I can't believe a site like this exists. I was thinking of starting a blog to express my kdrama passion (addiction), but was lucky to find this site.
I started watching kdramas in the spring of 2011. I was going through my internet channels and stumbled upon DramaFever (I use playon and only saw a listing). I randomly chose Get Karl. I thought it was a silly beginning and don't know why I kept watching, but I did. Once Oh Ji Ho lost the fat suit, I was hooked (he's gorgeous!). I enjoyed the story, so I followed Oh Ji Ho to Queen of Housewives. While I didn't care for him in it, I really liked Kim Nam Joo and Yoon Sang Hyun, but I still wasn't hooked on kdramas.
Fast forward to summer 2011. I started Heartstrings (DramaFever was promoting it), but the subs took too long so I watched You're Beautiful while waiting. I loved the drama so much - I marathoned it in 2 days - then rewatched random episodes until Heartstrings was over. I was hooked!! I loved the storyline of You're Beautiful and loved the music. While Heartstrings wasn't my favorite, the music was great. This led me to start listening to kpop - I love FT Island and CNBLUE, but listen to SuperJunior, SHINee, 2NE1, SNSD, TVXQ, Nu'Est (Face is one of my favorite songs), etc. I really like many of the drama OST's - I love the music from Love Rain, Playful Kiss and Gentleman's Dignity and I love "Only You" by 10cm in I Need Romance 2012 (I like their sound - I'll have to check out their music).
I have watched a few jdramas because I love Detective Conan (aka Case Closed in America - Cartoon Network should air them again) and watched the live action shows. I also watched Kimi Wa Petto after seeing You're My Pet upon a recommendation (the jdrama was so much better). I will start watching more and may add in other Asian dramas as well.
I look forward to sharing what I watch and commenting here and there. Maybe I'll even write a review one of these days.
Please feel free to post and or friend me. I am open to new dramas or debates on dramas I've dropped, or that I've rated poorly.
