/Daoming Si?? he has the handsome…
I can't guarantee you'll like Bright's performance, and MJ, LMH, DW are established good actors. But Bright's performance will depend largely on the director and probably the screen writer, instead of solely on him.

The adaption is the director's interpretation of the story. It falls under his responsibility to cast his actors/actresses who will fit his concepts. Casting choices are the decisions, and authorities of the director and CEO/stakeholders. It also falls under the director's responsibility to guide the actors through and make the actors understand his concepts and interpretations.

The comparsion of Bright to the other three male-lead/ML has to take the director's/F4T's specific concepts into consideration. For example:

In Hana Yori Dango, DT is the most violent of all the 3 MLs, he primarily uses his fists to fight, plenty of time too. And MJ has that innate tough image, so he fits DT, and so his perforance is believable to us audience.

In Boys over Flower, GJP is the most elegant of all the 3 MLs. And LMH has that aristocratic and regal style himself. Even in fighting scenes, LMH suits better using traditional swords than fists. It will not be as convincing if MJ was casted as GJP, and vice versa.

In Meteor Garden 2018, DMS is a sucessful selfmade invester who came from the upper-class and has a more childlike and friendly personality. DW is an actor who doesn't have one innate quality that can be easily 'pigeonholed' in a specific catergory, so he worked in the role of DMS, who covers more 'general' qualities.

I think, Bright's success in convincing us audience of the charactor Thyme will largely depend on how well he's being casted, as well as how well the director impart his concepts.

Bright has been casted as male lead 8 times now since 2016 by various directors for various roles and genres. So even though he still has plenty of room to improve, as all actors/actresses do, he's been recognized as a competent enough actor. So please give, not just F4T, but also Bright a chance.

As for BWshippers being annoying, and I'm only speaking this for myself, we know that LOL. And we laugh at ourselves about how we are 'stans'. LOL.

Blame us is OK, but don't forget to blame GMM as well, for being cunning enough to exploit our 'weakness' all along for years. It's exactly GMM's knowledge of BLfans that that we are feeling so upset in the way they announced F4T, it's like GMM deliberately, or at least unthoughtfully, tried to 'hurt' us.

I agree we've been whining a lot lately. Sorry about that.

Take care :-)

“it’s not fair” “how could you do this” “i hate you” “please don’t kiss” “i hate the girl”…
I'm a BrightWin fan, but I hear you.
It's not just us BL-shippers, but all anti-fans cross lines, which is a serious problem. I would not brush it off.

Unfortunately these issues come with the territory of the entertainment industries all over the world, and all actors/actresses will experience them in their careers.

I put most of the blame on GMM for handling F4T badly, especially KNOWING BrightWin is the hottest international BL Couple right now.

I don't know how strong a person Tu is, but my hope is, and I know some korean agencie s are gradually doing this for their K-Idols now since the increase in suicides amongs the Idols recently, GMM will provide support for Tu at this time. Anything from simple wellness education to more intense mental health prevention and treatments. Just temperarily, until she learns how to handle anti-fans, 'hate'/negative comments, etc. , if she wants to stay in this industry.

I absolutely loved Meteor Garden and Boys Over Flowers, although I haven't seen the others, and I am a little…
Ling has articulated most of what was in my mind. I'll add a few of my views, with the intend of exchanging ideas and opinions.

Bright has actually casted as ML in various genres and roles before the light-hearted 2gether series. He has been casted as male lead 8 times now, including F4T.

Try 'Social Death Vote'. It's a disturbing series with different stories combined. Bright is in ep 5-6. He plays a violent sadist. To me he did well and maturely, he was only 20years old then. The way he laughed insanely, finding pleasure hitting the girl while making out with her, it was sickening and dark.
Try also 'Korn Aroon Ja Roong'. He plays a gentle young man and a good son. Totally different from 'Social Death Vote'
Try also 'I Sea U', he had to play 2 peronalities simultaniously. It's not easy for even seasoned actors/actresses. And this was his first drama, and he was being casted as ML already.
In 'Love song love series', he's goofy, cute, and adorable.

As for Win, Tine is his first drama role, we don't have other past references of his acting abilities. It won't be fair to claim he'll fail as Kavin in F4T at this point.

I have performances that are special to me in the past. For example, I absolutely loved 'The King and I' with Yul Brynner. When they remade it to 'Anna and the King' with Chow Yun Fat, I thought it won't be as good. But it turned out to be very different and I couldn't really compare them fairly with the same set of criterias. Anna and the King was great too and I loved it just as much.

So try to keep an open mind when you watch F4T, you might enjoy it.

Take care.

I just read that Win's charactor Kavin is actually huixei ???!!! idk, makes more sense if Kavin is XiMen.But sounds…
I'm wondering now if GMM will downplay the romance rivalry that all the adaptations have, between the mainML and HuaZeLei/YoonJiHo/Rui (the other primaryML), and instead up-play the brotherhood of GoJoonPyo(mainML) and SooYiJung (the playboy secondaryML) in the korean version. (the other adaptations donlt have this 'bro' part)

This way Win can still be XiMen, which makes sense since Kavin and Ximen are both playboys. HuaZeLei was not a playboy, he's quiet reserve and a violinist in some versions. And Win can be one of the primary boys without being Bright's love rival. They'll be 'brothers' instead of BLs.

Yes, absolutely. I was surprised when I saw it. Maybe you can tell me if these sources are reliable. I know that these sites are not from GMM, but two of them are Thai and Manila newpapers, at least it seems to be. Thanks.

The second link states that Kavin (Win) is Hua Zi Lei

Just a note for the first link. It says Bright is the main lead, Win is one of the secondary couple(which is unclear to me if its the other one that got together, or the two that did not), and that Dew and Nani will be the secondary boys.
I'm not sure if you watched the previous adaptations, or maybe just one of them. I can list for you, to match F4, the 4 male leads in the order of the versions: Chinese, Korean, Japanese 2005.

Main role (Bright)= DaoMingSi/GooJoonPyo/Tsukasa
secondary boys (Dew n Nani) = XiMenYan n FengMeiZuo/SooYiJung n SongWooBin/Akira n Sojiro. Hua Zi Lei was not a secondary boy.

That leaves Win(kavin) to be HuaZiLei/YoonJiHo/Rui. i.e. the other primary boy and Bright's love rival.

[...The only way I can think of to make the playboy XiMen as a primary boy (so take over HuaZiLei's position) instead of a secondary one, is if GMM down-plays the rivalry story of the 2 primary boys (DaoMingSi with HuaZiLei in the chinese verson. All the versions have this rival part), and instead up-plays the brotherhood of GoJoonPyo with SooYiJung in the korean version. The other versions did not have that brotherhood part.
This way the 2 secondary boys will be HuaZiLei n FengMeiZuo.
Also in this case, Win(XiMen) will be primary boy (formerly HuaZiLei) WITHOUT being Bright's romantic rival. Plus they will be 'bros' (not BLs).
I'm just guessing, I couod be totally wrong. lol ...]
