I felt the comedy was overdone in some parts, and I wished the plot would move past it. I like some comedy, but…
They really turned him into a plot device from start to finish. First, he was there to be the comic relief, then they used him as an accidental spy constantly blurting out crucial information like a walking spoiler alert. And just when you think he might get some dignity, they sacrifice him for a dramatic crying moment 🥲💀
I felt the comedy was overdone in some parts, and I wished the plot would move past it. I like some comedy, but…
The main theme was clearly the relationship and emotional journey between the leads, and considering that, I think the plot delivered quite well. The romance was strong and well-developed. Plus, the secondary characters weren’t just flat background noise they had some weight, development, and some good relationship dynamics of their own. So overall, for this genre, it was honestly very well done im actually quite impressed.I wish they had used less filler comedy and instead further developed the supporting characters, but we cannot have it all 🥲
ML is a perfect example why men should only allow women manage houseand and allow them do what women can do, don't…
I felt the comedy was overdone in some parts, and I wished the plot would move past it. I like some comedy, but not when it oversaturates the rest. I still need to watch the last episodes, but so far I enjoyed the show a lot more than I expected, and I do like it so far (Episode 31)
Wei Yan is alive, fighting with the Wei and becomes the Lord of Bianzhou 🥰Da Qiao died, killed herself to prevent…
He might walk away alive, but he'll never walk whole. I don't know what kind of freedom she was imagining for him, she was very near to give birth too. Anyway, I need to watch first to see how it plays out 🥲
please, please, be happy ending. don't be "i'm too sophisticated for ordinary happy ending. happy ending is for…
At this point in dramaland, a normal happy ending, with no last-minute deaths, no noble sacrifices, and no weird open endings, is probably the most sophisticated and rare kind of ending. a happy ending feels like a plot twist. Just two people surviving, happy, and in love? Groundbreaking. Revolutionary. Practically experimental cinema 😌🤣
"Don't you dare doubt how I feel about you. I've never doubted your love, and you're not allowed to doubt mine"…
Finally leads who actually communicate, clear up their doubts, and profess their feelings like functioning humans. Is this real? Am I dreaming? Did we enter a parallel drama universe where misunderstandings don’t drag until the last 10 seconds of the final episode?? I’m emotional. I don’t know how to act 😭
“ What did I do in a past life? What do you mean???? You forgot stealing that old bread and porridge from that…
Yes, but then I got reincarnated as the beggar’s daughter living a peaceful five lines of the novel before getting killed in an invasion. My corpse (along with 27 equally unlucky background extras) got tossed in a pile that the FL walked past dramatically. She saw us, paused, teared up, and boom! six sentences of emotional development and a vow to fight for justice. So after dying for her character arc, you’d think the universe would cut me some slack this time arpund and give me express episodes on my day off?! But no apparently I'm still paying off debt from that porridge theft 💀
Ngl i love wei shao, but his inability to speak gently is beginning to annoy me a little. Also, manman forgives…
I think Manman has honestly cracked the code on how to handle someone as emotionally constipated as him. She knows exactly when to offer forgiveness and when to hit him with the cold shoulder it’s a delicate balance, and she’s mastered it. If anyone’s qualified to write "How to Train Your Wei Shao," it’s her. Because let’s be real the rest of us would've probably already choked him in his sleep by episode 3 🤣
Of course the final episodes are dropping on the one day I’m drowning in work and responsibilities. What did I do in a past life? killed a king? Because this is clearly a punishment, this level or bad karma feels personal. 😩 I’ll be dodging spoilers like arrows all day swearing I’ll be strong… and then immediately crumble and just read all of the comment section before watching the episodes late at night! And after everything we’ve been through, I need my happy ending. I’m not even asking for miracles anymore, just a finale with the least amount of murder possible. Is that too much to ask? Just one drama where they don’t host a massacre for emotional impact. I am still not over the Journey to Love trauma. And let’s be honest… I’ll probably never recover from that. So please, let them live. Preferably most of them. Maybe even... all of them? 🥲
I’m sorry but why is Liangya so weak😭😭I was waiting for some epic weeks of battle but the troops are dropping…
it was the classic ‘we have more people, so what could possibly go wrong?’ strategy led by someone whose only qualification was overconfidence and arrogance 🥲
I haven’t watched the episode yet because I refuse to pay for express and I’m trying so hard not to cave and…
I can only buy the VIP subscription, which is the only one I have, and the express option for this show. I don't have any other purchase options where I live, no SVIP

Liu Yuning:
“Oh wow, classic straight guy energy. Blinked at me like 'what now, you done?' — the nerve. And here we are at the spicy Orange Entertainment interview. Hi everyone, I’m Liu Yuning!”
"When Wei Shao hears a soft voice, he gets all tense and awkward. He’s the kind who’s very driven — like really persistent. Also, he's got a bit of a vengeful streak. He’ll really go all in for what he believes in. I relate to that. When things get tough at work, I keep going no matter what. But honestly? If you asked me to deliver 500 warhorses or throw rocks at airplanes to 'balance the energy' of transporting them — yeah, that’s too much even for a straight guy like me."
On Romance:
"You've got to know what your partner likes. Jewelry? Bags? Flowers? You’ve gotta be romantic! Like laying out a white paper rose on the bed. Have you heard that kind of thing?"
"People always say one of Wei Shao’s theme songs should be called Rainbow Straight Guy. Why? Because of how he speaks and sings — so sweet and gentle, but emotionally blocked. Like, bro, if you’ve got something to say, say it! He just glares instead of speaking. It’s that 'clueless about romance' vibe — it’s real."
On Acting & Growth:
"This role represents a two-year journey for me. Back then, if I thought of something, I’d just go for it — bold and full of creative energy. But now I focus more on the character’s deeper emotions and background. Honestly, if I played Wei Shao again today, I’m not sure I could bring the same youthful vibe. Watching without comments? It feels empty — like something’s missing."
On Trolls & Fans:
"Back in the day, I used to care way too much about criticism. I’d ignore praise and fixate on negativity. But now I’ve learned to tell the difference between feedback I can grow from and just plain personal attacks. If it’s just hate — it’s meaningless to me."
"I once tried writing lyrics using AI — yeah, that didn’t go well. Turns out I’m still better off doing it myself."
Message to Viewers:
"It gets cold on set, okay? Wear your thermal underwear! Seriously, don’t joke around — wear the layers, even the electric ones if you have to. Don’t end up like me with cold knees!"
“I’ve grown fond of Wei Shao. At first glance, he’s okay, but the more you watch, the more you like him. And hey — don’t let yourself be manipulated by online trends. Don’t just believe whatever people say. If you let others control your thoughts, you’re just an NPC in this world. Be your own protagonist!”
Playfully:
“Me? A top alpha? No, no, let’s not get carried away. Maybe just… mid-tier alpha. Slightly alpha. Beta-plus, if you will.”
To the fans:
“I know how to sweet talk now — I’ll be sweeter to the fans too, promise. Just don’t take everything I say on shows literally! I say it for fun, but then you believe me!”
About Haters:
“Don’t waste time arguing with trolls — it’s pointless. Be kind, be civil. Sometimes I mention their comments on stream, but it’s just content. Gotta have something to say during a live, right?”
Final Thoughts:
“I used to be shy about streaming, but now I just treat it as a way to reflect. Honestly, we poured a lot of thought into filming this drama. I really love the team — they’re amazing.”
