i really hate this trope because it is a shortcut in writing a relationship. They could have let the romance develop naturally, allowing her feelings to emerge later—perhaps when she discovers his real age and gets to know his real persona. As it stands, there’s no real reason for her to be infatuated with a high school student, even if he eventually reminds her of someone else (which wasn’t the case at first). At best, the audience can justify her attraction later, but the truth is, right now, she’s drawn to someone she believes to be a minor just because he’s good-looking 🥲

Hopefully, they won't go overboard, even if they unnecessarily include that annoying childhood friend/connection trope and the other trope at the end of the last episode 😅🥲

But why does it have to be a past connection trope between leads? I don't know why I dislike it so much; it always feels to me like a shortcut in writing a romance, the same as a childhood connection trope or past romance 😅 but whatever, didn't see Seo Kang-Joon for ages, fingers crossed it is a good drama, I'm here more for the action part of this drama

I don’t see any of these so called hints (but i cant stand him)🤣🤣🤣. I just find him more and more self centered with every scene 🤣😅. Honestly, I hope there’s no redemption arc for him, the only acceptable "redemption" would be him disappearing from the FL’s life forever. But, of course, he’s way too selfish for that, so I’m not holding my breath 🥲

He is so annoying, and all his self-pity, excuses, and self-righteousness are completely out of place for someone like him. He’s one of those people who showers himself with compliments that don’t even remotely apply to his actions or character. It’s infuriating how he tries to paint himself as the victim or someone noble who intended to do better, while conveniently ignoring the harm he caused. His inflated self-perception and refusal to take true accountability just make him even more unbearable. I feel bad for FL having to deal with him again and again

His so called regret feels completely hollow, not rooted in genuine remorse but steeped in selfpity. He frames himself as a passive bystander, conveniently blaming his family for everything while absolving himself of responsibility. His indifference and neglect are brushed aside, as though his sudden desire to 'make amends' could magically erase a year of mistreatment. This isn’t love or accountability, it’s selfishness and possession. He laments what he has lost, not what He Wei Fang endured. Worse, he even attempted to r*pe her, but in his twisted mind, that was "acceptable" because she was his wife. 🤮🤮🤮 His so-called reflection isn’t about her pain; it’s about his guilt and ego. I just hope he gets the ending a man like him truly deserves

Yes, he's doing a great job! I really enjoy when actors take on secondary roles in dramas; it allows them to interpret less conventional or less likeable characters compared to what they do in main roles

Remember, when they start something too soon, there’s always an infinite number of annoying tropes: misunderstandings, sacrifices for the "greater good" without telling their partner, amnesia, bizarre obstacles, and so on. So, a 🐌-paced romance is definitely better for our nerves 🤣😅. Your patience will thank you by the end! 🤣

I think her vengeance will be something she achieves in the long term, one day when she becomes powerful on her own and strong enough to take them down

I’m happy he’s not constantly in her face, trying to be the knight in shining armour without any real reason especially since they’re barely even friends at this point. Even if their relationship were to develop further, he’d still need to respect her boundaries and only step in if she genuinely needs or asks for help. I can’t stand those MLs who cling like glue, assuming they know the FL’s needs better than she does herself (spme find it romantic, i dont). It’s refreshing to see a dynamic where the FL is given space to handle her own problems instead of being overshadowed by a "hero complex."

No, please no more palace struggles and politics. I need a break from all that. 😅 This is actually the first show with Yang Zi that I’m really enjoying not necessarily because of her as an actress, but because her previous shows just weren’t my cup of tea. I did like her male version in Lost You Forever, but not so much when she transitioned back to being a girl. Again, not her fault it was the character I just couldn’t click with. What I love about this show is how the FL and ML each have their own things going on. I wouldn’t mind if their stories intertwine more later, and maybe they’ll even have to truly work together beyond just the business aspect. But for now, I’m really enjoying their independence. They both have their own struggles and challenges to overcome, which makes the story much more engaging for me. And honestly, this show is clearly more about the FL anyway the title Flourished Peonies says it all! In Chinese culture, peonies symbolize beauty, strength, and growth, often representing feminine resilience. This perfectly aligns with the story’s focus on the FL’s journey of flourishing despite her challenges. It’s about her personal and professional growth, making her the centerpiece of the narrative. The ML complements her story, but the title reinforces that her development and triumph are the heart of the show

This show reminds me a bit of Dream of Splendor, which I absolutely love. I’m actually glad the leads aren’t interacting too much, and he’s not constantly saving her, it gives her space to develop as a character outside of the romance. Sure, she wouldn’t have gotten far without him funding her business, but that actually makes it more realistic. It’s not like she could start a business from scratch just because she had great ideas, especially without the proper documents or support. On the romance side, I really appreciate the slow burn. When leads start liking each other too soon, they always seem to break up repeatedly just to create drama, and I hate that. A slower approach feels much more natural. Also, I love that the fl isn’t some flawless superwoman. She makes mistakes in judgment when dealing with people. She’s clever and business-savvy, but she’s still human, she can’t predict everything. For instance, I totally get why she trusted that creepy guy. Normally she wouldn’t, but she was so desperate, starving, and out of options that she wanted to believe in anything. Honestly, I might have done the same in her position. BTW, I just finished episode 9, and wow, what a suffering seeing her self-proclaimed righteous (he is anything but) husband again. 🤮
